Chapter 58 Be Kind
Rosaline’s POV:
Though my expression remained neutral, my mind spun win confusion.
Wasn’t Jasper :
supposed to be filming in Goldenwood?
Why was he back now?
The way Caden greeted him suggested they were good friends.
By the goddess, would Jasper say something to Caden?
It wasn’t that we had history, but Jasper always acted like he was chasing after me.
This was getting awkward.
The disguise I’d worked so hard on–it was slipping.
“We’ll head in now,” Caden said, nodding at Jasper before guiding me toward the private room.
I glanced back at Jasper, who still hadn’t followed us. Hesitant, I turned to Caden. “You know Jasper?”
Caden’s voice was flat. “Yeah, we were classmates.”
“Are you close?” I pressed, curiosity getting the better of me.
Caden’s gaze narrowed slightly. “Why? You seem interested in him.”

“Of course not.” I quickly shook my head. “It’s just that a friend of mine is a fan of his. I didn’t realize you two knew each other. Guess I could ask you for an autograph now.”
“Is that so?” Caden’s lips curved up into a small, unreadable smile.
“Yeah,” I said, feeling a little guilty.
Sigh. It’s not like anything’s going on with Ryan, but Caden is so touchy about it. He’s mentioned my ‘status‘ more than
What would he think if he knew that Jasper had once turned down the Moon Goddess‘ blessing and chased after me for two years straight?
“What will you have?” Caden asked, handing me the menu.
“I don’t really care. You choose,” I replied, distracted. I pushed the menu back to him.
Caden took it, scanning the list without missing a beat. He listed off a long series of dishes that left me speechless.
Wait a second, didn’t Caden usually go for lighter food?
I hesitated before speaking again. “Your hand’s still hurt. You should stick to something lighter.”
“I’m not eating. I ordered everything for you,” Caden said, raising an eyebrow with a half–smile. “Don’t want

That’s when I realized–he’d ordered all my favorite dishes.
The food was good, but I couldn’t truly enjoy it. My thoughts kept circling back to Jasper’s sudden appearance.
Could something be wrong with Starplay Entertainment?
It seemed unlikely.
If there were an issue, the gossip would have spread like wildfire by now.
I tried to eat, but worry gnawed at me. I couldn’t shake the fear that Jasper might reveal everything.

But nothing happened. I let out a silent breath of relief, only to run into him as I headed to the restroom.
He stood against the wall, sunglasses on, cigar in hand.
Smoke curled around him, and his striking face carried a quiet sadness.
As soon as he saw me, he quickly stubbed out the cigar.
Such thoughtfulness. He remembered I couldn’t stand the smell.
“Rosaline, why have you been avoiding me? Why haven’t you answered my calls or replied to my emails?” His voice held an undertone of sadness, his eyes locked on mine.
“I’m not avoiding you,” I said, offering a calm smile. “I’ve just been really busy. I haven’t had time to go. through my emails.”
I didn’t need to look at them to know what they would say.
For two years, Jasper had written me countless love letters.
But to me, Jasper was just a great coworker, a good friend–nothing more.
“Really?” His gaze darkened with suspicion.
I nodded, trying to stay calm. “I thought you were filming in Goldenwood. What brought you back so suddenly? Is it work? Or something personal?”
“If I hadn’t come back, you would have ended up someone else’s Luna,” Jasper replied, standing straighter. His tone was serious.
Two years ago, Thunderune Pack had faced a financial collapse, and their entertainment company was on the brink of failure. Jasper had taken the hit.
That was when I met him, during a business trip.
Back then, I was eager to get involved in the entertainment industry. I persuaded my grandfather to invest in Thunderune’s company, which eventually led to the creation of Starplay Entertainment.
On the surface, Jasper was the owner of Starplay, the biggest star in its roster.
But only a few people knew the truth–I was the one pulling the strings.

That journey had led Jasper to admire me–maybe even love me.

After that, he rejected the Moon Goddess blessing without a second thought, channeling all his energy into winning my heart.
In a way, my agreement to marry Caden in Rivemon was influenced by Jasper’s persistent pursuit of me.
I didn’t want to lose him as a friend, and I couldn’t bear the thought of him being hurt.
So, I made the choice to distance myself from him.
But I never imagined that he and Caden were acquainted.
Jasper took a step forward, closing the gap between us. His sharp gaze fixed on me. “Rosaline, are you really engaged to Caden? Is he your destined mate?”
I sighed, pausing to carefully consider my words before responding. “It’s complicated. This isn’t something that can be explained in a few sentences. How about we talk at a later time, when we can have a proper conversation?”
“He’s not your destined mate?” he asked, pressing further.
I gave a slight shake of my head.
His expression softened, and he asked again. “So, are you really engaged to Caden?”
“Yes,” I replied, holding his gaze, my lips pressed together tightly.
There was no reason to hide the truth. Though my engagement to Caden was just a three–month arrangement I was indeed his fiancée for the time being.
Mostly, I didn’t want to give Jasper any false hope. If he and Caden were close, he’d probably let sake of his friend, right?
“Why? Is Caden better than me?” he asked, frustration creeping into his voice.
I go for the
“It’s not about being better,” I explained, my voice soft. “It’s about what’s right. I’ve already told you, Jasper. We’re just not right for each other.”
A look of bitterness crossed his face, and without warning, he reached out, gripping my shoulders firmly. “Rosaline, just give me a chance, please. I’ll be better for you than Caden. I’ll prove I’m the one who’s right for you!”
Jasper, let go of me!” I snapped, my anger flaring. Despite his experience in front of the camera, he acted like a child when it came to matters of the heart.
“Rosaline, please don’t be so cruel,” he said, his voice trembling with emotion.
I shoved him away, frustrated beyond measure. “Why can’t you get it?”
“Rosaline, what’s going on here?”
A cold, commanding voice suddenly interrupted, slicing through the tension.
