Rosaline’s POV:
I can’t believe Annie stole my medicine—and she holds such a grudge.

I thought erasing her memory of what just happened would be enough, but she tried to attack me with a knife.
She really must hate me.
“Caden, are you okay?” I gasped when I saw blood seeping from his arm.
“I’m fine.” Caden frowned slightly and lowered his gaze to my neck. “As long as you’re okay, that’s all that
matters.”
His words made my face heat up instantly.
Even at a time like this, he still knew how to make my heart race.
“Your arm is bleeding. Let me bandage it for you.” I quickly turned my head away.
Just then, the hotel staff rushed in, alerted by the commotion. They were stunned by the scene before them and immediately started apologizing. “Mr. Holbrook, we sincerely apologize. This was a serious failure on our part. We’re sorry for the fright you and Ms. Sinclair experienced.”
The staff hurriedly removed the two black wolves from the floor.
Meanwhile, Annie took advantage of the chaos to escape.
I didn’t bother chasing her. Attacking the rightful heir was a surefire way to land herself on the Werewolf Continent’s most–wanted list.
“Your arm is still bleeding. Let me stop the bleeding first.” I asked the staff for a first aid kit and helped Caden to the lounge.
Wendy’s POV:
The scene that greeted me when I arrived was infuriating.
I knew Rosaline would be attending the charity gala tonight, so I had Annie ambush her in the restroom. I even hired two werewolves to kidnap her.
And yet, these useless fools couldn’t even handle a low–ranking Omega like Rosaline. Not only did they fail, but they even injured Caden by mistake.
They were completely incompetent.
Now Rosaline was taking Caden to get treated. I wanted to follow them, but she blocked my way at the door. “Ms. Crawford, Caden is injured. This isn’t a good time for guests.”
I swallowed my resentment and glanced past her at Caden, who was sitting in a chair inside the lounge. “Caden, you’re hurt. Let me stay with you.”
Caden’s voice was icy. “Rosaline is here. That’s enough. You’re not needed.”

“Did you hear that? Now leave.” Rosaline slammed the door shut in my face.
I barely pulled my hand back in time to avoid getting caught.
I was furious.
Rosaline, you got lucky this time. But I refuse to believe your luck will last forever.
Next time, I’ll make sure there’s no way out for you.
Rosaline’s POV:
Now that we were alone in the lounge, I closed the door and turned around–only to see Caden taking off his shirt.
Caden had always been in great shape, but seeing him like this still took me off guard. His broad shoulders, well–defined chest, and eight–pack abs made him look effortlessly sexy. It was impossible to ignore.
Heat rushed to my face. “Caden! What are you doing taking off your shirt?” I snapped.
Caden gave me an amused look. “How else are you going to bandage my wound?” He gestured to the gash on his arm.
Fine…
I sighed. After all, he got hurt saving me–again.
I squinted slightly, deliberately avoiding looking anywhere I shouldn’t. Instead, I focused on dabbing iodine onto his wound and carefully wrapping it up.
After some time, I finally finished bandaging him.
“All done. Now put your shirt back on,” I huffed, packing up the first aid kit.
Caden dressed with effortless grace, then held out a small stuffed cat, placing it gently in my hands.
“Rosaline, this is for you. Don’t reject it again, okay?” His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.
My heart skipped a beat.
The image of Caden shielding me from that knife flashed through my mind.
This wasn’t the first time he had saved me.
Back when the warehouse exploded, Caden had thrown himself over me without hesitation.
Even before that, when Stella tried to stab me, he had stepped in to take the blow.
Time and time again, he risked his life for me. Was I just a stand–in for Tessa in his eyes?
For the first time, my heart wavered.
