Chapter 6 Troubled Mind
Caden’s POV:
Finished
I admit that Ryan’s behavior and words made me feel like Rosaline’s relationship with him was definitely more than it appeared. It bothered me, and I couldn’t shake it off.
I watched her nonchalant expression and added, “Just so you know, we’re still engaged, and Ryan’s a celebrity. You two better not let any rumors get out; it wouldn’t be good for the Holbrook family’s reputation. Also, it wouldn’t be easy for you to marry into the Lindsays. After all, you’re two years older than Ryan, right?”
“Enough.” Rosaline’s
expression darkened as she interrupted me.
So, she finally got what I was trying to say, huh? This woman… How slow can she be? “My romantic relationship is none of your business, so stop commenting here and there,” she snapped.
That d*mn woman. Her words made my blood boil, and I ignored her until we got out of the car.
Later that night, I had insomnia as usual.
I’ve had insomnia since I was 13 after I was kidnapped by a rival Pack and locked in a windowless room with no moonlight.
But tonight, it was different. Rosaline kept appearing in my mind.
She didn’t deny having a relationship with Ryan–did that mean she was admitting it?
I asked my wolf, Edward, “Last night, I actually slept better than usual. How did you sleep?”
Edward answered with a sigh, “I miss the feeling of holding Rosaline while I sleep.”
I didn’t have trouble sleeping when I held her.
“Is she my fated mate?” I asked. “But I hate her.”
Edward mumbled, “Once you become Alpha of the pack and my power grows in three months, we can know for sure.”
His words only made me feel more troubled.
How could Rosaline have feelings for that kid, Ryan? Was she blind?
Since I couldn’t sleep, I got up and lit a cigarette. Then, I stared at the moon, keeping my eyes open until morning.
Rosaline’s POV:
The next few days were uneventful.
The repetitive cycle of work, sleep, and eating made me miss the old days. Whether it was traveling the world or lounging at the Shadow Pack Manor, both felt freer than being stuck here.
Soon, it was the Eclipse Group’s anniversary celebration. In the evening, I was dragged by the Holbrooks to get my hair and makeup done, and I had to change into a formal gown to attend the event with Caden.

Chapter 6 Troubled Mind
The party was extravagant, with many famous figures from Rivemon’s business circles in attendance.
Finished
Caden, as the CEO of Eclipse Group, was constantly busy greeting guests, leaving me standing by his side. Feeling bored out of my mind, I made an excuse to head to the bathroom and escape for a while,
Just as I finished touching up my makeup and was about to leave, a woman called out to me.
“Are you Rosaline Sinclair?”
I turned around to face her. She looked about my age, dressed in a Dior haute couture gown. Judging by her appearance, she must be from some prominent Pack.
“Can I help you?” I asked.
“I’m Wendy Crawford,” she said as she stepped forward.
I had heard the name Wendy in all the gossip circulating since I arrived at Eclipse Pack,
The princess of the Crawfords was Caden’s childhood friend and the only woman who had been by his side for years.
Everyone assumed they were a perfect match and that they would eventually marry.
Rumors have even suggested that Wendy will be the future Luna of Eclipse Pack.
But now, I had shown up and messed up their plans.
“What’s this about?” I asked, keeping my voice steady.
Wendy took a card from her bag and, without flinching, said, “Here’s ten million. I want you to announce that you’re breaking off your engagement with Caden tonight.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at her audacity.
Since coming to Rivemon, it seemed like people thought throwing money at me would get them what they wanted.
But compared to Eleanor’s 5,000. Wendy’s ten million was certainly more generous.
Wendy looked at me with a frown. “This ten
million will ensure you live comfortably for the rest of your life. You need to know that Caden will never choose you as his Luna. He’s only sticking with you now because of Mr. Richard’s poor health. Once he gets better, Caden will get rid of you. You won’t get a single benefit from this.”
“Hal” 1 scoffed, “Ten million to last me for the rest of my life? Ms. Crawford, that’s not even enough for my monthly allowance.”
Without waiting for her stunned reaction, I turned and walked away, my heels clicking sharply on the floor.
Behind me, I could hear Wendy shout, “You’re out of your mind, Rosaline? How could you, a bumpkin Omega, have ten million of a monthly allowance?”
