Chapter 82 You’re a Murderer

“Tyler, why are you just standing there? Grab Rosaline, the murderer! Don’t let her get away!” Queenie yelled, glaring at the giant wolf beside her.
The wolf lunged at me, blocking my path, and then, in an instant, transformed into a well–groomed man with glasses.
I didn’t recognize him, but the way he looked at Queenie and his confident attitude made it clear he was one of her admirers.
“I’m Tyler Carlson. So, you’re Rosaline? A murderer, huh? Trying to escape now?” Tyler said, holding his hand out to stop me.
I didn’t know how to respond. I frowned, glancing at the lake, then spoke quietly, “I’ve already warned you- there’s wolfsbane in the water. If you try to stop me again and don’t help Stella, she’ll drown. And if that happens, who will be the real killer?”
Tyler hesitated, his eyes flickering with doubt, and he instinctively stepped aside.
But Queenie wasn’t so easily deterred. “Tyler, don’t listen to her! Both of us saw it–Rosaline pushed Stella into the water! If anything happens to her, it’s on Rosaline, not us! Keep her from running, and I’ll call the police.”
Hearing that, Tyler’s face lit up with a smirk. “Don’t worry, Queenie. With me here, she won’t escape!”
I stood there, staring at Tyler. It was clear they didn’t care about Stella’s life–they were more interested in making sure I was blamed for her death. This would ruin my life; I would be trapped with the label of a murderer forever.
Queenie took out her phone, dialing the police. She exaggerated the whole situation, spinning a tale about a werewolf drowning, claiming she had stopped the killer, and urging the officer to hurry.
I rubbed my forehead in frustration. Losing patience, I tried to push past Tyler, but before I could, a tall figure appeared. His voice was cold and firm as he spoke, “What’s going on here?”
It was Jasper.
“Jasper, Stella fell into the water.” I pointed to the lake, trying to stay calm. “I’m going in to rescue her. You call for an ambulance.”
Using my Alpha senses, I knew the wolfsbane in the water was diluted enough to not harm me, and I could enter the water to rescue her.
Without another thought, I dove into the freezing water.
“You can’t go in there! There’s wolfsbane in the water!” Tyler shouted after me.
The wolfsbane was harmless to me as an Alpha, but I didn’t know how it would affect Jasper.
Minutes later, I found Stella drifting unconscious in the lake.
On the shore, Jasper had already called emergency services. “There’s been a drowning at Lover’s Lake. Please send an ambulance immediately.”

“Stella, can you hear me?” I gently tapped her face, but she remained unresponsive–her skin pale, her lips turning blue.
“Rosaline, Stella’s dead!” Queenie stepped forward, pointing at me with a sneer. “You pushed her into the water, and now she’s drowned! You’re a murderer!”
Her words buzzed in my ears like an annoying fly, and I felt my frustration boil over. I turned to her, snapping, “Shut up!”
The force of my command made Queenie freeze in place.
“H–how dare you!” she stammered, taken aback.
“Don’t just stand there–help or get out of the way!” I barked, kneeling beside Stella and starting chest compressions.
Her condition was critical. I didn’t know how much wolfsbane she had ingested, but with both the drowning and the poison, waiting for an ambulance would be too late.
I had to do everything I could.
“Rosaline, do you need help?” Jasper asked gently, noticing the sweat beading on my forehead from the effort.
I shook my head. “No. Just go make sure the ambulance is coming.”
Jasper stood up and dialed again, while Queenie scoffed. “Rosaline, stop pretending. Stella’s dead, and you’re just putting on a show. Don’t think playing the hero will change the fact that you’re a killer!”
I ignored her, focusing on Stella.
In the distance, the sound of sirens grew louder as a police car sped toward us.
Queenie’s cold gaze locked onto me. “Rosaline, the cops are coming. You won’t escape this time, murderer!”
Jasper hung up the phone and heard Queenie’s taunt. His expression darkened. “I warn you–don’t make false accusations against Rosaline!”
“False accusations? Ha! I saw it with my own eyes!” Queenie’s eyes narrowed, her gaze shifting to Jasper. “What’s your relationship with Rosaline? Why are you so concerned about her?”
“It’s none of your business,” Jasper replied coldly, turning his back on her. He walked over to me, gently wiping the sweat from my forehead. “Are you okay? The ambulance is almost here.”
“Yeah.” I nodded faintly, continuing the chest compressions.
But Stella showed no signs of improvement …
