Lucy had screamed herself hoarse, but upon entering, she still pointed a finger at me, furious. “How dare you have us brought up here? How heartless can you be? Do you know Sylvia was nearly so angry that she had a miscarriage because of this?”
“Just because you’re a loose woman doesn’t mean every woman is like you! I’m telling you, Sylvia is carrying my grandson, and no amount of your slander will make me believe otherwise.”
Jeffrey nodded. “Rebecca, I truly misjudged you. I thought you were a decent person, that you’d want a dignified divorce without clinging on!”
“To be honest, there was a moment I even doubted my ability to have children and wondered about Sylvia. But seeing how far this has gone, it’s obvious you’re lying. You’re doing all this to make me and Sylvia divorce so you can remarry me!”
Sylvia’s eyes were red, clearly having had a rough few days. She choked up, “When you demanded Jeffrey leave with nothing, I suspected something was off because I know you’re not the type to care about money. Turns out you’d planned this all along.”
“If Mom and Jeffrey hadn’t trusted me enough to skip the hospital test, I might’ve considered divorcing him, and you would’ve swooped in to remarry him. That way, you’d lose nothing, but Jeffrey would lose his son!”
Seeing the three of them going on endlessly, I rolled my eyes. “First of all, I didn’t post the video. If you don’t believe me, go to the police. Second, don’t ever bother me again, or I’ll call the cops. Understood?”
