Chapter 12 Wolfsbane.
Rosaline’s POV:
Finished
The moment the scent hit my nose, Freya surged forward, taking control of my body. I transformed into a wolf instantly.
In the corner of the warehouse were several crates I was supposed to organize, and the strong stench of wolfshane was wafting from them.
“Danger.” Freya growled, her instincts on high alert.
Suddenly, the warehouse lights went out. Freya immediately took a few steps back, her eyes scanning the darkened space. her hackles raised. I could feel the tension in her body as we moved together, one soul in
two forms.
Freya stepped carefully toward the door and brushed her tail against it.
The heavy door was locked
“Can you open it?” I asked anxiously.
Freya swiped at the door with her claws, but the heavy metal just screeched under the force, leaving only deep scratches behind.
The door was locked from the outside, and there was no way to apply pressure from the inside. Even Freya, with her strength, couldn’t break through it.
“D“mn it, this door isn’t just for keeping people out. It’s meant to keep wolves in.”
“Then we’ll find another way out. There must be a window or a ventilation shaft. This warehouse can’t be completely sealed,” I said.
I hated wolfsbane. This poison was the wolf’s greatest enemy. It was the reason my parents died. They were injured by wolfsbane and then attacked by other werewolves.
That night was eerily similar to the situation I found myself in now. The surroundings were pitch black, and the air was thick with the nauseating scent of wolfsbane. The toxic plant could paralyze a werewolf, rendering our muscles weak and stripping away our strength.
Freya leaped with all her might, but halfway through the jump, she let out a pained whimper.
D’mn it, there were more wolfsbane traps positioned above us.
Unfortunately, Freya had been exposed to some of it, and I could feel her strength slowly draining as the poison began to seep into her, weakening her with every passing second.
I focused my Alpha energy, sending it to her, reinforcing her will.
She managed to gain strength though her movements were sluggish. She looked up at the dark ceiling with frustration in her eyes.
“We can’t get out,” she muttered. “Why is there wolfsbane in Eclipse Pack’s warehouse?
“Such a thing can harm werewolves, but it can also be used as a weapon against other packs. Most werewolf

Freya growled fiercely. “I’m going to rip that b*tch apart,”

I quickly took control again, urging Freya to revert to human form. The warehouse was heavily secured, and with her large wolf paws, she wouldn’t be able to use a phone to call for help.
I forced myself to stay conscious, pulling out my phone with trembling hands. My vision was already blurring from the poison’s effects. I barely managed to type out a message, the words fading in and out of
focus.
Everything went black after I sent my final plea for help.
Caden’s POV:
“It’s already 11 o’clock, and Rosaline still isn’t back. Who knows where she’s off to now….
I was feeling thirsty and went downstairs to grab a drink of water when I overheard Queenie’s voice.
“That’s what you get from a bumpkin. She doesn’t know any better. If she were raised properly, she wouldn’t be out this late. Who knows what she’s doing outside?”
I found her words odd, but after the way Rosaline treated me yesterday, that odd feeling quickly faded.
It didn’t really matter to me what she was doing anyway.
My mother looked up at me with a serious expression. “Caden, it’s one thing for Rosaline to behave like this on her own, but if word gets out, it could ruin your reputation. After all, people know she’s your fiancée. I think it’s better to call off the engagement now before it causes any more trouble.”
I nodded indifferently. “Grandpa said we could call it off after three months.”
“Three months?” she shrieked. “It’s only been a few days, and I’m already losing patience. You should talk to your grandfather again and get rid of her, fast. The longer she stays, the more trouble she’ll cause.”
“Why don’t you talk to him?” I said, glancing at her.
She immediately fell silent. My grandfather valued his relationship with Shadow Pack too much to risk it, and he took family matters seriously. If she went to him with this, she’d just end up getting scolded.
I drank my water and didn’t bother to respond further. Instead, I went upstairs to my study.
My phone was on the desk, blinking with a new message notification,
I opened it, and the words that appeared made my stomach twist.
“Help me.”
It was from an unknown number. I didn’t recognize the sender, and at first, I thought it might be a prank by some wolf in the pack. I put the phone down and went back to finishing my work.
But that number felt strangely familiar.
