Stella dragged me to the door of Caden’s office, but then suddenly stopped and didn’t enter. She stood there, fixing her hair and adjusting her clothes, before carefully touching up her makeup. Only then did she reach out and knock on the door.
I glanced at the perfectly made–up Stella, then at myself, and couldn’t help but laugh.
To save the dog, my once neat and professional skirt suit was now wrinkled, with a large stain of mud on the front.
Watching Stella’s face, I noticed a subtle blush and an expression of admiration that appeared when she looked at Caden. Suddenly, I understood why she had been so hostile toward me all this time.
Stella liked Caden.
As Caden’s “fiancée, I was naturally a thorn in her side. No wonder she was so intent on making my life difficult.
“Come in,” came Caden’s rich, magnetic voice.
Stella immediately flashed what she thought was her most charming smile and pushed the door open. But after only two steps into the room, her smile faltered.
Standing beside Caden was a woman with an elegant, striking presence.
Her wavy hair, red mini skirt, and exquisite makeup were nothing but fashionable and alluring.
What a small world. This was the same woman who had shouted at me when I was dealing with the stray -dog!
“Mr. Holbrook, this is the product line we’re launching next season…
The woman leaned in close to Caden and her seductive eyes were gleaming.
I understood immediately. This woman worked for Eclipse Group too, no wonder she looked familiar. And judging by her appearance and behavior, she was yet another one of Caden’s admirers.
This man, how many unwanted encounters did he have, anyway?
Caden, dressed in a tailored black Armani suit, looked perfect. His sculpted body was on full display, and the suit only enhanced his sharp features. His straight nose, chiseled jaw, sensual lips, and noble aura made him appear like the perfect creation of a god.
Honestly, Caden was a handsome wealthy heir with the kind of charm that made countless women fall at his feel
But that didn’t include me.
I couldn’t stand men like him. They were arrogant and thought the world revolved around them.
Anyway, the engagement would be over in three months. How many encounters he had didn’t concern me at all.
“Sabrina, I need to speak to Mr. Holbrook,” Stella said, glancing at the woman in red, then focusing her gaze

I dug through my memory and remembered who she was. She was the head of the design department at Eclipse Pack’s Jewelry Group. Apparently, the Whites had some connections with the Holbrooks, which was why Sabrina had risen so quickly to such a high position at such a young age.
“I’m also reporting to Mr. Holbrook. Ms. Dixon, don’t you know the concept of ‘first come, first served?” Sabrina spoke up, clearly annoyed.
Caden leaned back in his chair, his cold eyes briefly scanning my face before frowning-
I shrugged indifferently. Caden shook his head and handed Sabrina a design draft. “Go make some
revisions.
“Got it. Mr. Holbrook. Sabrina nodded, taking the draft and stepping aside, but she didn’t leave the room.
Caden’s expression darkened as he turned his attention back to Stella. “What is it?”
“Mr. Holbrook, Rosaline was absent without leave today. I cannot allow someone who disregards the rules of our pack to continue working in Eclipse Group.” Stella wasted no time in making me out to be the villain.
I listened quietly. This woman really was relentless in her attempts to make my life difficult. Did she think too highly of herself? Even if I didn’t have an engagement with Caden, there was no w
she could take my place.
She was a clueless, naive, and overly ambitious woman.
“She got my permission, Caden said while casually twirling a pen between his fingers.
Stella froze. She didn’t know how to respond.
I looked at her coldly. She probably hadn’t expected Caden to speak up for me.
“Enough. Leave now, both of you,” Caden said, loosening his tie as his voice became tinged with impatience.
Stella and Sabrina turned to leave, but I couldn’t resist a smirk as I grabbed Stella by the arm. “Wait a
second.”
Stella was annoyed. “What is it?”
I turned to Caden. “You said you’d give me an explanation about last night.”
“What about last night?” Stella’s eyes flickered, clearly caught off guard by my sudden question.
Caden looked at Stella sternly. “Why did you send Rosaline to the warehouse with wolfsbane? Don’t you know that the warehouse is off–limits to everyone without my direct orders?”
Stella’s face changed, and she immediately tried to deny it. “I don’t know what you mean, Mr. Holbrook. I never told Rosaline to go to that warehouse. You can’t just blame me based on her words.”
I had expected her to deny it. I pulled out my phone and pressed play. The recording of her domineering tone for me to go to the warehouse last night filled the room.
“You!” Stella’s face twisted in shock. She hadn’t expected me to have recorded her. She bit her lip, trying to come up with an explanation. “Mr. Holbrook, that’s not what happened. Don’t believe Rosaline. She must’ve gotten lost.”

Caden’s brow furrowed. “Lost? But didn’t you give her the passcode for the warehouse?”

Stella rushed to explain, “Mr. Holbrook, that’s because the codes for the warehouses were recently updated. The codes were unified, so the warehouses all had the same code. I admit, I didn’t run through the details. with Rosaline, but you have to believe me, Mr. Holbrook!”
Stella’s firm stance made Caden fall silent for a moment. I suddenly realized just how devious this woman was. It was clear she had already prepared her excuse before trying to set me up last night.
Looks like I would need to be more careful around her from now on.
After a brief pause, Caden spoke in a low voice. Regardless of the reason, this has caused a problem. Stella, you’re being fined six months‘ salary.”
Stella was stunned. Caden’s piercing gaze remained on her as he continued, “And you will apologize to Rosaline.”
