Chapter 7
On my way home, I grabbed my phone and logged into twitter to check the local trending topics.
Sure enough, the incident had become a hot topic, trending at number one with its popularity still rising.
I imagine Jackson and his mother were probably beaming with joy. This sort of publicity. while making me the biggest loser, served to pressure me with public opinion, ultimately benefiting them.
But they don’t know that this whole thing wouldn’t have any impact on me. In fact, it’s
saved me a lot of trouble!
I found Mr. Li’s number from my contact list and called him.
Mr. Li runs an entertainment media company. I partnered with his company three years
ago – I invested; he gave me a share of the profits. Right now, Jackson is working for him.
As soon as he picked up, Mr. Li asked me if the person on the trending topic was me, and
theh asked if I needed him to remove the topic.
I didn’t agree.
Why take down something that’s been so carefully boosted? That would be boring.
I said, “Mr. Li, you’ve been wanting to invest in our company, haven’t you? I can give your
1% of the shares, but you have to promise me two things.”
Mr. Li immediately agreed.
I said: “First, find some excuse to fire Jackson from the tech department. He’s the one I recommended to you three years ago.”
“Second, help me boost that local trending topic. As much as you can. Ideally, push it to the top three on the overall trending list.”
Two hours later, Mr. Li called me again.
A Losing Game of Love
He had his HR department laid off Jackson, and he even discreetly contacted other company CEOs, asking them to not hire Jackson.
Mr. Li has been in the business world for decades. He has connections all over the globe.
In other words, with this call he made, Jackson is effectively blacklisted from the industry.
Meanwhile, the popularity of the Twitter post was rising exponentially, quickly reaching the top three on the overall trending list.
Back home, I immediately blocked Jackson on WhatsApp and then searched for “baby” and “no money” in our chat history.
I hadn’t noticed before, but Jackson usually called me “Little Sun” or “Sunny.” He only called me “baby” when he was broke.
Using just those two keywords, I found over 1,000 messages, and the total amount
transferred was over 600,000 dollars!
I saved the screenshots with a poker face.
I was truly astonished.
I’m not an idiot, am I? I’ve wasted my 5.0 vision!
Around eight o’clock that night, Jackson called me.
Before I could say anything, he started yelling: “Sunny Lee! Did you get me fired from the company this afternoon? Did you slander me to my boss?”
I scoffed and said: “Jackson, please take a look in the mirror. First, you don’t have a graduate degree or higher. Second, you have no work skills. Third, you’re always complaining and never willing to work hard. If not you, who else would they fire?”
Jackson was taken aback by my words. I continued: “I think I need to remind you that I introduced you to Mr. Li for that job. Even now, I have every right to take it back.”
Before he could argue, I hung up the phone and switched to the Twitter page to post the recorded phone call I had saved..
Chapter 2
The reason for doing this is simple: I want to fuel the fire of the current trend.
After all, the war has begun, so we have to go big!
Chapter 8
Jackson kept sending me WhatsApp messages all night, going from asking what I was trying
to do, to cursing my entire family tree.
I said it was simple, just return my car.
Ackson
ckson went silent again. I had the feeling that he was deliberately avoiding the topic, but I didn’t think too much about it. I switched over to Twitter and registered a new account.
Then I spent two hours writing a detailed account of the whole incident, from a bystander’s perspective, even including psychological analyses of the people involved. To protect my identity. I deliberately got a few details wrong.
With the help of “money power,” the post’s views and likes skyrocketed. Within an hour, it was pinned to the top of the trending topic.
When I thought it’s the time, I left a comment under the post: “Personally, I think if the man can come up with some solid proof right now, he’ll basically win this whole thing.”
Jackson is impulsive. With this whole mess happening, he’s bound to be constantly checking Twitter for the latest news, afraid of missing anything that could harm him.
The purpose of my comment was for him to see it and do as I suggest. As long as I could get him to stir the wave, the rest would be easy.
And Jackson didn’t let me disappointed. Three days after I posted the comment, I saw a screen recording of Jackson and his mother live–streaming on twitter.
and his c They only streamed for three hours, and the whole time Jackson was talking mother was crying. They successfully painted me as a malicious, backstabbing villain, and they became the poor mother and son who had been wronged and lost everything.
To be honest, if I wasn’t the one involved, I would have believed their story.
But during that live stream, Jackson revealed a fatal flaw: he had no evidence.
He was just talking, and without actual proof, his story couldn’t withstand public scrutiny
