Chapter 97
Antonio remembered that back then, whenever he brought me along, everyone was green with envy over his awesome secretary.
Unfortunately, all of that was ruined that night.
After that reckless night, everything changed.
Antonio still didn’t get why I would go to such lengths to degrade myself and scheme my way into his bed.
All he knew was that when he woke up that morning and found me next to him, all the admiration he had for me turned into hatred.
The more he used to think I was great, the more he ended up hating me.
So even though we had to marry because of Ivan, he still couldn’t make peace with me.
He even deliberately chose Molly, who was the total opposite of me, as a way to thumb his nose at the whole marriage thing.
But now, with Molly getting more and more out of line, Antonio was starting to feel fed up.
Antonio’s heart pounded as he pictured me and Ivan walking away with such determination.
Maybe it was time for him to stop acting so childish.
Chapter 07
Maybe I had changed after all these years.
Maybe…
At 6 pm, Antonio showed up at a dinner party thrown by their partner with Molly in tow.
He hadn’t seen me all day and was kind of lost in thought while holding a glass of wine.
“Am I being too much this time?”
That thought suddenly through his mind.
Antonio pursed his lips, then downed the rest of his drink.
He took out his phone, about to text me, but got interrupted by the partner who came up to him.
“Mr. Kaufman, about the plan from last time…”
Antonio snapped out of it, pushed aside his thoughts, and got into work mode.
Everyone was enjoying their conversation when an out–of–place comment broke in.
“Mr. Kaufman, this dessert is good,” Molly said, holding a chocolate cupcake and looking as naive as could be.
The chat came to a halt, and everyone looked pretty ticked off.
But Molly didn’t get the hint. She grinned and pushed her way to Antonio, trying to feed him the cake.
Caught off guard, Antonio ended up with chocolate and cream

smeared all over his face.
Molly was shocked and reached out to wipe it off.
Antonio stepped back as if he had seen a ghost.
“Enough!”
Molly halted, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Mr. Kaufman, what’s wrong with you? You weren’t like this before.”
Antonio took a deep breath, about to say something, but then he noticed the odd looks from the partners.
When he looked their way, Jamel gave an awkward smile.
“Mr. Kaufman, handle your matters. We can talk about the plan another time.”
The others echoed.
“Right, go ahead.”
“We’ll catch up next time.”
With that, they quickly left.
Antonio had no excuse to stop them, and he felt too awkward to try.
A business meeting that should have gone smoothly was now a mess, all because of Molly.
Antonio couldn’t even think about how he’d be the laughing

stock in the industry after this.
Sure enough, that was what happened.
After they left, Jamel and the others found a spot to gossip about Antonio.
“Do you think Mr. Kaufman has some kind of weird thing going on?”
Jamel, a man in his fifties, couldn’t hold back and spoke up first.
Brian let out a tsk.
“Maybe young people are into that sort of thing.”
Jamel shook his head, still not getting it.
“Grace from before was so much better, smart, efficient, and most importantly, she knew how to read the room.
“I just don’t get why she wouldn’t leave the Stellaris Group. I’ve tried to headhunt her a few times, but no luck.”
Brian just smiled, not saying anything.
Truth was, he had tried to headhunt me too.
Meanwhile, Antonio looked at Molly, fuming with anger.
“Molly, look what you’ve done!”
Molly’s eyes were red, like she was really wronged.
