Chapter 80 Unexpected Incident at Lover’s Lake
Caden’s POV:
My head throbbed painfully,
Something soft beneath me hinted I was lying on a bed.
How did I get back here?
“I’ll never leave you. Never.”
Whose voice was that?
The next moment, I felt warm, delicate hands begin caressing my chest.
In my haze, I sensed a woman in my arms, kissing me and whispering words of love. Yet, it all felt so foreign and wrong.
I remembered talking to Tessa in my dream but this didn’t feel like a dream now.
The person who was kissing me was moving their hands downward. Then, I could feel her fondling my
member.
A warm, wet sensation followed as I felt her mouth take me in.
The heat and slickness startled me.
Who was this?
Rosaline? No, she’d never be this bold.
Tessa? No, it wasn’t her!
Tessa carried a faint, unique fragrance, but this woman’s overpowering perfume was cheap and vulgar.
It was definitely not Tessa’s scent.
Suddenly, I shoved her away and shouted, “You’re not Tessa!”
The woman let out a muffled yelp. I tried to sit up, but the pounding in my head sent me reeling back onto the bed.
Dizzy and overwhelmed, I collapsed and my consciousness slipped away under the heavy haze of alcohol.
Somewhere in the fog of my mind, I heard my phone buzzing.
I somehow felt the woman picking it up before everything went black.
Rosaline’s POV:
Suppressing the unease bubbling within me, I kept my voice calm. “I’m looking for Caden.”

It really was Wendy!
So, Caden hadn’t come home so late because he was with her?
And now he was taking a shower in her room?
Finished
“Did you need something from Caden? I doubt he’ll have time for you. Caden said he wanted to spend a romantic and unforgettable night with me. He told me I’m the only woman he truly loves-”
I hung up before she could finish.
Why was Caden with Wendy?
He was usually so cold to her.
Then again, he often acted distant toward me in public, only to turn around and behave intimately, even forcing kisses
on me.
Could it be that he doesn’t reject Wendy’s advances when no one’s watching?
I lay back on the bed feeling a wave of irritation washed over me. I closed my eyes, but Caden’s handsome face kept surfacing in my mind, refusing to leave.
I told myself I didn’t care about him, but why did the thought of him and Wendy together make my chest ache so much?
Oh, great Moon Goddess, what’s happening to me?
That night, I couldn’t sleep.
The next morning, I went to the Eclipse Group early.
Caden was still absent.
Even Caden’s beta, Yale, seemed puzzled. He mentioned that Caden had specifically said he’d personally come to Lover’s Lake today to oversee the outdoor shoot for the Ice and Fire advertisement.
But now, everyone else had arrived, and there was still no sign of Caden. His phone was even turned off.
This was highly unusual.
“We can’t wait for him anymore. Let’s go,” I said firmly, unwilling to delay progress. Deep down, I was also annoyed at Caden for breaking his promise.
What was he doing? Still in Wendy’s arms?
How dare he indulge himself while leaving all of us waiting?
“But Mr. Holbrook insisted he’d join us today,” Yale hesitated, clearly conflicted.
“If he wants to come, he will. Are we supposed to waste the entire morning waiting for him?” I snapped.
I valued punctuality and couldn’t stand the idea of wasting so many people’s time. Besides, who knew when Caden would decide to show up?

“Rosaline’s right,” Jasper said in a deep voice. “I’ve got an interview this afternoon.
Finished
Hearing Jasper speak up, Yale hesitated but eventually relented since he was unable to contact Caden. Then, he reluctantly followed us to Lover’s Lake.
Lover’s Lake was nestled in the valleys outside Rivemon. It was surrounded by lush green hills and vibrant flowers. Its picturesque scenery made it a popular spot for couples‘ wedding photos, hence its name.
1 chose a secluded grove by the lake. “This spot looks good. Let’s begin here.”
Jasper and Naomi quickly changed into their costumes and got their makeup done. Soon, they were striking poses while the photographer worked tirelessly.
After a full day of shooting yesterday, the two had grown more in sync.
“Yes, just like that. Perfect,” the photographer praised as the camera flashed repeatedly.
After watching for a while, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the setting still wasn’t ideal.
“You all continue with the shoot. I’m going to check if there’s a better spot nearby.”
I wandered off to scout for a new location. Since I was in charge of this project, I wanted to ensure everything was done to perfection.
Jasper paused immediately and offered, “I’ll go with you.”
I shook my head. “It’s fine. Focus on the shoot so we don’t fall behind schedule.”
Due to the heavy rain last night, the mountain paths were muddy and uneven. I trudged forward in my high heels with each step sinking slightly into the ground.
However, my thoughts, inexplicably, drifted back to Caden.
Hadn’t he said he’d personally oversee today’s shoot? It was already past ten in the morning, and he was still nowhere to be seen.
Was he really with Wendy last night?
And if so, what exactly had they done together?
How could he act like this? Wouldn’t he feel guilty toward Tessa?
I made my way to the other side of Lover’s Lake absentmindedly.
I arrived near the edge of the forest. The scenery here was even more breathtaking with the sparkling lake framed by vibrant greenery and distant hills.
If we shot here, the results would likely be even better.
I looked down, preparing to call the photographer to come over, when I suddenly felt something was off behind me.
Turning around, I saw Stella standing at the lakeside, glaring at me with eyes full of fury.

“What are you doing here?” I asked in shock.
Stella’s gaze burned with unrestrained hatred. “Rosaline, you lowly Omega from the comtryde Mark my words, you’ll be celebrating your death anniversary by this time next year!”
