Chapter Four: Never Again
Ella’s POV
My mind was a wind vane of emotions as I stepped into the bathroom, the memories of the night still fresh and vivid. I couldn’t believe how intense it had been with Keith.
Dorian’s call may have disrupted me at some point, but after then, Keith had taken charge and brought my game back on.
We had tried every position imaginable, and he had been relentless until the early hours of the morning.
I rubbed my hands through my neck and stopped at the bite Keith had inflicted on me. “Crazy fella,” I muttered.
I turned on the shower, letting the hot water wash over me, hoping it would help clear my thoughts. I should be happy, right? Keith was amazing in bed–way better than Dorian ever was. But no, I wasn’t exactly.
When I finished my shower, I found Keith already asleep, his face peaceful and relaxed. A pang of guilt hit me as I looked at him. He had been nothing but kind to me, but deep down, I knew I wasn’t planning on seeing him again. This was just a one–time thing–a way to get back at Dorian and maybe prove something to myself. I had to move on now.

I dressed quietly, trying not to wake Keith as I gathered my things. But when I couldn’t find my phone, panic set in. I searched everywhere and finally found it tucked under Keith’s pillow. I carefully reached for it, trying not to disturb him, grabbed it and was about to slip out of the room when I heard his voice behind me.
“Are you in a hurry to go?”
I froze, my heart skipping a beat. I turned to see Keith watching me, his eyes half–open but alert. Embarrassment washed over me, and I struggled to find the right words.
“I… I have to go,” I stammered. “You should get some rest.”
Surprisingly, he asked me to stay back and allow him prepare breakfast for me but I declined. I hurried out, shutting the door behind me. I’d already made plans to crash at Nancy’s place, so that’s where I headed, hoping to leave all the confusion behind.
In the backseat of the taxi “to Nancy’s home“, I finally checked my phone. There were five missed calls from Dorian, along with over a dozen messages. My chest tightened as I scrolled through them. He must have done all of these while I was showering, and Keith must have heard them, probably shoved the phone under his pillow to stop the noise. I had to figure out how to deal with Dorian.
Sadly, Keith was just a fling–a moment of madness that didn’t mean anything in the long run.
Without thinking too much. I deleted all of Keith’s messages with a single tap, trying to erase the lingering guilt along with them. I didn’t want to think about him right now. What I needed was sleep.

Chapter Four: Never Again
Nancy was already asleep when I arrived, and I was too exhausted to entertain her questions, so I just crashed on the couch and fell into a deep sleep, hoping to escape from the mess in my head, even if only for a few hours.
Nancy was all too eager to wake me up, poking at my shoulder with a mischievous smile. “So, how was last night?” she asked, barely able to contain her curiosity.
I groaned and pulled the blanket over my head. “I’m still tired,” I mumbled, but Nancy was relentless.
“Come on, spill! Was it as good as you hoped?”
I sighed, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. There was no escaping Nancy’s questions, especially when she was in full–on gossip mode. “It was… great,” I admitted, a small smile playing on my lips. “Keith is really talented in bed, way better, you know.”
Nancy’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “So, does this mean you’re going to see him again? Maybe dump Dorian and go for Keith instead?”
I shook my head firmly. “No way. Last night was just a one–time thing. Keith and I aren’t going to see each other again. He probably doesn’t even take this seriously, and I’m not looking for anything more with him.”
“But what if he does?” Nancy pressed. “You never know–maybe he’s thinking about you right now.”
I laughed, though the thought made me uneasy “Even if he is, it’s not going to happen Keith and Dorian are friends–or at least they know each other. I don’t want to get caught up in that meas“.
Before Nancy could say anything more, my phone buzzed. I glanced at the screen and saw it was Dorian again. I rolled my eyes and answered the call, not bothering to hide my irritation.
“Ella,” Dorian’s voice came through the line, sounding relieved. Tve been trying to reach you. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” I replied curtly. “I was at Nancy’s last night, and my phone died. What do you want?”
“,”Dorian said, his voice softening. “I just want to tell you” I’ll be back from my business trip in three days “I Miss you so much babe”.
I tried to control the gross feeling quickly building up in my head when I heard Dorian’s sweet words. I simply replied
“I miss you too babe”
I said shortly before hanging up. I didn’t have the patience to deal with Dorian right now.
Nancy, who had been watching the exchange with a raised eyebrow, gave me a knowing look. “Looks like you’ve already taken the first step to moving on,” she teased. “But seriously, what’s your plan? Are you really going to just let Dorian back into your life?”
I shrugged, feeling the weight of my decisions pressing down on me. “I

don’t know,” I admitted. “I need to figure things out. But one thing’s for sure—I’m not going to see Keith again. Last night was fun, but it’s over.”
Nancy tilted her head, considering my words. “Well, if you’re sure about that. Just don’t let Dorian pull you back in, okay? You deserve better.”
I nodded, appreciating Nancy’s concern. “I won’t. I just need some time to think.”
Nancy smiled and stood up, grabbing her bag. “Alright, I’m going to work now, and you should too. Also, as much as they are cute, cover those love bites before you go head out.”
I chuckled, slightly embarrassed. Keith was really wild last night— something I never thought he’d be.
I glanced at the time, and stretched my upper body. My phone buzzed again, snapping me out of my thoughts. It better not be Dorian.
I checked my phone and I felt my heart skip a beat when Keith’s message popped out.
