“I love you but I let you suffer. My dear, if one day Samuel finds his way back, will you forgive him?”
Elizabeth was lost in thought. She had never thought about this question. Maybe it was because Samuel had never loved her, and she
didn’t dare to think that one day Samuel would do that.
How could such a thing happen to her? She didn’t want to waste time and effort on something without sense.
“Elizabeth, do you think you have the right to interfere in my business?” Samuel came in with a cold face and raised the corner of his thin lips. His expression was extremely terrifying.
Elizabeth smacked her lips. “I’m helping you.”
Samuel sneered. “Shut up. Do I need you to act as a matchmaker?”
Elizabeth shrugged. “Hmph, it’s fine if you don’t appreciate it. Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”
“You!” Samuel couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.
Old Mr. York loved to see the two bicker. He liked to lie quietly on the bed like a ball of air. A lot of feelings started with bickering, didn’t they? The relationship between the two of them had improved a lot compared to the past. Why didn’t they know how to be
flexible?
He was really worried about his grandson. Liz was beautiful and capable now. He couldn’t let the boy from the Frank family take advantage of it!
Elizabeth received a message from Benson.
“Let’s have supper together.”
The pictures were of all kinds of delicious food. Benson was really miserable. He deliberately abused her.
Because of taking care of Grandpa, she hadn’t had dinner today. Unknowingly, it was already late at night, and her stomach began to growl because of the delicious food.
She swallowed her saliva in embarrassment and covered her stomach with her hands with a chuckle.
Old Mr. York smiled gently. “You must be hungry. Samuel, go buy something for her to eat. This girl has been taking care of me all
night.”
Of course, Samuel wasn’t willing!
His face was cold.
“Grandpa, there’s no need. I have something to do. I’ll come to see you tomorrow morning.”
She hadn’t been with Ben for a long time. It was time for her to have a drink and chat with him!
“Okay, okay, okay. You’ve worked hard.”
Samuel disagreed and said sarcastically, “Humph, didn’t you say that you wanted to stay by Grandpa’s side all the time? Do you think it’s fun to say that? I know you’re not serious about taking care of Grandpa.”
Elizabeth scratched her head. “When did she say that?”
-This scheming guy actually said it in front of Grandpa. It was obvious that he was digging a hole for her to jump into.
Chapter 74
Elizabeth couldn’t refuse in front of Old Mr. York. She had to consider Old Mr. York’s mood.
She glared at him and pulled a chair from the side. “Okay, I’ll stay here and watch over Grandpa.”
Old Mr. York, who had always protected her, did not say anything. He and Samuel both saw her receive a message. He wondered if it was Henry who asked her to go out.
“I’m going to buy you something to eat.” Samuel was quite self–aware.
Hearing this, Elizabeth immediately became blunt. “I want a large portion of noodles, two drumsticks, a cup of milk tea, and…”
“Are you a pig? Why are you eating so much in the middle of the night?”
“What does it have to do with you whether I’m a pig or not? You’re not qualified to touch me!”
Samuel was speechless.
Old Mr. York was at a loss for words.
Elizabeth wished she could bite off her tongue. The ward was terribly quiet.
She had forgotten that her grandfather was still in front of her.
Ouch! Elizabeth was so annoyed that she wanted to slam her head against the wall.
She comforted herself, “It’s okay. As long as I’m not embarrassed, it’s others who will be embarrassed.”
Old Mr. York broke the awkward silence with a smile. “I like you very much now. At least you’re lively. I was worried that you would be depressed before.”
“Haha.” Elizabeth really didn’t know how to answer.
Samuel said sternly, “It’s not shameful for a girl to say such things. Grandpa, the rules of the York family have always been strict. Even if you want to be partial, you shouldn’t be so obvious. You raised Elizabeth. If this is spread out, others will only say that our family doesn’t teach her well and bring shame to our family.”
Elizabeth wished he could rip off this guy’s head. Wasn’t he tired of keep talking about the rules?
Tomas didn’t want to listen, so he scolded, “Buy the supper!”
Samuel was speechless.
Elizabeth proudly made a face at Samuel.
“I told you not to argue with me, humph!”
Samuel left the ward with a gloomy face, and Leo followed behind his boss in fear.
Every time Samuel was with Miss Jones, he would have such an expression on his face, which made his subordinates panic.
After entering the elevator, Samuel asked coldly, “How’s the investigation going?”
“It’s Miss Dodson.”
