Chapter 51 Argue with Me
Caden’s POV
Finished
The real reason I didn’t want to go back wasn’t just to avoid my mother finding out, but because I wanted more time with Rosaline.
Whenever I returned home, she would lock herself in her room and stay hidden away.
Grandpa had a point–I really needed to find ways to spend more time with her, just the two of us.
I wanted to understand her on a deeper level.
I narrowed my eyes and leaned back, but no matter how hard I tried, my attention kept drifting toward her.
Rosaline’s hands were firmly clutching the steering wheel as she drove, completely absorbed in the road, unaware that I had been watching her the entire time.
The streets were peaceful under the night sky.
The neon lights outside, shifting hues, flickered through the car window, casting an almost magical glow on her.
I glanced at her profile and spoke quietly, “Rosaline, Stella’s been let go from the company. What’s your opinion on that?”
“Hmm?” Rosaline seemed a bit confused, pausing for a moment before responding, “She had it coming. Plus, she hurt you tonight.”
I turned to her, my tone more serious, “What I meant was, I’m thinking of promoting you to head the secretariat department.”
Although Rosaline had only been with the company for half a month, her skills were more than sufficient
for the role.
I wanted to offer her more chances to grow.
To my surprise, she declined without a second thought, “No, thank you.”
I was caught off guard, “Why not?”
The position of head of the secretariat at Eclipse Group was one that many would eagerly fight for.
Yet, Rosaline had turned it down so casually.

She answered calmly, I’m thinking of what’s best for you. Think about it–there are still over two mo until we call off our engagement. After that, I’ll be gone, and you’ll have to find a new leader. It’s better make a smart choice now and pick someone you’re both satisfied with and capable of handling the role.”
“Where are you going?” I asked, confused.
“Anywhere works for me. I won’t be staying in the Eclipse Pack,” Rosaline replied nonchalantly.
A wave of disappointment washed over me.

Chapter 51 Argue with Me
Rosaline’s POV
After about 30 minutes, we reached New Moon City.
finished
It’s an upscale neighborhood situated right in the heart of Anshire, owned by the Eclipse Group, and just short distance from my workplace.
I’d heard colleagues mention it before. Caden often comes here to unwind, but this was my first visit.
I parked the car and said. “We’ve arrived”
Caden didn’t reply.
I glanced over and saw the quasi–Alpha slouched in his seat, eyes shut tightly, breathing steady, looking as though he was asleep.
I tapped his shoulder, saying, “Caden, we’ve arrived, wake up!”
Suddenly, Caden sprang awake, grabbing my hand tightly, “Tessa! Tessa, don’t leave me!
“What’s going on, Caden?” I was taken aback by his intense reaction.
What on earth was happening with him now?
From what he said, it sounds like a girl named Tessa has left him. But why?
Does she not like Caden? Did she turn him down?
That doesn’t seem likely.
With Caden’s looks and status, it was hard to imagine any girl not being drawn to him.
Given Caden’s current state, it’s clear he has deep feelings for Tessa. With someone as exceptional as him, how could anyone resist his charm?
But why would she leave if he loved her so much?
Could it be that… Tessa is no longer around?
The best things always seem just out of reach, and that’s likely why Caden can’t seem to move on from her.
The more I thought about it, the more likely it seemed, but seeing the look on Caden’s face–pale and sweaty–I hesitated to ask any further.
Caden wiped the sweat from his forehead and reassured me, “It’s alright, just a nightmare.”
Caden’s POV:
It truly was a nightmare.
In the dream, I found myself back in that suffocating, dark room.
I was surrounded, threatened, and beaten by several werewolves, the fear and exhaustion weighing me down. I felt like I couldn’t hold on any longer.
Then Tessa’s hand grinned mine desperately her voice urgent as she said “Caden wake u

Half–conscious, I heard her voice once more, “Caden, wake up!”

The dream twisted, and suddenly, I was holding Tessa’s hand, both of us running desperately through the
Forest.
“Faster, rum faster!” she urged.
Ahead, a cliff loomed, and behind us, the wolves were closing in.
“Holbrook, I can’t run anymore…
I could only watch in horror as Tessa slipped, falling into the abyss
This nightmare had haunted me countless times, yet every time I woke up, the fear still gripped me.
“We’ve arrived, time to get out, Rosaline said, opening the door.
As I looked at her face, my thoughts began to settle. I then pointed to the leg she had kicked earlier and grinned. “Help me up.”
Rosaline gave me an exasperated look.
“You’re the one who kicked me,” I said, raising an eyebrow and acting like I deserved the help.
“Fine” she sighed, reluctantly offering her support to help me out of the car.
After locking the car, I let Rosaline assist me as we made our way to the elevator.
We were pressed so close together, and I deliberately leaned in a little more, noticing how Rosaline’s breathing grew heavier as time went on.
I couldn’t quite explain why, but something about seeing her like this felt satisfying.
When we finally reached the door, it was firmly shut.
Rosaline glanced at me and asked, “Where’s the key?”
I casually pointed to my pocket. “You get it.”
“Can’t you get it?” Rosaline shot me a look, her face flushed from the strain of supporting me. She couldn’t free her hands to retrieve the key.
I wasn’t bothered by it.
Wasn’t she supposed to be tough?
I shrugged my injured right hand and said, “I got hurt while trying to save you.”
Rosaline stared at me, shaking her head in exasperation.
“Alright, alright, I’ll get it!”
