Chapter 36 Repay
Rosaline’s POV:
I returned to Holbrook Manor in Ryan’s car. After he lef, I went upstairs to my room, quickly washed up, and lay downL
The scene from the bar’s bathroom kept replaying in my mind.
Caden’s overbearing kiss wouldn’t leave my mind.
His warm hand had touched my breast.
I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, and by midnight, still hadn’t gotten a wink of rest.
“Caden is a jerk!” 1 sat up abruptly, turned on the light, and cursed him hundreds of times in my head.
This was the first time in my life I had ever experienced insomnia.
I ran my dry lips together, sat up, and intended to pour myself some water, only to realize there was none
in my room.
I had no choice but to go downstairs to the living room to get some.
As I was halfway down, I suddenly heard footsteps.
I immediately became alert.
I was worried that someone had broken in.
I tiptoed and hid behind the door. If it was a thief, they’d picked the wrong house.
The door opened, and a tall figure stumbled in, reeking of alcohol.
It was Caden, and it seemed like he was drunk,
I turned away in disgust, but before I could leave, he reached out and grabbed my arm.
I hated drunk people, so I pushed against him with some force to break free, but to my surprise, he collapsed on the floor, all limp.
I was startled, but when I saw him lying on the ground with his blurry, drunken eyes, I realized he was fine.
For no reason at all, he’d drunk so much. He was crazy
I huffed in irritation, deciding to ignore him and let him sober up on his own.
Tessa… Just as I turned to leave, Caden grabbed my arm again. His voice was hoarse and low, carrying unreadable sadness. “Tessa, don’t go.”
Tessa?
What was he talking about?

This was strange. I wondered if this was the girl Caden ked and if he was confusing me for her.
“Caden, let go of me, or I’ll knock you out!” I tried to slake off his grip.
Caden’s POV:
I was drunk tonight, and everything felt blurry.
I didn’t know how I made it home or why I ended up sprawled on the floor.

But the fall did manage to wake me up a little. When I opened my eyes, I saw a slender girl standing in front of me.
Her scent was incredibly familiar and comforting.
1 froze as if instantly transported back to when I was li
I had been kidnapped by members of another pack and was locked in a dark room with a girl. Aside from the guards outside, they had even placed a bear inside to keep us company.
I had once been bitten by a bear while hunting with my relatives when I was young, so I held a certain reverence for such creatures.
“Don’t be afraid. The more scared you are, the more it will bully you. It’s just like us–it’s also trapped here.
In the darkness, the girl held me, protecting me.
Her large, bright eyes blinked, shining like stars, lighting up a small corner of my heart.
We leaned against each other, huddling close.
The girl even joked. “I guess I just saved your life, huh? Otherwise, you’d have probably been scared to death by that bear. When you grow up, you’ll have to repay me, you know!”
I nodded seriously in agreement. “Okay.”
Gradually, the image of the girl from my memories began to merge with the figure in front of me..
I excitedly took her hand and gently pressed it to my face. “Tessa, do you remember? We were locked in that dark room… You protected me, helped me dress my wounds…
Rosaline’s POV:
A dark room? A bear? Dressing wounds?
I listened to those unfamiliar words, suddenly feeling a headache as if something in my memory had flashed by, but I couldn’t catch it.
“Tessa, did you know I’ve been looking for you all this time? It’s so good to finally see you again,” Caden murmured, his lips brushing against my hand.
I tried to pull away, but Caden seemed lost in his world. “Tessa, you smell so good.”
Caden you’re drunk Let po! I was speechless. This man became uncontrollable when he was drunk

“No, I won’t let go!” Caden’s grip was firm as he clung desperately to my hand. “Tessa, don’t leave me.”
“Fine, I won’t leave you. Let me help you back to your room,” I said with a sigh, realizing I had no choice. I couldn’t spend the whole night wrestling with Caden in the living room.
I pulled him up with all my strength. “Caden, get up, step lying on the floor!”
Caden’s dazed eyes fluttered, and he half–heartedly responded, “Okay, Tessa. If you want me to get up, I’ll get up.”
I couldn’t even reply to that.
He was so bizarre, constantly calling me Tessa.
Caden, standing nearly six feet three, was tall and well–built, the fit type..
Meanwhile, since I had to hide my energy, I couldn’t tap into my Alpha strength, so helping Caden walk was quite a challenge.
His arm draped over my shoulder, and his body leaned into mine. His face was close to my head, and his warm breath spilled over my face.
This kind of close contact was a bit uncomfortable for me.
Suddenly, the image of Caden kissing me in the bathroom flashed across my mind. I tried to inch away, but Caden followed, staying as close as before.
Was he ever going to let go?
Never mind, I decided not to argue with a drunk person.
I stiffened as I helped him move toward the stairs.
Finally, after a struggle, we reached the second floor. Just as I was about to relax, I suddenly heard a woman’s shrill scream. “What are you two doing?!”
I looked up, and it was Queenie.
I couldn’t be bothered to explain. I simply guided Caden past Queenie and toward his room.
“Rosaline, stop right there!” Queenie hurried over.
