Caden’s arm injury kept him in Fostrau for several days, but once it had largely healed, he was ready to go home.
As for Annie, she was nowhere to be found, but Caden did not hold her accountable for attacking him.
The sky was clear, stretching endlessly in all directions.
Just as I reached Caden’s private jet, my footsteps suddenly came to a halt.
“What’s wrong?” Caden looked at me curiously.
I shook my head lightly. “It’s nothing.”
But for some reason, an inexplicable sense of unease welled up in my chest.
It wasn’t just general unease; it was an intense premonition, as if something significant was about to happen.
This was the first time I had experienced such a strong premonition since becoming the Alpha of the Shadow Pack.
“Still worried about your fear of heights? Don’t be scared, I’m here,” Caden said, his large hand gently holding mine.
His cool, steady voice eased my tension a little. I smiled and followed behind him, boarding the plane.
The plane took off swiftly, soaring high into the clouds.
As I gazed out the window at the drifting clouds, my mind wandered.
The biggest gain from this trip to Fostrau was uncovering the mastermind behind the ‘Ice and Fire‘ incident, which allowed Eclipse Group to regain stability–and even rise to greater heights.
“By the way, have Jones and Marilyn confessed?” I turned my head slightly to glance at Caden and asked.
Caden furrowed his brows. “Jones took all the blame upon himself, while Marilyn completely distanced herself from everything.”
“I see … “I murmured thoughtfully. “Looks like Jones truly loves Marilyn.”
But it was a pity–Jones had been blinded by this so–called love, committing countless unforgivable acts.
Caden curled his lips slightly, but said nothing.
“I wonder how much involvement Heartstone Jewels had in all of this?” I rubbed my temples, then asked again.
Even though Jones had taken full responsibility, I couldn’t shake the feeling that things weren’t so simple.
Caden gazed at me, a rare warmth flickering in his eyes. “Stop thinking about it. You’ve been exhausted these past few days in Fostrau. Get some rest.”
“Fine.” I nodded obediently, feeling indeed a little tired. Closing my eyes, I let myself relax.

At first, the tremors were small, but they quickly grew more intense.
I jolted awake, instinctively grabbing Caden’s hand. “Caden, what’s happening?”

“Probably strong turbulence.” Caden pulled me into his embrace, his voice soothing. “Don’t worry, close your eyes. It’ll pass soon.”
His familiar warmth calmed me a little.
But the shaking only worsened.
Within seconds, Caden’s expression darkened. This kind of intense, prolonged turbulence was definitely not normal!
Something was wrong!
Suddenly, a flight attendant rushed over in panic. “Mr. Holbrook, bad news! The plane is out of control!”
What?!
Out of control?!
How could a perfectly fine plane suddenly lose control?
My heart clenched instantly, an overwhelming wave of fear surging through me.
The uneasy feeling I had before boarding … it was coming true.
Caden remained composed. He patted my shoulder, then stood up, his strikingly handsome face turning ice–cold. “I’ll go check it out.”
“I’m coming with you,” I said, standing up as well.
I had no intention of staying in this violently shaking cabin.
“Sure,” Caden responded with a low hum, then reached out with his right arm, pulling me close. His voice softened slightly. “It’s alright. Don’t be scared.”
The plane continued to shake violently. Each step forward felt incredibly difficult.
The fear gripping my heart grew stronger with every second.
Thankfully, Caden held onto me tightly, giving me a sense of security I had never felt before.
We quickly reached the cockpit.
“What’s going on?” Caden asked the pilot, his brows furrowed.
Covered in cold sweat, the pilot gripped the controls, his face ashen. “We’re going down! I can’t control it! The plane is going to crash!”
Crash?!
My heart leaped into my throat.
