Chapter 59 No Destined Mate
Caden’s POV:
Finished
I had been waiting in the private room for what felt like forever, but Rosaline still hadn’t come back. Unable to sit still any longer, I stood up and walked toward the bathroom.
From a distance, I spotted Rosaline with Jasper. The way they stood close together it didn’t feel right to
me
My stomach dropped.
What were they doing? Why were they so close, acting like that in front of everyone?
I hurried over, reaching them and yanking Rosaline away from Jasper.
“Rosaline, you owe me an explanation.”
She looked at me, offering a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “It’s nothing. I was just asking Jasper for an autograph.”
“Really?” I glanced at Jasper.
I didn’t believe a word of it.
Jasper’s face was unreadable, but the way his eyes narrowed when they locked onto mine said more than he intended.
“Of course,” Rosaline replied, forcing a smile. She grabbed my arm and said, “Come on, let’s go back inside.”
She started pulling me back into the room.
“You know Jasper?” I asked, watching her carefully, trying to figure out what she was hiding.
Rosaline smiled again. “Jasper is famous. Everyone knows him. And you introduced him to me earlier as your friend.”
“Is that so?” I wasn’t buying it.
She and Jasper had been far too close right outside the bathroom. It wasn’t just about getting an autograph.
What were they really doing?
It wasn’t a secret that Jasper had a girl he was madly in love with.
I had heard she was the Alpha of a mysterious wolf pack, strikingly beautiful and rich, and the true force behind Jasper’s empire in the entertainment world.
Jasper adored her, much like I adored Tessa.
I also knew he’d been pursuing the Alpha for a long time, even going so far as to publicly reject the Moon Goddess‘ blessing, abandoning his destined mate to be with her.
A man so devoted–why would he be so close with Rosaline, an Omega?

“Yeah. I almost got the autograph. If you hadn’t shown up, he would’ve already agreed to it, Rosaline said, her smile tight. “Next time, you should ask him for an autograph for me
I could tell she was hiding something. I wasn’t stupid.
Rosaline’s POV:
Caden didn’t bring it up again. After we finished dinner, he drove me home, and I fell into a deep sleep, not waking up until noon the next day.
Despite his note asking me to rest, I couldn’t stay home. My work habits made it impossible, and honestly, I didn’t want to be cooped up with Eleanor and Queenie–they were both trouble on legs.
As soon as I walked into the office, I heard my two assistants chattering nearby.
“Jasper’s so good–looking!”
“Stop swooning. Didn’t you catch his interview? He talked about a girl he’s loved for two years. You don’t stand a chance.
Jasper?
My heart dropped.
Why would he share something so personal in an interview?
Was he turning his love life into something for the tabloids?
“Ms. Sinclair, did you see what’s happening on the Internet? Jasper just did his first interview,” Sally said, her excitement obvious. “He never talks to reporters.”
“Really?” I asked, pretending I didn’t care. “Which Jasper?”
“The award–winning actor, of course! You don’t know him? He’s the biggest star right now. Super handsome. Sally glanced at Rosaline. “Almost as handsome as Mr. Holbrook.”
So it was him….
I quickly opened the news and saw his name at the top.
It was an exclusive interview. Jasper wore a white suit, gold–rimmed glasses, and exuded an elegant, distant vibe.
The first part of the interview was about his latest movie in Goldenwood, but then the reporter asked something personal. Jasper. I’m sure many of us are curious about your love life. Could you tell us who your destined mate is?”
Jasper gave a faint smile. “I don’t need a destined mate.”
The reporter blinked, caught by surprise. “That’s surprising. But for your fans, I’m sure this is good news.”
Jasper’s voice grew low and almost hushed. “Not needing a destined mate doesn’t mean there isn’t a girl I love deeply. I’ll wait for her… forever.”
