Chapter 64
Xavier POV
I look at my mate resting in Xander’s arms, the moonlight bouncing off her pale skin, her hair limply hanging down her back as she arches it softly in her sleep. She’s so beautiful Exquilte. Everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more. My wolf silently agrees as we walk. Regan had understood exactly how we felt, but I never thought she would comfort us in this way or accept us fully. She had given us a gift, far more precious than anything we could have hoped for. My groin clenched remembering the sound of her cries and whimpers, even as I continued to scan the surrounding wilderness, ensuring safe passage for our mate and that there were no unwelcome surprises. Now that we had claimed Regan and declared her as our mate, there would always be those that were jealous of her station and Isabelle was just one of those that came to mind.
“Should we wake her!” Xander nods as he places Regan gently on the bed and eyes her with tenderness.
I hesitate. She’s so tired, but there’s dried blood on her thighs and I know that she’ll want to clean up. I want to help clean her up. I gently smooth back her hair and then gently shake her Little wolf Lwhisper, liking the sound of my pet name for her, and she blinks, opening her eyes. I see Xander head into the bathroom and then hear the sound of running water. I don’t have to mind–link with him to know that he’s started the bath, knowing how sore she’ll be down below.
“Where are we?” she’s slightly disorientated, glancing around in daze.
“Back at the packhouse. You’re in mine and Xander’s room” I answer honestly.
It had never even occurred to me to take her to her own room. She’ll never sleep in a separate room again. Not if we can help it. She doesn’t answer, sitting up tiredly, a look of exhaustion on her face. I feel sorry for her but know that the sooner we get this done, the quicker she can go back to sleep.
I pick her up as the sound of the water running stops. She doesn’t protest, she merely clutches at me. I walk her into the bathroom where Xander is waiting and climb into the large tub with her, placing her in between my legs, and seating her. Xander hops in, sitting on her other side. The tub is big enough to fit up to four people, if necessary, designed that way because we knew we would want to bathe with our future Luna. Xander hands me a washcloth, another one in his hand. I grab the soap, before washing her legs as she yawns out loud, looking taken aback by all the affection we are bestowing on her.
“I can do this” she protests thickly, but neither Xander nor I answer her.
We want to take care of her aches and pains. We want to make her feel loved and cherished. We want her to feel as though she’s one with us. I gently slide the washcloth down, wiping between her legs as she gives a low hiss of pain.
“Sorry sweetheart” I murmured sympathetically while glancing at her apologetically “I’m trying to be gentle.”
I kissed her neck in an attempt to distract her. She sighed. Her hands played with the water, and Xander began to wipe down her back, taking his time. She gave a small moan and flung her head back, causing both of us to stiffen. Damn. Even though it hadn’t been long since we had her, already both of us were craving her again. I gritted my teeth and forced myself to focus on Regan and her needs. There would be plenty of time, I hoped, for that kind of thing later, if she was up for it again.
“So tired” she mumbled sleepily, sounding adorable.
“I know,” I told her, even as I made sure all the blood was gone from her thighs, cleaning her between her legs and paying careful attention not to miss anything. “We’ll get you clean and then you can go to sleep” I promised.
We would all get clean and go to sleep, I amended silently in my mind, glancing at Xander who looked just as beat as I did. It had been a long and trying day and both of us just wanted to start the next one anew, relishing the chance to sleep together in the same bed with our mate. At least the elders would be gone and there was no more dealing with their interference, I thought grimly.
When we were finished with her, both of us fighting the ardor we had for our mate, knowing that Regan couldn’t possibly take us again so soon, we climbed out. I wrapped a towel around my waist and then picked her up, Xander wrapping her in a

towel as I clutched her, walking her back into the bedroom.
“I have legs” she pouted as I grinned and lay her on the bed.
“Yes, but why use them when you have us” I purred, making her blush..
I stripped my towel off as she sat up, her eyes widening as she looked at my genitalia, before quickly glancing away. I grinned as Xander did the same. She hastily pulled her towel away and then looked around confused. I wondered what she was thinking.
“Don’t you, I mean, shouldn’t we put nightclothes on she asked in shock as Xander climbed up and over to the other side of her, completely at ease in his nudity as was 1.
“We always sleep in the nude” Xander said, eyeing her with a wicked grin, causing Regan to stare at the bedspread, her cheeks a rosy red. “It’s too hot otherwise,” he said solemnly while I nodded in agreement.
Shifters tended to run hot. Even with air conditioning, there was no need to wear clothes. We would only end up pulling them off during the night in frustration. Unless it was the peak of winter and there was snow, we slept just fine without the added addition of extra warmth.
I climbed in, pulling Regan’s towel away from her and throwing it carelessly in the direction of the bathroom, without looking. “Besides, we want to feel you pressed in between us” I added with a hint of glee, licking her ear and causing her to jump, startled, “and you don’t ever need to cover up and hide from us. You’re perfect” I told her meaningfully.
It wasn’t just her looks that attracted me to her, but also her heart and mind. My wolf adored her and would just about do urything for Regan. I didn’t blame him. We were both enamored with her. Xander was just as lost when it came to our mate. We were like putty in her hands.
“So perfect,” Xander said agreeably, turning over and deliberately looking over her as she hesitated
She slowly lay down, a look of hesitance on her face, and Xander turned and rolled, looking into her. He immediately put his arm over her, while she obediently snuggled into him. He looked triumphant as he held her. I moved behind her, getting into position, feeling her body tense slightly before she relaxed as 1 entwined my legs in with hers and put my own arm over her waist as well, feeling possessive. She was buried between us. I could hear her heart beating rapidly in her chest. I smiled to myself, finding the sound oddly soothing
“Go to sleep little wolf” I licked her ear, enjoying the flush on her cheeks and the tinge of red that appeared on the tips of her ears. “We’ll keep you safe” I added, my hand stroking her hip
“Nobody will touch you while we’re here” Xander added with a yawn of his own, snuggling and sniffing our mate with appreciation. “And you smell so good” he growled.
Regan gave a small laugh. It was like listening to music, the sourkl joyful and like the tinkling of bells. “How am I meant to. sleep with you two on me” she complained, but I could hear the smile in her voice.
She didn’t mean it. She secretly enjoyed the fact we were cuddled so close together, I could tell.
“Well, we could do something other than sleep” I spoke meaningfully and watched as she tensed “but I suspect you’re not up for it, so we’ll settle for holding you like this and sleeping beside you instead.”–
I kissed her temple, and she immediately relaxed. I thought she would take longer to fall asleep but within moments her soft snores were filling the room.
Our mate is perfect, iny–wolf said with satisfaction as my own eyes began to close and I began to fall asleep, my arm tightly gripping her. I couldn’t agree more.
