After breakfast, I carefully reviewed the proposal Yura had sent me and made a few suggestions.
Tonight’s charity gala was held at the Fostrau, a five–star hotel.
As the event’s organizer, Yura had been at the hotel since early morning, ensuring that everything was in place. When I arrived, I simply greeted her before settling into a quiet, inconspicuous corner.
At exactly 8:00 p.m., the auction officially began.
The host’s voice carried a rhythmic cadence as he announced, “Welcome, everyone, to tonight’s charity auction, hosted by Loe Studio. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to charitable causes. Thank you all for your generous support! We have ten items up for bidding tonight, all generously donated by Loe Studio. We hope each piece finds its destined owner.”
Applause filled the room as the host continued, “Let the auction begin!”
“The first item up for bidding is a Verdant Glaze Bowl from the Eldoria Dynasty. Please welcome our usher.”
A poised and elegant usher stepped onto the stage, carrying a delicate tray with both hands. The host lifted the red cloth covering the tray, revealing a jade–green bowl.
“The starting bid for this Glaze Bowl is 500,000 dollars, with a minimum increment of 50,000 dollars. Interested bidders, please place your offers!”
I glanced at the bowl–it was something my grandfather had once given me as a keepsake.
Hubert had a passion for collecting antiques, especially pieces from the Eldoria Dynasty. His collection had -grown so vast that it was practically overflowing at home. Selling one for charity seemed like a fitting way to
put it to good use.
Soon, the bowl had a new owner, who secured it with a winning bid of two million dollars.
The next item was a remarkably lifelike plush cat.
“This plush cat is adorable, isn’t it?” the host introduced enthusiastically. “But don’t underestimate it. It was handcrafted by the internationally renowned master Loe. The cat’s eyes are even adorned with diamonds, making it highly collectible.”
A murmur of excitement spread through the audience. “So it was personally made by Loe? That’s incredibly
rare.”
“It must be worth a fortune. I wonder who will take it home.”
I had sewn this plush cat myself and was rather fond of it. I planned to buy it back.
The host’s voice rang out once more. “The starting bid for this cat is one million dollars, with a minimum increment of 100,000 dollars. Bidding starts now.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the bids rolled in. “1.2 million dollars!”
“1.5 million dollars!”
“Two million dollars!”

The price continued to climb, quickly reaching five million dollars.
“The current bid is five million dollars. Any higher offers?” the host called out.
I curled my lips into a faint smile and raised my paddle. “Ten million dollars.”
The host’s voice grew even more animated. “The lady has bid ten million dollars. Do I hear…”
Before he could finish, a woman sharply raised her paddle. “Twelve million dollars!”
I was slightly taken aback. Turning to look, I caught her glaring at me with undisguised hostility.
Wendy?
Her eyes flashed with provocation. I met her gaze with a calm smile and raised my paddle again.
“Fifteen million dollars.”
Wendy’s POV:
How could a lowly Omega like Rosaline possibly have that much money? She must have seduced some man into paying for it.
It was probably Caden’s money.
I glanced around the room, but Caden was nowhere in sight.
Standing up, I strode over to Rosaline, looking down at her with a smirk. “Rosaline, you’re going to spend that much on a stuffed cat? Does Caden know?”
Rosaline rolled her eyes. “And what does that have to do with you?”
“So, he doesn’t know.” I let out a cold laugh. “If you win the bid but can’t afford to pay, won’t that be humiliating?”
“You don’t need to worry about that.” Rosaline’s lips curved in a serene smile as she casually pulled out a black card, flashing it in front of me.
The moment I saw that card, I remembered–back at Raveneaux Delux Studio, Rosaline had used this very card to snatch the Alice Signature Collection gown from me.
So she was just a shameless gold–digger.
Fury simmered inside me. There was no way I was letting her have this cat.
I raised my paddle again. “Twenty million dollars!”
