Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Ithought Cadog Brown had enough sense to leave, but I didn’t expect to see him arguing with Ausra Clark downstairs when I finished work.
“You were the one who promised to divorce her and marry me.”
“And now you’re telling me not to interfere with your life?”
“Cadog, what am I to you?”
Faced with Ausra’s anger, Cadog’s expression remained cold, his brow furrowing.
this enough of a scene? If it is, then leave.”
“Don’t embarrass yourself in front of me.”
Ausra froze for a moment, her eyes wide in disbelief.
“What did you just say?”
I quickened my pace, determined not to get involved in this mess.
But just then, Cadog suddenly looked up, and our eyes met unexpectedly.
His gaze softened, carrying an apology.
“Diva, I’ve already made things clear with her.”
“I won’t have anything to do with her anymore.”
I couldn’t help but let out a silent laugh.
I wondered if Cadog truly thought that just because he cut ties with Ausra, I’d pretend like everything hadn’t happened and happily slip into a sweet world with him again.
Seeing me about to leave, Cadog hurriedly called out.
“Diva Harris!”
“I’ve lost five years of memory. Your reactions feel to me like a lover suddenly turning away from the one they once cherished.”
“I don’t understand how we ended up here.”
“But no matter how much you hate the person I’ve become, you should remember who we were five years ago…”
“When we were most in love.”
I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him.
Cadog’s eyes were red, his voice trembling slightly.
It was as if he feared I might leave him behind and never look back.
“Diva Harris, please don’t abandon me.”
He lowered his head.
Behind him, Ausra’s face turned pale, and she staggered back a few steps before quickly leaving.
I stood still, silently watching him.
“Cadog, I won’t give someone a second chance to hurt me.”
“But I’m not him, Diva. I’m your Cadog.”

Cadog interrupted my words, urgently trying to explain.
He pointed to the bandage on his forehead. “Look, I’m not that person anymore.”
“I’m back.”
“We’ll be fine, just the two of us.”
He wiped away a tear from the corner of his eye.
I remembered the last time I saw him cry. It was during our graduation from university.
We didn’t have money to pay for heating, and we were nearly frozen in our rented apartment.
og, rarely showing vulnerability, turned his back to me, his shoulders shaking uncontrollably.
When I hugged him, I realized he was sobbing.
“It’s all my fault, I don’t have the ability to make you happy.”
“I swear, I’ll always take care of you from now on.”
At that time, Cadog had nothing, but he had his sincere love for me.
Now, his figure seemed to overlap with the one from five years ago.
The suppressed ache in my chest suddenly burst forth, filling my whole being.
I lowered my eyes, avoiding his gaze.
“When your injury heals, you need to leave.”
Cadog’s eyes lit up with hope, his face
full of joy.
He instinctively reached out to embrace me, but realizing it, he only tightened his grip on his own clothes.
“Thank you, Diva Harris.”
“I won’t disappoint you.”
Cidog’s actions, gestures, and even his thought process were eerily similar to the way he was five years ago.
But who was he now? The Cadog who held me in his hands, unable to hide his love for me?
Or was he the one who had grown tired of me, filled with impatience and thinking only of another woman?
This question had been tormenting me since we met again.
I wanted to find an answer.
