Chapter 4
I returned to the familiar downstairs.
It seemed as if my mother’s blood was still spilled under the dim light.
A few years ago, my father passed away unexpectedly and I became the only heir to this room.
The place I once hated had now become my only harbor.
When I turned on the light, the scene of my father beating my mother was still vivid in my mind.
Keith’s voice, hugging me and saying that he would never change, was still echoing.
I shook my head in disgust and felt extremely sick.
I called the lawyer, told him the details and asked him to help me draft a divorce
agreement.

The lawyer was very fast and sent me the contract in a short while.
I looked at the contract and felt much more
at ease.
Just as I was about to take a shower and go to bed, the phone rang suddenly.
Keith’s voice was a little flustered.
“Ruby, come quickly, Archer is not feeling. well and wants his mother.”
I jumped out of the bed and rushed to the old house of the Trivett Family. Archer was sitting in Cynthia‘ s arms and Keith fed dumplings into his mouth.
They were so happy that I looked like the third party.
Archer buried her head in Cynthia’s arms and shouted, “I don‘ t want her, she’s a big liar!”
I reached out to hug Archer, but Cynthia stopped me. “Ruby, what are you doing here?”

“Archer is sick, I heard he wants his mother.”
Archer made more noise in Cynthia‘ s arms, almost knocking over the bowl of dumplings in Keith’s hand.
“I don’t want you! You‘ re a bad guy! You lied! You said you would never lie to me!”
Cynthia smiled. “Ruby, you also saw that Archer is not sick and Archer doesn’t
want his mother.”
Keith’s sister sat in the middle of the table and laughed. “Ms. Erickson, you are such a failure, your own son doesn’t want you.”
I almost forgot about this person.
At that time, Morris and others had already shown signs of loosening up and his sister had been whispering in his parents‘ ears, so whatever I did would be interpreted
maliciously.

His parents hated me even more.
The reason why Keith’s sister hated me was also very simple, just because she simply liked Cynthia and thought that I had taken her position as sister–in–law.
It was ridiculous that someone who had never seen me can had such great malice toward me.
I pulled out a chair and sat at the table, looking straight at Keith. “Keith, didn’t you call and say that Archer was sick and wanted his mother? What’s wrong? Who is lying between you and your mistress?”
Keith’s face was ugly and he threw the bowl on the table. “Ruby, take back what you just said, it’s too harsh to say.”
I turned my eyes to Cynthia. “Using my son as a tool for you to win favor? Can‘ t you give birth to one yourself? Or is Keith not good enough?”
The two people who were choked by a sentence hesitated to speak and Cynthia‘ s

eyes were covered with a layer of mist.
Looking at Keith through his hair, he looked pitiful.
Keith’s face was gloomy and his hand that was about to slap me was raised high and it fell heavily as if he remembered something and hit the table.
“Ruby, are you jealous? Have you ever taken care of your son? Whose son is this?”
I looked at Archer, who was shaking with fear and patted his head soothingly. Just as I was about to hug him, Cynthia stopped
- me.
“It’s ridiculous. Your mistress stopped me from touching my son and she also wanted to destroy our mother–son relationship. Why don‘ t you scold her, but blame me instead?”
Keith smashed the dishes in front of him and roared, “Ruby, get out.”

I spread my hands speechlessly, looked at the crazy man in front of me and turned around to leave.
Keith grabbed my wrist.
“Ruby, did I let you go?”
I thought there was something wrong with my ears and laughed. “Are you sick? You forget it after you say it? If you are sick, go get treatment, don‘ t disgust me.”
Keith’s sister said, “Ruby, you are really capable. You don’t want the child and the Trivett Family has become a hotel for you. You come and go as you please. Didn’t your dead mother teach you etiquette?”
I clenched my hands and was about to punch her.
Keith spoke before me. “Shut up, do you have the right to speak?”
Everyone was stunned, including me.
I looked at Keith and threw off his shackles.

I reached out and threw all the dishes on
the table to the ground, roaring calmly but desperately.
“Since Archer was born, you have not allowed me to see him. Seeing him once is as difficult as ascending to heaven. I have always wanted to be a good daughter–in–law and fulfill my filial piety, but you are pressing me step by step. Everyone is the murderer who drives me crazy.”
I walked toward Keith‘ s sister with the fragments and she looked at me with horror.
I suddenly scratched her well–maintained face with the fragments.
