Chapter 11
Chapter 11
At the Japanese restaurant, I buried my head in embarrassment, my index finger nervously spinning.
Because as soon as I saw Alex ‘s face, I couldn’t help but recall that night…..
My roommate, however, was chatting away with him:
“Handsome, our Zoe is too shy and self–conscious. I asked her to introduce you, and she just stumbled over her words, unable to get anything out,”
She tugged at my sleeve as she said this.
my surprise, the man burst out laughing:
“Shy you say? Hmmm… I didn’t see that at all,”
My face flushed and burned at the thought of that night when I had asked Hannah, so boldly, if he could sleep with me…
Just when I was about to die of embarrassment, the waiter finally brought over our food.
I let out a heavy sigh of relief, only to hear a familiar voice from behind:
“Zoe?”
I froze, then slowly turned around.
John and the stunning Olivia stood before me. “What are you doing here?”
John’s tone was dripping with disdain.
It seemed like such an expensive place should be off–limits for someone like me.
Olivia flirted, “Is this the childhood friend you said keeps pestering you?”
My chest tightened, and a wave of humiliation surged through me.
So, in his eyes, I was just an annoying little nuisance.
All the kindness I had shown him–was it just a bother to him?
At that moment, it felt like a rude awakening.
I abruptly stood up and sneered:
“Sorry, I’m not the one you’re talking about. I don’t even know him.”
Then I turned to John: “Where I am or what I do is none of your business.”
John clearly didn’t expect the usually obedient me to speak like this.
His face darkened, as if there was something stuck in his throat.
Finally, his gaze lingered on Alex.
He suddenly froze, his voice hoarse: “Were you with him that night?”
“So, what if I was?”
Alandant.
Chapter 11
It seemed like he was ready to pick a fight with Alex!
His words felt like a sharp thorn, stabbing deep into my heart.
I was so overwhelmed with emotion that my eyes quickly filled with tears.
So, all this time, John had only pitied me?
“So, what if she doesn’t have parents? That doesn’t mean no one loves her,”
“Why are you pitying her like this?”
Alex’s words were firm, every syllable hitting me like a drumbeat.
the end, Olivia pulled John away.
They had hoped to humiliate me, but it ended up backfiring.
My roommate gave us both a meaningful look, then hugged me and sighed:
“This guy, he’s pretty great.”
