Chapter 70 The Accident During Filming
“Huh?” I looked at Caden in astonishment.
What on earth is he up to now?
Caden gave I’ll do it
e a cold glance. “Didn’t you say you needed a demonstration?
Jasper looked at me as if he wanted to say something, but he held back.
I couldn’t help but feel exasperated too. Jasper was a renowned actor, after all.
Did this little advertisement require the mighty CEO to personally step in?

It didn’t take a genius to figure out that Caden was probably feeling a pang of jealousy. Seeing me and Jasper collaborating must have rubbed him the wrong way.
He’d always been dismissive of any interaction between Jasper and me.
Caden was always so domineering but nobody on set dared to challenge him.
Jasper could only step aside and silently watch us.
Soon, filming resumed.
The moment Caden stepped onto the set, he commanded attention like a spotlight had turned on just for him. His presence was magnetic, no less dazzling than Jasper’s.
“Absolutely perfect! The photographer’s eyes sparkled with awe as he showered Caden with praise.
I glanced at the footage. Admittedly, Caden standing beside me did create an even more striking visual. The chemistry on screen was undeniable.
“Alright, Caden, let’s leave this to the stars of the shoot,” I whispered, giving his shoulder a light pat in an attempt to coax him down..
Sure, he seemed satisfied, but Annie was glaring at us, visibly upset, while Jasper’s expression had darkened considerably.
“Fine.” Caden’s lips curled into a faint smile as he took my hand, ready to lead me off the set. Suddenly, the lights above began to sway violently.
I looked up only to see the massive chandelier on the ceiling shake loose and plummet straight toward me.
“Watch out!” Three voices cried out in unison–Caden, Jasper, and Bruce.
Caden, being the closest, reacted instantly. His strong arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me to the ground and shielding me with his body.
The world spun as we fell, and the next thing I knew, there was a deafening crash.
The chandelier hit the floor, shattering into countless shards.
A shard of glass flew up and sliced into my leg, instantly drawing blood that stained my white dress crimson.

“I’ll take you to the hospital”
I instinctively tried to wriggle free. Put me down, I protested.
After all, I was an Alpha. A wound like this would heal quickly and wouldn’t hinder the shoot.
“Don’t move!” Caden’s voice carried an authority that left no room for argument. “You’re hurt.”

It was only then that I remembered my current disguise as a low–ranking Omega. If anyone noticed how quickly I healed, my true identity would be exposed.
1 had no choice but to allow him to carry me out of the studio.
As I nestled in his embrace, I couldn’t help but notice the warmth of his chest and the way it made my cheeks flush.
His strong arms held me tightly, and the proximity was so close that I could hear his steady, powerful heartbeat.
As we passed through the studio entrance, I caught Wendy glaring daggers at me.
So, she was still here.
Feeling mischievous, I snuggled closer to Caden’s chest and looped my arms around his neck.
“Caden, where are you going?” Wendy stepped forward, reaching out as if to stop him. However, Caden’s icy gaze froze her in her tracks. She let go of him as she stumbled back and retreated without another word.
Caden carried me to the car and gently placed me inside.
I was worried that the doctor might notice how quickly my wound would heal. I tried one last time to protest. “It’s just a scratch. I can handle it myself.”
Caden was unmoved. “We’re going to the hospital. End of discussion.”
Fine, I gave up. Arguing with him was a losing battle anyway. I’d just have to suppress my Alpha aura and slow down my healing.
What a mess. If Grandpa found out, he’d tease me endlessly.
At the hospital, the doctor examined my leg and reassured us. “Luckily, it’s just a light cut. Apply some ointment, and you’ll be fine in a few days.”
“Thank you,” I said, smiling politely.
Only then did the tension on Caden’s face ease slightly.
“You’re not going back to the office today. I’ll take you home to rest,” he said softly as he carried me back to the car.
I nodded, but as I gazed at him, the events from earlier replayed in my mind. “Caden, do you think what happened today was an accident?”
I knew Eclipse Group’s equipment underwent regular inspections. The chandelier, like everything else, would’ve been checked by professionals.

At first, I suspected Wendy had tampered with something to harm me. But then I realized that I had only.

to demonstrate because Annie had performed poorly.
There was no way Wendy could have foreseen that.
Originally, Annie and Jasper were supposed to be in that position.
I wondered if someone deliberately targeted Annie.
Annie was new from Fostrau, it seemed unlikely that anyone would want to hurt her.
As for Jasper, what enemies could he possibly have? Even if someone did have a grudge against him, why would they attack at Eclipse Group’s filming site?
After all, this was Eclipse Pack territory. The consequences of crossing a Caden would be severe.
I was utterly perplexed.
However, I was very sure that this was definitely no accident.
Caden’s gaze darkened as he looked at my wounded leg. “I’ll have someone investigate this, he said seriously.
