Sabrina’s persistence was becoming unbearable.

As the head of the design department and a long–time employee of the company, how could she lack such basic judgment?
“Sabrina, you’re in the design department. You don’t need to worry about the press conference. Instead of spending time on this, you should focus on improving your department’s work,” I said,
Sabrina was immediately furious, “I’ve never met anyone so shameless! You clearly plagiarized and still refuse to admit it. I’m going to report this to Mr. Holbrook and have him cancel the press conference!”
“Caden has entrusted me with full responsibility for the press conference,” I deflected, frustrated by the situation.
“What? That’s impossible!” Sabrina refused to believe it. She then sneered, “Rosaline, you really think too highly of yourself. How could Mr. Holbrook possibly give the press conference to a plagiarist like you?”
I was getting genuinely annoyed and decided to ignore her. However, she blocked my way and kept questioning me with an aggressive attitude.
More and more colleagues gathered around, whispering among themselves.
Suddenly, a familiar cold voice rang out, “I gave Rosaline responsibility for the press release. Do any of you have a problem with that?”
I looked up to see Caden’s familiar figure in the hallway.
“Why did you gather around here during working hours?” Caden’s voice was stern.
The crowd of employees immediately fell silent and quickly returned to their desks, not daring to make a sound.
“Mr. Holbrook,” Sabrina rushed over to him. “Did you see the news? Heartstone Jewels just released a design that looks exactly like Rosaline’s ‘Ice and Fire‘ design.”
“So what?” Caden frowned.
Sabrina was stunned. She looked back and forth between me and Caden, then shouted, “That means Rosaline’s plagiarized those designs!”
Fearing that Caden might not understand, Sabrina took out her phone and showed him the online design from Heartstone Jewels.
“Here, here, and here. The jewelry Heartstone Jewels released looks almost identical to Rosaline’s ‘Ice and Fire. And the key idea, the Unbound concept, proves Rosaline copied Marilyn.”
Caden shot Sabrina a cold look. “Why didn’t you question if Marilyn copied Rosaline?”
Sabrina bit her lip and said, “Mr. Holbrook, Marilyn is one of the top jewelry designers. She’s won several prestigious international awards in recent years. How could she possibly copy someone like Rosaline, who doesn’t even understand design?”

Defeated, Sabrina walked away. The rest of the employees under Caden’s cold gaze returned to their. workstations.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the press conference in 2 days and immediately focused back on my tasks.
After all, I had to make sure everything went flawlessly.
This press conference wasn’t just about the company reputation–it was also about my reputation as a designer.
As the night grew late, I continued working at my desk.
Suddenly, I heard familiar footsteps approaching. I looked up to find Caden standing there, holding a thermos.
“Aren’t you going home?” I asked in surprise.
He placed the thermos on my desk and said in a low voice, “Your dinner.”
Dinner?
I suddenly realized I hadn’t eaten yet.
How did Caden know I hadn’t had dinner?
And why had he brought it to me himself?
“Open it and take a look,” Caden said, the rare softness in his voice surprising me.
I hesitated but opened the thermos. The smell of food wafted up, and inside were all my favorite homemade dishes.
“Where did this come from?” I sniffed the smell, my stomach growling as soon as the scent reached me. I’d forgotten about dinner in my focus on work.
Caden slightly smiled as he looked at me. “I made it.”
He made it?
There wasn’t a kitchen in the office, so he must have gone home and prepared it himself, all so he could just to bring it to
- me.
A warm feeling spread through me, and I smiled at him. “Thank you!”
“Try it and see if you like it,” Caden said, clearly in a good mood as he sat down next to me.
I didn’t want to be rude, so I tried the food and genuinely praised it as I ate.
Just then, my phone rang with a cheerful ringtone.
Caden’s eyes flicked to my phone, and when he saw the caller ID as Jasper on the screen, his face visibly darkened.
I ignored him and answered the call. “Jasper; is there something you need?”
“It’s me. Rosaline.” lasner’s deep voice came through. filled with concern. “I saw the news about Heartstone

Jewels today, and I know it put you at a disadvantage. But don’t worry, I’ll testify for you, proving you didn’t plagiarize.”
I put the phone on speaker so Caden could hear.
“When I shot the endorsement ad, the sample for jewelry had already been created. We used it during the shoot, so I can prove the sample was made before Heartstone Jewels‘ news came out yesterday. I’ve also contacted Bruce and Naomi, and they’re willing to testify for you as well.”
Jasper was sincere, but Caden didn’t seem to care as he curled his lips into a disinterested smile.
Sigh, these competitive men!
Even though Jasper and his team could testify, Heartstone Jewels would have likely anticipated this and prepared their own counterattack.
Proving that Heartstone Jewels had plagiarized at the press conference in 2 days wouldn’t be as simple as it seemed.
But I already had a plan in mind, so I wasn’t worried.
I looked at Caden and gave a faint smile. “Thanks, but I can handle this on my own. What I’m really more concerned about right now is how my design got leaked.”
