Jennifer was taken aback. She thought, ‘Did Natalie tell Easton everything? What happened to Natalie? She used to just swallow her pain silently and deal with it on her own.‘
Jennifer replied, “No, I’m not pregnant. Natalie’s lying to slander me. Don’t believe what Natalie says. Natalie attempts to take me down because she’s envious of how well I’m doing now. She wants to ruin me.”
In Jennifer’s plan, she told Easton like this and cleared things up later. After that, she could twist the story and blame it on Natalie. Natalie wouldn’t be able to escape her schemes.
Easton’s eyes shimmered with a threatening intent. He stood by the window and watched the snow outside. Jennifer’s reaction only proved that he had been a fool.
Having been cautious all his life, Easton felt trapped by the life–saving favor Jennifer had cleverly taken advantage of. He warned, “Jennifer, that’s enough.” After that, he hung up the phone.
Easton thought, ‘Jennifer is planning her next move. But what could it be? William hasn’t been in Shagrity lately. Where did he go?‘
William’s movements had always been secretive. None of Easton’s people had discovered which mistress William was currently with.
William liked all the children from his mistresses except for Easton, the son of his legitimate wife. But Easton didn’t care.
Easton was suddenly taken aback because he realized that, in Natalie’s eyes, he was no different from William.

‘Natalie, wait a bit longer. I’ll give you a reasonable explanation when the time comes. He stood by the window for a bit, then went downstairs.
Natalie quickly tidied up the kitchen. Turning around, she saw Easton standing at the kitchen entrance. She paused for a moment. Honestly, aside from talking about him and Jennifer, they had nothing else to discuss.
Easton was cold, with a strong sense of detachment. Natalie kept her head down and walked past Easton. As they brushed by each other, Easton grabbed her wrist.

Easton took a deep breath. He missed the six months when he couldn’t stand up. Natalie would push him out for walks. Often, she’d be the one talking, and he’d listen.
Her voice was pleasant, with a touch of laughter. She seemed carefree, always smiling happily. Back then, she gradually uplifted his downcast spirits.
But during that time, Easton was blind, and his legs were paralyzed, making him feel negative. He didn’t remember many of the stories and words Natalie shared.
He only remembered one thing: Natalie was chatting happily all day long. And she could take care of him meticulously, leaving no detail unchecked.
Vernon and Anne liked Natalie a lot, and she was good at winning people over. However, their affections shifted when Jennifer returned, and Natalie’s kindness was seen as insincere.

Wendy’s company went bankrupt. Next was Declan. Easton wondered if Jennifer would take action against Declan.
Easton said in a severe tone, “Come take a walk with me.”
Natalie raised an eyebrow at Easton. His eyes were deep, hiding whatever thoughts he had. But she knew him well and could tell he was in a bad mood.
Easton was born lonely, like a child forgotten by the world, wandering alone in the dark. Seeing through his loneliness touched Natalie’s soft heart. She wanted to stay by his side, dispel his darkness, and bring warthith.
However, Easton didn’t need her. His cold eyes, mercilessly rejecting her, pierced her heart like a sharp blade because she wasn’t the one he treasured most.
Because she was not the person who could open his heart and persuade him to let someone in. Her deep affection seemed so insignificant in the face of his indifference. Her presence held no weight in his heart.
He stubbornly held onto his obsession with his first love, keeping everyone at a distance, even those who sincerely wanted to care for him, like Natalie,
Natalie looked at Easton and suddenly began to cry. Her tears blurred her eyes. She knew from the start that her love was doomed to be a tragedy, and her efforts only added to the heartache.

Natalie replied, “Yes! You are pregnant with his child. He should divorce me. I told him to take responsibility for the baby. And, why are your tricks getting so simple? Weren’t you the one who could completely captivate him before?
“Put in some effort. Make him divorce me for the baby in your belly. That’s your real ability.” While speaking, she picked up a white nightgown and walked towards the bathroom.
