Chapter 30
Elizabeth had never seen such a scene in many years in the York family. Samuel had always respected Grandpa
Tomas. Otherwise, he would

“Grandpa, don’t forget what you promised me too. Our conditions didn’t include this. I’m not allowed to have another girlfriend,” Samuel retorted.
Seeing the argument between the two of them, other domestic workers were frightened. And Elizabeth was worried about Grandpa Tomas’s health. She timely spoke up to calm the situation. “Grandpa, don’t be angry. By the way, Maria made a delicious breakfast today. Let me take you to try it and announce an important message to you.”
“Let’s go, grandpa!”
Only after Elizabeth’s persuasion, Tomas followed her to the dining room, and the battle between the grandfather and grandson subsided.
“Liz, don’t be angry with Sam. He has always been this nasty.”
Even at this moment, Tomas didn’t forget to comfort Elizabeth.
He had been so angry during the argument with Samuel earlier that his face turned red. Elizabeth was genuinely concerned about his well–being.
He was getting old and had a history of hypertension. He couldn’t afford to be angry.
Samuel was too heartless, and she had to teach him a lesson.
“No, grandpa, I’m not angry,” Elizabeth said, afraid of worrying Tomas. “You eat first, and I’ll go talk to Samuel privately. We’ll get along well in a while.”
Tomas looked at her back and sighed. What a good girl she was. Why didn’t Sam cherish her?
It had been four years, and she had become so beautiful. Why didn’t Sam see her worth?
After the birthday party, several wealthy young men came to inquire about Elizabeth discreetly. If Samuel didn’t cherish her, he feared that they wouldn’t be able to keep his granddaughter–in–law.
After arguing with Tomas, Samuel decided to personally go and bring Celia in. Elizabeth suddenly reprimanded him from behind, “Samuel, stop.”
The man paused at her words, looking incredulous.
“Let’s talk,” Elizabeth said coldly, blocking his way..

“Talk?” Samuel sneered. “Elizabeth…”
Elizabeth didn’t let him finish and grabbed his injured wrist roughly, dragging him aside. Samuel was afraid of being laughed at, so he had to let this woman do as she pleased.
Damn it.
Did this damned woman need so much force?
He seriously suspected that she was deliberately seelding revenge.
Once they arrived at an empty courtyard, Samuel pushed her away with a strong palm. It almost made Elizabeth lose her
balance.
Damn it! This vengeful man held a grudge against her.
If she didn’t have some martial arts skills, she wouldn’t dare provoke him.
“What do you want to say? Don’t think that grandpa can protect you.” Samuel nonchalantly straightened out his clothes, looking at her with the same disdainful eyes as before.
“Samuel, you’re really unfilial. Don’t you know that grandpa has hypertension? Do you want to make him faint with anger?”
“Mind your own business! I’m curious to see how many happy days you have left.”
“That’s none of your business!”
Samuel was speechless.
He found that this woman’s speech was really annoying.
“I’m going to get Celia. You should go and take care of grandpa if you are filial.” Samuel looked down on her, showing that he didn’t care about her.
“Why are you in such a hurry? Celia won’t disappear.” Elizabeth crossed her arms and got to the point. “Samuel, let’s make a deal.”
“A deal? Are you qualified?” Samuel found it amusing.
She had no idea of her place and dared to negotiate with him?
“You haven’t even heard me out, and you already know that I’m not qualified? You should know that I’m completely different from four years ago. Maybe I have something that you can use to your advantage.”
To survive in this society, one either needed a distinguished family background or something that others could use.
Elizabeth had no distinguished family backgrounds, so she had to rely on the latter.

After all, she had Grandpa Tomas supporting her.
Samuel squinted and asked teasingly, “So, what value do you think you have that makes me want to make a deal
with you?”
Although she could win over Steven, she was not smart enough. He wouldn’t be deceived by her petty tricks.
“I don’t know why grandpa keeps trying to pair us up. I told him four years ago that we had already divorced and it was clean and clear. Maybe he’s forgotten about it because he’s getting older. But I notice that his health hasn’t been good lately. He keeps forgetting things. Sometimes when we talk, he seems out of sorts. It’s a sign of senile dementia.” Elizabeth supported her chin with her fingers, looking serious. “Samuel, can we temporarily coexist peacefully for grandpa’s sake? Don’t worry, I don’t have any other intentions. It’s just for grandpa. As long as we’re not in front of him, you can do whatever you want with Celia. Even if you don’t come back at night, it doesn’t matter. I’ll cover for you. How about that?”
