Chapter 4
Chapter 4
I grabbed Frank Graylen’s hand and shook my head.
He just smiled, saying nothing,
I tugged at him harder, shaking my head persistently.
“Beg me.”
“Please, I’m begging you.”
k licked his lips. “That’s not how you begged me last night.”
Outside, Eason Graylen was still urging him.
“Once I’ve taken care of this, I’ll take you to meet my parents,”
“Alright.”
Though I agreed, I had no idea what exactly needed handling.
Weren’t things between Eason and me already over?
“Big Brother, wait for me in the hall.”
“Got it.”
Eason’s footsteps moved away, but the next second, my phone rang.
It was him calling.
He stopped in his tracks, staring intensely at our room, but in the end, he left.
I had forgotten that Eason had a duplicate SIM card.
Later that afternoon, I went back to my shop, only to find Eason standing outside.
He leaned against the entrance, his gaze suggesting he saw me in a new light.
“Impressive. You’ve even learned to block me.”
I brushed past him into the flower shop.
Eason followed me in.
“Unblock me on WeChat, and we’ll let this slide.”
I looked up at him. “Eason Graylen, our eight years of love ended yesterday.”
His eyes darkened, staring at me in disbelief.
“Are you serious?”
“When have I ever joked with you?”
His expression grew darker, but then something crossed his mind, and a subtle smirk appeared.
“You usually-”
My smile faded. “Who do you take me for?”
The gentle secretary Lilla? Or the innocent Rania?
I chuckled bitterly and turned to arrange the flowers.
“Without me, no one will dare to touch you.”
Linstinctively touched my neck.
Oh, really?
“Krystal, you’d better think this through.”
Eason turned and walked out. His friends, waiting outside, looked tense.
“Big Brother, Ms. Lilla has been waiting for you.”
t’s go.”
That afternoon, the shop had a lot of orders, and there weren’t enough delivery riders.
I drove to deliver the flowers to a karaoke lounge.
As I approached the door, bouquet in hand, I heard Eason’s voice.
“Krystal is thirty now. Naturally, she can’t compare to you.”
“Mr. Graylen, you talk about how great she is, but you’ve been distracted all night. If your girlfriend doesn’t forgive you soon, I doubt you’ll have the mood to celebrate my birthday properly.”
Eason’s friends teased him.
“Don’t worry, she’ll come crawling back in no time.”
“If you cared so much, why did you give her away-”
Eason tilted Lilla’s chin up.
“Who said I cared? The position of Mrs. Graylen has no shortage of contenders.”
I stepped inside with the flowers.
“Twenty bouquets, two thousand roses. Please sign here.”
All eyes turned to me.
Eason barely glanced at me before turning back to the woman in his arms.
“How about it? Do you like them?”
As he said, the position of Mrs. Graylen was always in high demand.
“I love them,” Lilla said with a bright smile.
She was young.
I remembered when Eason first mentioned her to me.
He had said, “I hired a secretary. She’s a woman, but she’s older–steady and reliable.”
When did I realize something was off?
Maybe it was the night he locked himself in the study. When I went in, he had fallen asleep, but his phone screen was still lit.
He had been on a call with Lilla for seven hours.
She was telling him bedtime stories in a soft, romantic voice.
“People say Ms. Krystal doesn’t look thirty, but I think… that’s just flattery,” Lilla said with an innocent, angelic smile.

Her expressive eyes carried a tenderness that seemed directed at everyone she looked at.
Eason, slightly drunk, leaned against her.
Lilla probably thought she could provoke me with a few words.
But she would be disappointed.
“Well, enjoy yourselves,” I said with a smile, nodding as I turned to leave.
Lilla’s expression darkened, unwilling to let it go.
“Mr. Graylen had too much to drink today. He’ll probably stay at my place tonight, so there’s no need for you to wait for him, Ms. Krystal.”
driver at the door chimed in, “Ma’am, your little boyfriend is here to pick you up.”
Chapter 5
“I know.”
I hadn’t expected the driver to say that, or for him to be so sharp when it mattered.
I didn’t look back to see Eason’s expression.
But I could feel his icy gaze burning into my back.
I strode out, only to find that the driver wasn’t lying.
pk Graylen was waiting.
“Why are you here?”
“Didn’t you say everything was settled? Let’s go.”
Frank opened the car door for me. As I got in, I saw Eason standing at the entrance, watching us.
He held a cigarette in his hand, his gaze complicated and mocking.
“Frank,” Eason called.
“Big Brother.”
Eason walked up to the car, and the window slowly rolled down.
I caught a whiff of smoke.
“This is the support you found?” Eason sneered.
“What’s it to you?”
Eason’s smile was cold and menacing. “Do you know what he said to me three days ago when he asked for you?”
The next moment-
Bing!
Eason’s fist slammed into the car door.
“If he wants to play with you, you’re just going to let him? Krystal, do you have no shame?”
He tossed the cigarette to the ground, crushing it under his foot.
“Get out.”
Eason reached in to pull me out, but Frank stopped him.
“Big Brother, Mom and Dad are waiting. If we’re late, you’ll have to explain.”
Eason glared at him.
“Are you serious about introducing her to our parents?”
“Big Brother, you two broke up long ago.”
Eason ignored Frank, turning back to me.
“Three days ago, he brought another woman to the estate. Everyone knows about it. And you trust him?”
“He said he’d marry me.”
