“No, we won’t,” Caden said, his tight, protective embrace making me feel like the most precious thing in the
world.
“Really?” I nestled into Caden’s chest, my arms wrapping around his neck. His comforting presence gradually eased the fear and panic that had gripped my heart.
Caden lowered his gaze, looking at me deeply. His voice was steady, filled with certainty. “Trust me.”
I nodded firmly. “Alright.”
Together, we continued our slow descent from the sky.
I pressed against his chest.
I could even hear the strong, steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Memories surged through my mind like a flood.
Caden had always protected me, always thrown himself into danger for my sake.
Time and again, he had told me, “Rosaline, don’t be afraid. I will protect you.”
He had told me, “Rosaline, I’m pursuing you. Right now, the woman I want to spend my life with–is you.”
I looked up at the man holding me tightly.

I paused for a moment before meeting his eyes, my voice steady as I added, “No matter life or death.”
Caden’s eyes darkened with emotion. His lips curled into the faintest of smiles before he murmu d, “Rosaline… I’ve been waiting for this answer for so long.” And then, without another word, he kissed me.
“Rosie … Rosie … ” he whispered against my lips, his voice laced with longing as he deepened the kiss.
We clung to each other, locked in a passionate embrace, the world around us fading away.

Wrapping my arms around Caden, I finally forced myself to look down.
Below us stretched an endless horizon, where I couldn’t distinguish land from sea.
But judging by the way the light reflected… it was most likely the ocean.
“Caden, what do we do now?” I asked, worry creeping into my voice.
He held me closer, his expression calm, his gaze gentle. “Don’t be afraid. We’ll find a way.”
I nodded lightly.
For once, I wanted to just be a woman who could rely on someone else.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone to check for a signal.
I glanced at the screen. “Everything okay?”
He shook his head, his expression hardening. “No signal.”
