Chapter Ten: A Hint Of Jealousy
Ella’s POV
He leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a way that left no room for doubt about what he wanted. I could feel the heat radiating off his body, the raw desire in his touch, and for a moment, I was tempted to give in, to let myself be swept away in the heat of the moment.
But even as my body responded to his, my mind was still in that other room, with Dorian and Jessica, replaying the sound of their laughter over and over again. How could I focus on anything else when their betrayal was so close, so real?
Keith seemed to sense my hesitation because he pulled back slightly, his eyes searching mine. “Ella,” he murmured, his voice softer now. “You’re here with me. Forget about them. Just be here with me.”
I stared up at him, my emotions warring inside me. Part of me wanted to take what he was offering, to lose myself in this moment and forget about everything else. But another part of me- the part that still cared, that still felt the sting of Dorian’s betrayal–couldn’t let go that easily.
“I can’t,” I whispered, the words slipping out before I could stop them.
Keith’s intense gaze softened, and for a moment, I thought he might pull back completely. But instead, he leaned closer, his breath warm against my cheek. “Why not?” he murmured, his voice low and

persuasive “Why can’t you?”
The
on hung in the air, a challenge as much as it was an invitation. Part of me wanted to retreat, to put as much distance between us as possible, but another part–one that I didn’t want to acknowledge–was tempted to stay, to give in to the desire.
“I just… I can’t,” I repeated, my voice trembling.
He brought his leg over mine, trapping me against the bed. His proximity made it impossible to think clearly. He tilted his head, inhaling deeply as his lips brushed against the sensitive skin of my neck. “You don’t smell like strawberry cream today,” he noted, his voice tinged with amusement. “But there’s still something sweet about you.”
Before I could react, he extended his tongue and licked the moon tattoo on my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. The sensation was electric, and despite my resistance, I felt warmth pooling in my core. My breath hitched, and I pushed against his chest, trying to create some distance between us.
“I don’t want to do this,” I said, my voice shaky but firm. “I’ve already cheated once. Doing it again would be greedy.”
But as I said the words, the sound of Dorian’s voice from the next room broke again. The way he spoke, the intimacy in his tone, the raw passion in her moans–it was unbearable.

“Don’t think about him. Don’t think about anything but us, right here, right now.” His voice came like velvet.

ser, his lips brushing against my car as he whispered, “Help me undress.”
I hesitated, my mind screaming at me to stop, but my body had a different reaction. The heat in his voice, the way his body pressed against mine–it was intoxicating. Slowly, almost hesitantly, I reached for the buttons of his shirt, my fingers shaky as I undid each one.
Keith’s gaze never left mine as he shrugged off his shirt, his chest bare and inviting. He caught sight of the red lace panties I was wearing and grinned, “These suit you,” he said, his voice a deep rumble. “You’re so beautiful, Ella.”
His words made it harder to think clearly. Before I could process what was happening, Keith leaned in, his lips capturing mine in a kiss. It wasn’t like before–there was something more intense, more desperate about it.
His hands roamed over my body, tracing the curve of my hips and the dip of my waist, my mind wandered. Dorian’s touch had been similar- intimate, possessive–but somehow, Keith’s was different. When I finally pulled away for air, I whispered, almost without thinking, “You and Dorian… your physiques are so similar.”
Keith’s expression shifted instantly, a flash of something primal crossing his features. “Don’t compare me to him,” he growled, his voice

I tried to apologize, but his sudden ferocity took me by surprise, pust

me back against the wall. The cool surface pressed against my eith pinned me there, his hands gripping my hips tightly. His lips found mine again, but this time, the kiss was rougher, more insistent
The sounds from the next room were a distant memory now, drowned out by the rush of blood in my ears and the rapid thud of my heartbeat. Gradually, Keith’s mouth moved down to my neck, leaving a trail of hot kisses along my collarbone. I instinctively wanted to cry out, to let him know just how much I needed this, how much I needed to feel something other than pain.
But the thought of Dorian, of him hearing me, was enough to make me bite my lip, stifling the moans that threatened to escape. I couldn’t give him the satisfaction, even indirectly. I wouldn’t let him win, not in this.
“Don’t hold back, Ella. Let me hear you.”
His words were a command, not a request, but I remained stubbornly silent. My defiance only seemed to ignite something darker in him. He split my thighs just wide enough to enter me and the world around me faded. The noise from the next room, the ache in my heart, the confusion and anger–they all melted into nothingness. There was only Keith and the way he moved inside me, each thrust pulling me deeper into the moment.
I couldn’t hear anything anymore, not the bed creaking next door, not

the murmurs of Dorian’s voice, nothing but the sound of our breaths mingling, the rhythm of our bodies as they collided again and again. Keith was all I knew in that moment, all I could focus on.
It wasn’t gentle, it wasn’t easy. It was raw, intense, a catharsis for the rage and hurt that had been building inside me for so long.
For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t thinking about Dorian. I wasn‘ t thinking about the lady he was with, or the betrayal, or the lies. All I could think about was the man holding me, the warmth of his skin against mine, and the way he made me feel alive again.
