Chapter 4
All their happy moments didn’t require me to spy on them. Nina Alora sent every little detail to my phone, often mixed with some provocative
remarks.
“Julia, everyone has their own fate. No point in being envious, it won’t change anything,”
I couldn’t help but laugh as I looked at the screen, mentally calculating the prices of the things Lorenzo had bought for her.
At eighteen, Lorenzo had the purest of minds–when he loved someone, he went all in, without holding back.
But that was also his flaw. With such unrestrained spending, his wallet was bound to collapse soon.
Our next encounter was at the airport. I was running errands, and they were on their honeymoon.
Nina Alora swayed her hips in front of me, showing off.
“Wow, you even followed us to the airport. But no matter what you do, Lorenzo won’t look back at you.”
A nearby investor gave me a questioning look, and I smiled, explaining:
“Sorry to make you laugh, this is the mistress of my short–lived ex–husband. They’re both enjoying themselves, but I’m not in the business of playing matchmaker. As a woman, if I had other ways, I wouldn’t be bothering you for a living.”
The investor gave Nina a meaningful glance, and after hearing my words, his patience seemed to take on a touch of sympathy.
Nina Alora raised her voice,
“Julia, how dare you curse us! You’re the one who won’t be happy, just wait until I tell Lorenzo. You’re finished!”
It seemed Julia hadn’t heard that Lorenzo had practically walked away from everything.
Her reaction confirmed my words, and the investor stepped in to protect me as we left.
“This world really has changed, hasn’t it? The mistress dares to strut in front of the wife. You’re too soft. You really need to learn to protect your rights”
To be honest, I wasn’t ashamed, nor did I feel embarrassed.
They had no shame in cheating and destroying a family–why should I punish myself for their mistakes?
My tears had dried up the day he cheated.
I took good care of my body, I had money, time, no children, no husband–life couldn’t be better.
Months passed, and one day Lorenzo somehow found my home address and knocked on my door.
He looked disheveled, no longer the smug person he had been during the divorce.
“Julia, the property distribution isn’t fair. I want to redo it.”
I covered my mouth, laughing,
“Lorenzo Porter, I think you’ve lost more than your memory. The divorce certificate is nearly moldy, and now you want to redo the property division? Why don’t you wait for the grass to grow on your grave and give me a dream then?”
His face turned pale from my words, his fingers gripping the door frame tightly, afraid I would slam it shut.
“I’m in a real rush, or I wouldn’t be bothering you. Just show some kindness, okay?”
I pulled a face.
“I wouldn’t show kindness even to a stray dog on the street, let alone to you.”

Chapter 4
I was about to slam the door when Lorenzo reached out to block it. His face flushed, and he awkwardly said,

Nina quickly regained her composure and started being dismissive toward Lorenzo, swiftly setting her sights on the next target.
