Chapter 147
Chapter 147
“Um.” Celia was overjoyed when hearing Samuel’s words. “I think she’s quite pitiful,”
Samuel didn’t seem to want to talk more about it. “Linda’s still in a coma. You can go
and see her, and I’ll wait for you here.”
“Aren’t you coming with me?” Celia asked in a surprised and sweet voice.
“I have something to do at the company. I have to make a few calls.”
“Um, fine.”
Celia had to take her hand off Samuel’s arm and walked towards Linda’s ward, followed
by Nancy with all kinds of tonics and fruits.
Elizabeth ran into an empty ward, locked the door immediately, and then called Benson
in the bathroom.
She thought Benson must be anxious. After all, it was about his future property.
“I’ll go to the hospital myself if you don’t call me.”
“Why are you so impatient?”
“You were there last night, but you didn’t call me until now.”
“Why are you so worried? It’s not your dad who had an accident,” Elizabeth continued, “But it’s more serious than that”
Benson was speechless.
Elizabeth felt heartbroken. She wished she could cry out loud. “It’s 85 million dollars, Ben. If Linda is disabled, your dad will have to compensate her with 85 million dollars!”
Benson was also astonished by the number.
“Tell me what we can do, Ben. We can’t give so much money to her.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there. Wait for me!”
Elizabeth nodded with a silent cry.
Benson hung up the phone.
Elizabeth was about to walk out of the bathroom when something occurred to her. She quickly called Benson back,

only to find that his phone was turned off.
“Benson Jones, how dare you cheated me again?
“Wait! If Samuel sees Ben this time, will the secret be exposed?” she thought.
She took a deep breath and opened the door. She popped her head out, only to see Samuel York calling someone on
the other end of the corridor. But Celia was nowhere to
be seen.
She must try to get Samuel out of here.
Clearing her throat, she sneaked behind him.
Samuel turned around when hearing the noise, staring at her with his sharp eyes. Elizabeth stood still, shrinking her
neck.
“Well, can I talk to you for a minute?”
“I’ll talk to you in detail when I get to the company,” Samuel said to the person on the
other side of the phone.
Hanging up the phone, Samuel narrowed his eyes. “You don’t have to worry about
Linda. Go home now.”
“Anyway, I won’t let you lose so much money.” Elizabeth licked her lips, ready to pluck her courage to persuade him.
Samuel was speechless.
We can’t you go home with me? Grandpa will go there later. Didn’t you promise to
act as a loving couple with me in front of him? You must help me.”
Samuel held his chin with one hand and pursed his lips without saying a word.
“Hey, Samuel, do you hear me or not?”
Samuel walked around her. “Listen, Elizabeth Jones. You won’t get the money even if I don’t make the compensation. Don’t act as if it were your money.”
“It is mine!” Elizabeth immediately covered her mouth and smiled cheekily when she
realized she said something wrong. “Well, I mean I’m so beautiful and elegant, so I
deserve all the money in the world.”
“You’d better just mind your own business. I’m afraid Troy will talk to you soon.”

Only then did Elizabeth realize that Troy’s affair was more urgent to be dealt with.
“Why are you so mean, Samuel? Can’t you tell me how you’re going to deal with it?”
“Why do I have to tell you?” Samuel approached her with a sneer. “Who do you think
you are? Don’t interfere in my business. You have no right to say anything even if I
compensate her with more money.”
“Wow, I know you don’t care,” Elizabeth thought.
She thought only Benson could be better in terms of speaking when he grew up.
But Ben was only three years old now.
Elizabeth gritted her teeth in anger.
“What an idiot!
Ever since Linda woke up and found out that she could no longer stand normally, she seemed to be mute, and no matter who came to visit her, she had a deathly disheartened
expression.
Her life had come to an end here.
Della had been extremely busy that day and answered a lot of phone calls, but none of the calls were kind enough to comfort Linda. These phone calls had been afraid that their interests would be harmed, so most of the investors who had signed next year’s contract with Linda had requested a refund.
The company that Linda worked for turned a blind eye to her, they even posted on the Internet that the pay they had paid Linda over the years was many times higher than that of a famous model. They also exposed that Linda was the most difficult model to serve. All the positive comments were bought by the company to help Linda build her image.
Who would care about a pawn without any value? The company had spent a lot of money cultivating the money printer, but it had fallen. Linda must have been to squeeze out the last bit of profits so that the company could get compensation from Samuel.
