Chapter 169
Fiona POV
“You drugged my mate and then dared to drug another Alpha, and you stand there denying it all.
My voice was filled with contempt. My sister stared at me, putting a hand to her cheek where I had clearly seen a large red handprint on it. Part of me was angry I hadn’t hit her harder. She deserved it. I raised my hand again, and my father moved to intervene, quickly grabbing my hand in mid–air and holding it gently as I looked at him.
“I know you’re angry,” he told me softly, “but you need to let us get to the bottom of this. Alpha Liam,” he nodded at my mate, “please come and get your mate.”
I yanked my hand away from him, feeling angered beyond all control. My wolf was desperate to come out, wanting to teach Celeste a valuable lesson, one that would remain with her for a long, long time.
“You’re taking her side again,” I growled, feeling frustrated.
It was always the same thing. I was disappointed at how blind they all were. When were they going to see the full extent of what Celeste was capable of?
“No.” My father, Xander, shakes his head, a grim expression on his face. “I’m exercising caution. It’s innocent until proven guilty.”
“My mate’s word is not enough,” I snarled, pointing to Lia,m who was standing up the crowd now. “Are you saying that he’s lying?” I asked as the pack behind me began to chatter excitedly amongst themselves again.
“No, but we have to give the benefit of the doubt,” he continued to argue.
“There is no doubt, at least not in my mind,” I thundered.
She was guilty as sin. My hands were itching to beat her into a pulp, and my wolf was in full agreement with me. Even the pack was not blind to Celeste’s faults, only my so–called parents. It was laughable.
“You want proof?” Alpha Max’s voice is silky as he continues to stare at Celeste with hatred simmering in his gaze.
“Proof that she’s done as you are stating. With all due respect, this is our daughter, and if you were in the same position, I would hope you would do the same,” Regan said, staring directly at Alpha Max.
He shrugs. “I would hope I had raised my daughter better than to do such a thing. As it is, it’s easy to see how much you coddle one daughter while pushing aside the other. I feel sorry for Luna Fiona,” he added, causing Regan to blush and my two fathers, or at least whom I had considered to be my fathers before I severed ties, glance angrily at him.
“We treat them exactly the same. Fiona is the one who severed ties with us,” Regan announced haughtily.
Alpha Max snorted. “Blind as well as stupid. No matter. If it’s proof you want, then proof I shall provide,” he said easily.
Celeste had remained silent during this exchange. I saw her swallow hard. She was swaying on her feet, and I knew she would try something to prevent Alpha Max from bringing us the proof. Sure enough, as he began to make his way towards us all, she suddenly pretended to faint, her body crumpling to the floor.
“Celeste,” Luna Regan shrieked, quickly rushing to her side.
I snorted. “She’s fine. She’s just trying to prolong the inevitable. She’s a good actress but not that good. Celeste should just get up. No matter what she tries, it’s not going to prevent the truth from coming out. Watch” I added and then subtly kicked her hard, right in front of everyone.
She shrieked in pain. Regan reluctantly stood back up, eyeing her daughter with disapproval.

“Celeste,” she said, exhaling, “enough of this nonsense. Stand up while we see what proof Alpha Max has. If you are as innocent as you claim to be, then it shouldn’t be a problem.

Oh, it would be a problem, alright. Celeste was about to get her just desserts. My mate came to my side, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder. Alpha Max came to the forefront, fishing his phone out of his pocket. He brought a video up and pressed play. All of us gathered together, except for Celeste, watching as a surveillance camera showed her in the club, making her way past Alpha Max and directly placing a drug of some description into his drink. Regan looked astounded, turning to her daughter in disgust.
“Tell me there’s some mistake. Tell me I didn’t just see what I thought I saw,” she snarled.
Celeste took a step backwards. My fathers moved to prevent her from leaving. Xavier looked disgusted. “Do you have any idea of what that kind of drug does to your system? You rendered the man incapable of consenting and for what Celeste,” he growled as she flushed.
“I just wanted to teach him a lesson,n” she burst out as Alpha Max stopped the video and began to put his phone back in his pocket. “He was so damn arrogant and rude when he turned me down. I just wanted…” she stammered before beginning to
weep,
Ah the victim again. This time however to my surprise, Regan and her mates, Xavier and Xander were not falling for it. They all looked repulsed. Alpha Max grinned at Celeste who looked on the verge of falling over. This was not how she had envisioned her alpha ceremony happening but to me, I couldn’t have been any happier watching her be destroyed right in front of my very eyes.
“What about my mate? He didn’t refuse you or act arrogantly,” I reminded her. “you wanted him because he didn’t want you. He wanted his mate which just so happened to be me. You’re nothing more than a liar, Celeste,” I said heavily, shaking my head, “and what’s happened today only proves you are not fit to be Alpha of this pack.”
“She’s right.”
“It’s disgusting to think of having somebody like that as our Luna.”
“She deserves to be punished. Why are you hesitating?”
“They’re just going to wash over it. They never discipline their daughter,” another pack member commented loudly.
Regan blushed. She looked embarrassed now. She bit her lip. Alpha Max waited impatiently. Finally she spoke. “Perhaps we should take this to the stud,y” she suggested quietly and a little impatiently.
The pack looked on gleefully. Celeste whimpered and grabbed at her mother’s arm. “Mother, please don’t punish me,” she whispered through shaking lips. “I made a mistake. Don’t take the position away from me.”
“She deserves to lose it,” A pack member yelled out and there were shouts of agreement.
Alpha Max looked at the boisterous crowd and then at me. He bowed his head respectfully. “Luna Fiona, what would you like to do? I ask, only because nobody else has sought your opinion,” he shot a meaningful glance at my parents, “and you have been the only one to comport yourself as a Luna should. Your mate is a lucky man,” he said unexpectedly.
I admired him. Even now, he was maintaining his composure and remaining respectful, given the circumstances.
“Let’s take this to the study.” I repeated Regan’s words, “and allow you to keep some of your dignity, Alpha Max. Let me be the first one to apologize to you. What happened was terrible and no doubt has had an impact on you personally.”
“No need to apologize on behalf of a family member that you no longer consider family. I thank you, though, for your kindness,” he told me sincerely.
I turned and began to lead the way back to the pack house, ingroing everybody else except my mate. Alpha Max followed willingly while Regan, her mates and Celeste followed silently behind. I knew the route off by heart and motioned for Alpha Max to take a seat. Xavier and Xander sat down behind the desk, tight expressions on their faces and Regan chose to remain standing, along with Liam and myself. Alpha Max cleared his throat.

“As you are no doubt aware, Celeste has broken the law. She’s done something illegal and I don’t intend for her to get away with what she did. I’m well in my rights to demand a trial or even an execution based on her actions. However, I am also not the only victim” he glances meaningfully at my mate, “and therefore now the both of us will have to come to some sort of arrangement or agreement in what is the best decision for us both.”
“I have no intentions of taking this from you Alpha Max. Whatever you decide, I will support wholeheartedly. All I care about is that I now have my mate and she did not succeed with me.”
My mate’s voice is strong. Alpha Max nods and then turns to Regan and the others, the Luna and the Alpha’s of the pack. “Then I think we should have a discussion don’t you? I want your daughter” he said quietly “but not for the reason you might
think.”
