“I’m the one who did this, and I’ll be the one to fix it,” Natalie deured, her voice steady. “If we don’t hurry, Murray won’t just be hurt; he’ll be ruined.”
Emma pondered quietly, realizing that she should have trusted Natalie’s intentions. She knew that her grandson’s kindness was overshadowed by his wariness of manipulative women and hoped this incident would teach him to see more clearly.
Murray was speechless, his body trembling with pain as he watched Natalic. The idea of living with a disability was terrifying, but as she skillfully reset his bones, hope sparked in his eyes.
Natalie’s precision and calm under pressure left the onlookers in awe. It seemed foolish to them–she could have gained. lifelong wealth and honor by showing humility, yet she chose to confront Murray.
As Murray tested his mended hands, a pained yet hopeful smile crossed his swollen face. “This is amazing,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “I can move my hands again.”
Standing up, Natalie addressed Jennifer, who was still reeling from the turn of events. “Jennifer, you might want to ask Murray for forgiveness. He’s in this situation because of you.”
Jennifer’s eyes burned with anger and shock as her plans fell apart. She couldn’t figure out how Natalie got the video exposing her or why Emma was awake instead of being unconscious as she’d planned.
Natalie murmured to Emma, “I’m sorry about the fuss, but it was necessary. Your grandson was at risk. I’m the one who detoxified you. Look into the poison’s ingredients, and you’ll uncover who’s targeting the Spencers.” After that, she left.
Emma’s eyes softened with gratitude. “Ms. Shawn, I owe you one. Whenever you need something, just say the word.” Natalie’s courage had won her admiration.
But Natalie was focused on the future, wanting to stay uninvolved with the Spencers. She’d seen too much already, like Jennifer’s brother taking control of the Spencer family and Murray’s sad fate. Murray would only realize Jennifer’s true, cruel nature when she took his life.
Outside the venue, Easton stepped in front of Natalie to prevent her from leaving. Despite her frown, he said earnestly, “Natalie, we have to talk.”
Natalie replied with a cutting edge and finality. “There’s nothing more to discuss. Easto was a misstep. It’s over. From here on out, I’m focusing on myself. So, step aside.”
