Chapter 86 Openly Dining With Another Man
Rosaline’s POV:

Jasper took me to a fancy restaurant for dinner. By the time we got there, he had already made sure the entire place was closed off just for us.
He had his assistant handle it, mostly to avoid any unwanted attention from his female fans.
But more importantly, he wanted to make sure we wouldn’t be interrupted or photographed by anyone who might be lurking around.
“What would you like to have? The steaks here are excellent,” Jasper asked, handing me the menu.
I took it and flipped through it without much thought, responding casually, “I’ll have the steak, then.”
“Rosaline, are you alright? Are you still upset about what happened with Stella?” Jasper asked, his eyes full of
concern.
I gave him a faint smile, trying to brush it off. “It’s nothing. I haven’t really thought about it.”
“Then why do you look so down?” Jasper asked, pushing a little further.
I didn’t know the answer. It wasn’t like what Caden did last night had anything to do with me, but I still couldn’t shake the feeling of unease.
Not wanting Jasper to focus too much on my mood, I changed the subject. “By the way, you mentioned that the company’s development plan was ready. Let’s go over it.”
“Sure.” Jasper nodded and pulled out his tablet. As he opened up the plan, he began explaining the details to
- me.
I was seated next to him, discussing the future development of the company.
We got so caught up in the conversation about the company that in.
We didn’t even notice when Caden walked
Caden’s POV:
I stepped into the restaurant and immediately spotted Rosaline, sitting way too close to Jasper.
She was leaning in, whispering something in his ear, a soft smile on her face.
That relaxed, confident look was something I’d never seen her give me before.
D*mn it. What exactly was their relationship?
I started walking toward them, but the restaurant owner stopped me. “I’m sorry, Sir, the restaurant is reserved for the evening. We aren’t taking any more guests.”
I didn’t even spare him a glance. “Step aside,” I ordered.
The owner froze as he recognized me, his voice shaky. “Mr. Holbrook … Of course… I’m sorry…
After a brief pause, he quickly moved aside without another word.

I approached their table, but Rosaline barely acknowledged me. She glanced up, then locked her tablet and calmly started eating her steak, pretending like I wasn’t even there.
That was it. I was beyond frustrated.
I couldn’t let her ignore me like that.
I grabbed her hand, my voice cold. “Let’s go.”
Rosaline didn’t budge. Jasper, however, stood up and stepped in front of her. “Caden, don’t push it.”
“This isn’t your concern,” I snapped, shoving him aside and pulling Rosaline out of her chair.
“Caden, that’s enough! Can’t you see I’m eating?” Rosaline snapped, yanking her arm away from me.
“This place isn’t good enough. I’ll take you somewhere nicer,” I said, trying to keep my anger in check.
But Rosaline wasn’t having it. She shot back, “I think this dinner is fine. I like it here. Mr. Holbrook, unless you have something important to do, please leave. Don’t disturb my dinner with Jasper.”
She had crossed a line.
“Rosaline, don’t forget who you are!” I hissed, losing my cool. “You’re out here eating with another man right in front of me? Don’t you care about your fiancé at all?”
Rosaline let out a bitter laugh, her lips pressing into a tight line. “Mr. Holbrook, I haven’t forgotten. What we have is just a three–month contract.”
Jasper’s POV:
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
From Rosaline’s words, it sounded like her engagement with Caden wasn’t anything serious–just a temporary arrangement for three months!
That meant there was no real connection between them.
Hope surged through me. Maybe there was still a chance for us.
Feeling suddenly empowered, I stood up and tried to pull Caden away from Rosaline. “Let go of her!”
Caden’s lips twisted into a mocking smile. “Jasper, if I remember right, aren’t you after your boss? What, do you want to play both sides?”
I turned to Rosaline and spoke with a deep voice, “Open your eyes. My boss is—”
“Jasper, shut up!” Rosaline cut me off, her voice sharp. “Go back now!”
“No!” I gripped her hand, refusing to let go. “We’re leaving together.”
Rosaline quickly pulled her hand out of my grasp. “I’ll handle this on my own!
“I’m not leaving,” I insisted.
How could I leave her with Caden, this arrogant, domineering man?

Rosaline’s patience was running thin. Her voice became stern. “I said go back. Don’t you understand?”
Her sharp tone made my chest tighten.
This was the real Rosaline–when she made up her mind, nothing could change it.
I gave her one last helpless glance and sighed. “Fine. Just be careful.”
