Chapter 15
“Elizabeth, how can you slander Celia like this? She came all the way to visit you out of kindness and apologized to you. But, you just insulted her!”
Elizabeth had her hands on her hips as if she wanted to fight with them. She pointed at Celia’s nose and scolded, “Celia,
congratulations. Finally, you’ve made an advancement in your acting. But you merely excel at playing a shameless
mistress…”
“Elizabeth!” Samuel’s roar stopped Elizabeth from curs his cold eyes like knives stabbing Elizabeth.
Samuel stood at the door of the ward with a sullen face,
Samuel didn’t like Elizabeth being that way. She was not like that before and only knew to nod no matter what he said. When did she become stubborn and uncontrollable?
“Don’t court death.” Samuel didn’t let go of Elizabeth even if she flushed. It seemed that he wanted to strangle her. He roared. “Let me ask you again. Are you wrong? Do you want to apologize to Celia?”
Elizabeth’s lips were colorless. She said with sarcasm, “I have done nothing. Samuel, things are not what you have seen. They took the initiative to make trouble for me. I was…”
Elizabeth couldn’t continue. Her face distorted because she could hardly breathe.
Celia was startled and turned pale. She was afraid of Elizabeth complaining in front of Samuel.
“Samuel, I feel uncomfortable. Let’s go. If you go on, something unexpected might happen. Liz didn’t do it on purpose. Forget it.”
Celia thought, “I can’t underestimate Elizabeth and should be well–prepared next time.”
Celia knew Samuel would not strangle Elizabeth. If that went on, it wouldn’t be good for her, so she interceded for Elizabeth. Elizabeth was out of breath. Seeing that, Samuel let go of her. If he tried harder, she would die.
He thought, No way!
Elizabeth was pushed to the bed by Samuel. She gulped in the fresh air and stared at the three of them fiercely with her scarlet eyes.
Elizabeth made up her mind to take revenge.
She just came back and didn’t want to cause trouble. Since they didn’t want to let her go, she had no other choices.
Samuel was shocked by Elizabeth’s hostile eyes and could hardly believe that. When he wanted to look at her again. Elizabeth had byp“ssed them and went to the bathroom.
The door was slammed shut by Elizabeth.
She didn’t want to see them.
Samuel didn’t pay any more attention to Elizabeth. If it were not for Tomas, Samuel would have strangled her.
Samuel hadn’t seen Elizabeth for four years and didn’t expect her to become bad–tempered.
“Celia. I’ll send you back to the ward. Don’t be angry with her. I’ve dealt with the comments online, and no one will say anything about you,” Samuel said gently.
“Thank you, Sam.” Celia leaned into Samuel’s arms and glanced at the bathroom..
Celia hoped Elizabeth could hear the talk between Samuel and her so that Elizabeth would be angry.
“Sam, don’t blame Liz. I shouldn’t come here.” Celia blamed herself.
Samuel helped Celia to lie down, “Don’t think about it. You should have a good rest.”
Nancy wanted to make Samuel angrier. “Celia, how can you say that? You came to see Elizabeth with good
intentions. She was
ungrateful and said you were a mistress. Your reputation will be ruined if others hear that. How can you continue your work in the show biz? Why are you so kind as to plead for her?”
Celia snapped, “Nancy, stop talking about that. Liz is brought up by Grandpa Tomas. She is not what you think.”
Nancy said nothing more after being scolded by Celia and went out.
Celia said apologetically, “Sam, don’t believe Nancy’s nonsense. You know she is straightforward.”
Celia was telling Samuel what Nancy said was indeed the truth.
“I’ll deal with Elizabeth. Take a good rest. OK?” Samuel tucked Celia in carefully. “I’ll stay here with you.”
“OK” A shadow of a smile touched Celia’s mouth.
Samuel was good at restraining himself. He didn’t know why he lost control of his emotions. If he tried harder, Elizabeth would be killed by him.
Samuel thought he might hate Elizabeth too much.
Nelson came when Elizabeth went out of the bathroom. He gave Elizabeth the medical record and said, “Here is your prescription. Do you need me to get the medicine? Or…”
Nelson stopped when he saw the red mark on Elizabeth’s neck and wondered what had happened. His eyes widened.
“No need,” Elizabeth answered indifferently and walked by Nelson quickly.
Nelson was stunned.
Chapter 15
He thought Elizabeth was ignorant because she didn’t know many people sought medical treatment from him.
Since Elizabeth was indifferent, Nelson didn’t have to be kind.
Nelson was curious about the mark on Elizabeth’s neck and wondered whether someone wanted to murder her.
Nelson decided to report to Samuel about that.
Nelson walked to the hall and saw Elizabeth’s lonely figure. Even if she became more beautiful, she was used to walking with her head down. However, she was fast. “Sam, Elizabeth refused the treatment and medicine.”
“Are you worried about her?”
Nelson didn’t know what to say.
Samuel hung up the phone.
Nelson blamed, “Can’t you talk peacefully?”
