Chapter 134 A Disadvantage for Us
Just as expected.
I nodded slightly. “The current situation isn’t looking good for us, right?”
“No, it isn’t,” Yale replied gravely.

After a brief moment of contemplation, I said, “Our top priority now is to uncover the truth behind this. We can only restore the company’s reputation by exposing the mastermind and revealing the facts to the public.”
“I’ll do my best,” Yale responded firmly.
“Ms. Sinclair, you should head back and get some rest. I’ll keep watch here. Everything will be fine,” Yale suggested, glancing at me with concern.
“I want to stay with Caden,” I shook my head.
Yale chuckled softly. “Ms. Sinclair, you’re injured too. You need proper rest. You wouldn’t want to collapse from exhaustion before Mr. Holbrook even wakes up, would you? Don’t worry. I’m here with the werewolf warrior. Nothing will happen to him.”
After thinking it over, I nodded in agreement.
I was indeed exhausted after the long day, and there were some things I needed to handle quickly.
“Alright, I’ll head back and rest. I’ll come by again in the morning.”
-Caden’s POV:
I only opened my eyes after hearing Rosaline’s footsteps fade away as she left the room.
Outside, Yale was giving instructions to the werewolf warrior.
“Stay here, and don’t let anyone in. Understood?”
“Yes, sir!”
Yale entered the room, closing the door behind him. When he saw me awake, a smile crept onto his face.
I slowly sat up, leaning against the hospital bed, my voice cold as I asked, “She’s gone? She didn’t suspect anything, did she?”
Yale shook his head with a grin. “No, Ms. Sinclair genuinely believes you’re in a coma. She looks worried sick.”
I
gave a faint hum in response.
“Why are you keeping even Ms. Sinclair in the dark? Seeing her that anxious almost makes me feel guilty,” Yale teased.
I shot him a sidelong glance. “The fewer people who know, the better.”
When the ceiling collapsed, I was actually only lightly injured.

The explosion’s shockwave was intense, and while protecting Rosaline, I was knocked unconscious briefly.
But the explosion itself was too strange–almost as if it had been meticulously calculated, targeting both Rosaline and me specifically.
So, I decided to pretend to be severely injured and unconscious, making the mastermind think their plan had succeeded.
This way, I could operate from the shadows and lure them out.
It pained me to see Rosaline so upset, but this was the only way.
Thinking of this, I asked in a low voice, “What’s the situation now?”
Yale reported, “As we expected, there’s a flood of negative news about the company.”
My expression darkened. “Investigate Jones.”
Yale paused for a second, surprised. “You think he’s involved?”
I nodded. “Especially look into any connections between Jones and Heartstone Jewels.”
“Yes, Mr. Holbrook,” Yale replied solemnly.
Rosaline’s POV:
Back in my room, my heart remained heavy with worry.
I picked up my phone. News of the Eclipse Group’s warehouse explosion in Fostrau was everywhere, dominating headlines.
The comments were even more intense.
Eclipse Group deceives consumers, using cheap materials disguised as quality goods, leading to this massive explosion!‘
What if the explosion was staged by Eclipse Group itself to destroy evidence? A cover–up leaving no trace behind!‘
If it was staged, why would even the CEO get hurt? I still believe in Mr. Holbrook!‘
Staring at the screen, I rubbed my temples, trying to recall the moments before the explosion.
Both Caden and I were injured, yet Jones had conveniently stepped away to take a call, emerging completely unscathed.
Could it really be just a coincidence?
After some thought, I called Anthony.
“Wilda!” Anthony’s concerned voice came through immediately. “I saw the news. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” I replied. “I need you to look into someone for me.”
“No problem, as long as it’s not about Tessa,” he joked, agreeing readily.

“Check out Jones for me,” I said, massaging my forehead.
After hanging up, my mind drifted back to Caden’s pale face.
I couldn’t shake the worry, so I turned around and headed straight for the 18th floor.

When I reached his room, the werewolf warrior blocked my way, standing firm. “Sorry, Ms. Sinclair, you can’t go in,” one of them said politely but firmly.
Clearly, Yale had given them strict instructions. But faintly, I could hear voices inside the room. It sounded like Caden.
My heart raced.
Could he be awake?
Without hesitation, I dialed Yale.
“Is Caden awake?” I asked directly.
“No,” Yale replied calmly.
Disappointment washed over me. Biting my lip, I said, “I’m outside his room. I’m still worried. Can I go in and check on him?”
