Chapter 5
My parents looked at Edward, puzzled. It seemed Natalia and Edward didn’t know each other. That ruled out any possibility of Edward cheating, so who exactly was this “billionaire husband” Natalia spoke of?
Edward chuckled, “Oh? You’re threatening to make me disappear? Quite the bold claim.”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Natalia sneered. “Your wife stole my diamond ring, worth tens of
millions! You paupers couldn’t possibly afford to compensate me!” She even took out her
phone to show Edward a photo.
Edward glanced at the photo on Natalia’s phone and frowned.
“This ring was custom–made for Kate. How could it be with you? And now you’ve lost it?”
“And the car you’re sitting in–that’s mine. This model is a global limited edition; I own the
only one in New York.”
Kate covered her mouth, laughing uncontrollably.
“Look at you, dressed up like a big shot, just as pretentious as Kate. But that suit you’re wearing–it’s probably a knockoff, isn’t it?”
Watching Natalia gloat, I couldn’t help but stifle a smile. I wondered how long she could keep up this charade.
My father, who had looked guilty earlier, couldn’t stand it any longer and scolded me.
“Kate, this is shameful! Where did you find this broke boy? Did you even make him rent a
suit to save face?”
After glancing at Edward, my father continued, “Even with that suit on, he’s miles apart from my billionaire son–in–law. But I suppose he’s a good match for you.”
Hearing my father’s words, Kate looked even more smug. Alex, standing nearby, seemed like he wanted to say something but held back.
Edward looked at them in confusion, “Billionaire son–in–law? Are you saying this woman in

the wedding dress is the wife of a billionaire?”
Thinking Edward was intimidated, Natalia arrogantly replied, “So, are you scared now?”
“I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Strip Kate of her clothes, and I’ll forget this ever
happened.”
I took in their ugly expressions, and any lingering compassion I’d had for them vanished.
They were shameless, so I had no reason to show them mercy. I wanted them to feel a taste
the humiliation I’d endured.
Edward’s gaze turned sharp as he looked toward the staff.
“She may not know me, but do you?”
One of the staff members finally spoke up timidly, “Mr… Mr. Lewis.”
Natalia smirked disdainfully. “He’s Mr. Lewis? You must be blind.”
Alex tugged on Natalia’s sleeve, whispering,
“Natalia, I think… he really is Mr. Lewis. The last time I delivered something to Dragon Group, I saw him get out of the car, and someone called him Mr. Lewis…”
Before Alex could finish, Natalia interrupted him.
“I get it. He’s just my husband’s driver, Jack.”
“No wonder he’s so good at acting. That suit must be stolen from my husband’s wardrobe. You’re two of a kind–both love to steal.”
“Kate must have been tricked into marrying him, right? I bet he drove my husband’s luxury car and fooled Kate into thinking he was a billionaire.”
Hearing this, my parents relaxed, their expressions easing up. Alex, however, looked increasingly uncomfortable and stayed silent.
My father shot me a scornful look.
“That must be it. Only Kate would be gullible enough to believe just anyone’s words.”

After they finished speaking, Edward replied coolly, “Oh, really? Then call your husband
here. Let’s see exactly whose driver I am.”
