Chapter 7 Friend Request
Alice curled her red lips, a sweet feeling swelling in her heart. She nestled against Samson’s chest and gazed up at him with a captivating smile. “I knew you couldn’t bear it. You wouldn’t want to let me go.”
mson, the wealthiest man in Miami, was not only handsome and noble but also very powerful. He was everything she had ever fantasized about in a man.
But three years ago, he had a car accident and ended up in a vegetative state. Doctors said he would never wake up. She couldn’t just waste her youth on him, could she?
So she ran abroad.
Who would have thought that Margaret would end up marrying him, and then, in just three years, Samson actually came to?
She still didn’t know how Samson woke up. “Could it be that Margaret’s luck was perfect for a miraculous recovery?” she wondered.
The doctors all called it a medical miracle.
So, she came back.
She knew Samson loved her and wouldn’t turn her away.
Samson looked into Alice’s beautiful face and said, “If it weren’t for what happened back then…. would I have been so devoted to you?”
As Samson mentioned about the past, Alice was taken aback, and a flash of guilt crossed her eyes.
Alice changed the subject, “Have you ever slept with Margaret?”
Samson gazed down and asked, “If I don’t sleep with her, will you sleep with me She knew he never slept with Margaret, but she asked anyway.
He changed the subject, making it vague.
Alice liked what he was now, the charm of a mature man, and his playful quirks that could make her blush with a single remark.
Samson was reserved and abstinent. She wanted to strip off his clothes and see how much desire he had.
Alice turned and boldly wrapped her arms around his strong waist. She hooked her arms around his neck and brought her red lips close to his thin lips, whispering, “Do you want to sleep with
me?”
Robert had been following Samson for several years. He could read the room and lifted the partition in the middle.
Samson looked at Alice and remained silent.
Alice was wearing a red dress with spaghetti straps. Because of her sitting position, the hem of her dress rode up, showing both her slender legs.
Samson naturally got her hint.
But in Samson’s mind, the image of Margaret’s beautiful legs suddenly popped up, which he had just seen at the bar.

Margaret’s legs were slender and delicate, with a graceful curve.
Margaret asked him whose legs he preferred, hers or Alice’s.

Samson didn’t know why he was thinking of Margaret at that moment.
At that moment, Margaret lifted her leg, the sparkling high–heeled shoe with crystal chains hanging on her delicate ankle, swaying. She used her fair toe to rub against his leg, asking him if Alice’s legs had ever wrapped around his waist.
Samson reached out and took off the hands that Alice had hanging around his neck. “I haven’t divorced yet.”
Alice asked, “So what?”
Samson said, “I had no intention of having an affair.”
Alice was lost for words.
All the flirtatious vibe was gone, and Samson stopped it all.
Alice slid off his legs, disappointment written all over her face. She had her pride. She would never force Samson to sleep with her.
Alice asked, “Samson, when will you and Margaret get divorced?”
Samson glanced up and gazed out the window. He was glad Margaret was the one to suggest the divorce, as he had been thinking about it too.
His tone was frosty as he responded, “Soon.”
Margaret and Jordyn returned to the apartment. Margaret lay on her soft bed
After tonight’s indulgence, things were getting back to normal.
Margaret pulled out her phone and opened WhatsApp.
She had two accounts, and for the past three years, she had been using one called “Mrs. Hawthorne, Margaret“. Now, that account was officially history.
Margaret logged into another WhatsApp account.
As soon as she joined, the group chat, “loving family” sprang to life.
Liam Decker piped up. “Wow, Margaret is finally online.” Haiden Abbott also chimed in, “Welcome home, Margaret.”
Matthew Lawrence added, “Miss you so much, Margaret.”
Liam, Haiden, and Matthew warmly celebrated her return.
Liam reminisced, “Three years ago, you just started to taste love. You said goodbye to Grandpa and left us to find a guy. So, Margaret, how was it? Are guys fun?”
Margaret said, “Not fun.”
Haiden teased, “Sounds like Margaret had a rough time with love.”
Matthew joked, “So there is someone even Margaret can’t handle.”
Liam said, “Come on. Don’t tease Margaret like that. The past three years have been quite the romantic saga for her. I’m sorry, but it’s just hilarious. I just can’t help laughing.

chat.
Margaret simply changed the group’s name from loving family” to “annoying family.” Just then, Matthew brought the conversation back on track. “Margaret, it’s time for you to step for you. We’re ut. The surgery slots are all booked up. I’ve taken on a tough heart surgery heading to the Mount Sinai Medical Center tomorrow.”
Margaret agreed.
As she exited the group chat, Margaret noticed a friend request. To her surprise, it was from Samson.
Samson wanted to add her on WhatsApp.
It was kind of ironic. For the past three years, she had been sending him messages every day on WhatsApp using her normal account, but he had never responded. Now, with a different account, he was the one reaching out to be friends.

your reach!” thought Margaret.
The Hawthorne Group was a towering presence in Miami, serving as Miami’s economic backbone. It soared majestically into the night sky, its grandeur amplified by the darkness. After sending Alice home, Samson headed to his office. He settled into the black leather chair and started going over some papers.
With a confident flick of his wrist, he signed his name at the bottom of a document. The city lights twinkled through the floor–to–ceiling windows behind him, making a stunning backdrop for his powerful figure.
His phone chimed, alerting him to a WhatsApp message.
Samson grabbed his phone, opened WhatsApp, and saw a reply from his smart junior. When he read her message, he paused for a moment and then curled his lips into a sneer.
