I let out an indifferent smile before speaking with measured confidence, “Of course not. Every word Jones said was a lie. It’s all fabricated from thin air with the sole purpose of smearing Eclipse Group’s reputation.”
The reporter didn’t hesitate, thrusting the microphone in my direction. “Do you have any proof that Jones is lying? And why would he do this? He gains nothing from it!”
A cold chuckle escaped my lips. “If the explosion was intentional, as Jones claims, then why were both Caden and I caught in it? Why were we injured?”
I rolled up my sleeve, revealing a stark contrast between my pale, delicate skin and the dark red wound that stood out against it. The sight was jarring.
I locked eyes with Jones, my gaze sharp. “If I and Caden had known about the explosion in advance, do you think we’d have chosen that exact moment to walk into Warehouse No. 1? Now, Caden is lying unconscious on a hospital bed. Do you think he would gamble his life and safety like that?”
After hearing my words, murmurs rippled through the crowd.
“That’s true. Reports from the hospital confirmed that Caden was gravely injured when the ceiling collapsed on him. He’s been in a coma for days, and there’s a chance he might never wake up.”
“Yeah, if this was all part of a plan, why would they willingly put themselves in danger? It doesn’t make any sense.”
A spark of something sinister flickered across Jones’s eyes. “That’s exactly what makes it a perfect act of self- sacrifice. You just didn’t expect an accident to happen, and Caden to get seriously hurt.”
My tone was laced with mockery, “An accident? No, I’d say this was a purely coincidence. It happened precisely when Caden and I stepped into that warehouse. And you, Jones, you conveniently received a phone call right before it happened and walked away without a single scratch!”
Jones’s brows knitted together. “What exactly are you implying?”
I stared at him coldly. “I’m saying you are the mastermind behind the explosion, Jones. You are the one responsible for the radioactive contamination in the ‘Ice and Fire‘ products.”
“You’re spouting rubbish!” Jones snapped, “You’re just desperate, Ms. Sinclair. You’re pushing all the blame onto me because I exposed the truth?”
“Desperate? If anything, that title suits you better.” I let out a soft laugh. “You deliberately mixed the raw materials with radioactive elements, leading to toxic contamination in the ‘Ice and Fire‘ products
manufactured in Fostrau, leading to consumer poisoning. Then, you lured Caden and me to Warehouse No. 1 where you planted a bomb. That call you received wasn’t random. It was you giving the signal to detonate. You went through all this trouble. What exactly were you after?”
Jones waved a hand dismissively as he turned to the reporters. “Ms. Sinclair certainly knows how to spin a tale. But don’t let an Omega’s one–sided accusations fool you.”
I sneered, “Whether it’s a tale or the truth, we’ll find out soon enough.”
After saying that, my gaze shifted toward the conference room’s entrance.
Where’s Caden? Why hasn’t he been here yet? By now, Yale should have secured the evidence. If I calculate the timing
correctly Caden chould he arrinina anu minuto. Unlose comothing unexpected happened?

I glanced toward the entrance, but the doorway remained empty, without any sign of Caden’s arrival.
I have no choice. For now, I can only use what Anthony sent me to delay time.
Pushing aside my concerns, I cleared my throat and fixed my sharp gaze on Jones. “Jones, I have a phone recording here. Would you like to listen to it?”
Jones visibly stiffened. “What recording?”
I held up my phone, giving it a slight wave. “You’ll understand once you hear it.”
Under the watchful eyes of a group of reporters, I quickly pulled up the file Anthony had sent me. Placing my phone near the microphone, I pressed the play button.
The moment the recording started, the voices of two people could be heard from the phone.
“Hello, is everything ready?” The voice belonged to Jones.
A woman’s voice responded, cold and composed. “It’s ready. We can detonate at any time.”
“Perfect.” Jones’s tone turned sinister. “Blow it up in one minute.”
“No problem!” The woman’s voice rang out again.
What followed was the sound of hurried footsteps. It was likely Jones running to a safe distance.
A minute later, the woman’s voice returned. “Can I detonate now?”
“Ok!”
Even though it was just a recording, the sheer impact of the explosion reverberated through the room. The atmosphere turned suffocating, the weight of the moment pressing down on everyone present.
And then, Jones’s satisfied voice emerged once more, “Nice work.”
The recording ended.
