Chapter 14
John and Alex had actually become rivals.
I don’t know much about the game; I just sat on the sidelines, silently cheering for Alex.
“Zoe, you’d better stay away from John,”
I heard Olivia whispering something behind me, but only this part was loud and clear.
I turned my head in confusion, “What?”
th a condescending look, she said, “I’m pregnant with John’s child, but he still can’t let go of you!”
“Why do you eat from the bowl but still watch the pot? What’s so special about you that makes you better than me?!”
She stared at me in disgust, her words like daggers.
I couldn’t help but laugh. How could John not get over me? It was he who chose Olivia in the first place. He even asked me if I regretted it.
“You’re mistaken… ah!”
I was about to explain, but before I could, Olivia lunged at me!
She scratched at my face and hair wildly, like a madwoman.
John and Alex, who had been playing on stage, immediately set down their phones and rushed over.
With a sharp slap, John struck Olivia hard across the face.
“Are you done, Olivia ?!”
Everyone around us froze, the scene suddenly falling into a stunned silence.
I was pulled into Alex’s arms, who gently asked if I was hurt. I shook my head.
Olivia collapsed to the ground, clutching her swollen face, utterly broken.
I had never seen John so angry. He shouted:
“Olivia! What the hell do you want?!”
“I’ve already deleted Zoe, so why are you still bothering her?!”
“You check my phone eight hundred times a day! What kind of relationship is that with someone so suspicious?!”
Before he could even finish venting his anger, Olivia used all her strength to throw herself into his arms.
Her heart–wrenching cries made my chest tighten.
Olivia covered her stomach with one hand, still sobbing:
“John… I love you… that’s because I love you!!!”
“Do you know how heartbroken I was when I caught you secretly staring at her photo on my birthday?!”
She pointed at me, her emotions running wild.
But had no idea about any of this.
