Natalie thought, ‘Who would be calling me at this time?‘
“Hello!” Natalie’s voice was gentle. She was tired and sleepy, so her tone naturally softened.
“Ms. Shawn…, it’s me. Mr. Garcia’s stomach issues are acting up. What should I do?” Xavier’s worried voice came through the
line.
Natalie clearly understood Easton’s stomach problems. He had just recovered. It flared up again due to his hectic work schedule and irregular meals.
She had already blocked Easton’s number.
Natalie thought, ‘I didn’t expect this poor guy would need to contact me now. There is no need to make things hard for Xavier‘
“Xavier, go to the room I used to stay in. In the second drawer of the nightstand, you’ll find a medical kit. Take it out and open it to find all the medications Mr. Garcia usually uses,” said Natalie.
“There’s stomach medicine, pain relief for his legs, and eye drops. If he has strained his eyes too much, give him the pink eye drops. I made them to be used once a day, so just give him one each day,” added Natalie.
Xavier was thrilled and thought, ‘Ms. Shawn still cares about Mr. Garcia. “Alright, alright, Ms. Shawn, when are you coming back?” asked Xavier.
Natalie was speechless and thought, ‘What is up with Xavier? How could he not understand the situation yet? I have already divorced and isn’t going back.‘
“Xavier, I’ve already divorced Mr. Garcia and I’m not coming back. Take good care of him from now on.” Natalie hung up the phone after finishing speaking.
She wanted revenge, but unfortunately, she wasn’t a match for Easton yet.
She had to stabilize the situation for now and take care of Jennifer’s matters first.
Natalie turned off her phone immediately and would feel no sympathy even if he was in pain. Natalie thought, ‘Hmph! A jerk! Thinks of me when he’s in pain, but forgets me when he’s having a good time!’
Natalie turned off the light and went to sleep. She thought, ‘Hmph, no worries. I’m a rich little lady. Time for some beauty sleep for a wealthy lady like me!‘
In Easton’s eyes, she wasn’t even worth being a side character.
So, this jerk couldn’t possibly affect her.
Xavier had already finished the phone call at Easton’s residence. He didn’t dare make a noise because Easton could hear everything.
Xavier thought, ‘He hadn’t been eating properly these days, and his stomach really hurts.’
Easton thought, ‘Every time my stomach hurts, Natalie would give me some medicine, and I would feel better quickly after taking it.‘
He thought, ‘In the past, whenever I had a headache or fever, Natalie would get worried and wanted to rush to my office to bring me medicine. Now when Natalie heard about my stomach pain, she just asked Xavier to get me medicine.
Easton sat there like a statue.

His perfectly chiseled features were flawless yet hard to read, and the dark night couldn’t hide the disappointment in his eyes. His voice was hoarse. “You boil the water, and I’ll get the first aid kit.”
For some inexplicable reason, he didn’t want other men to go into Natalie’s room.
“Alright, Mr. Garcia. I’ll boil the water.” Xavier jogged to the kitchen and thought, “The atmosphere here was so heavy that I wanted to finish up and get some sleep myself after serving him. I can’t push it too far. It’s bad for my health!‘
Xavier had already ordered oatmeal for Murray, planning to make sure he ate something first.
Easton might be a jerk, but he was also a good boss.
Easton was very dedicated to his work and had successfully taken on several projects in the few months when Natalie was away, keeping himself so busy that he barely touched the ground.
He turned around only to find that his wife had completely left him.
Xavier always wanted to gloat a bit, but he held back when he thought about his annual salary.
Easton sat on the bed in Natalie’s room on the second floor and felt awful; his stomach hurt particularly today.
Underneath his dark brows, his eyes were shut tight, his nose was high and prominent, and his thin lips were pale–he looked quite sickly.
After resting for a while, he got up to get the first aid kit.
The white first aid kit was quite nice.
He carried it downstairs right away and his stomach churned. Ever since Natalie had started taking care of him, he hadn’t felt this kind of stomach pain.
His stomach was already acting up after Natalie had only been gone for four months.
When Easton got downstairs, Xavier placed a takeout container of oatmeal in front of him.
“Mr. Garcia, have some oatmeal before taking the medicine. You always needed to eat something before the medicines worked for your stomach pain. This oatmeal is delicious. I remember Ms. Shawn would bring some from this store because
you
liked it.”
“Afterwards, I will often make oatmeal for you with this flavor in mind,” said Xavier.
Easton’s stomach hurt badly, and as Xavier rambled on, thoughts of Natalie’s kindness became even more pronounced.
His face grew paler, like beautiful porcelain–coldly handsome with sharp features. His blue eyes showed his pain. He lowered his head, took the spoon, and sipped the oatmeal slowly. He thought, ‘Natalie’s cooking was much better.” The warm oatmeal went down his throat, but the pain churning in his stomach remained.
Xavier noticed he didn’t want to eat anymore, but knew how to persuade him, “Mr. Garcia, Ms. Shawn said it all or the medicine won’t be effective.”
Easton glanced at him calmly with his sharp blue eyes.
Xavier gave a small smile, encouraging him to eat a bit more.

After eating, Easton opened the medicine box and noticed a note stuck on the lid, which read “I hope my husband won’t need to take these pills anymore. Stay healthy!”
Easton paused slightly when he saw the note.
Natalie had always had him in her heart and mind… His breath caught for a moment.
Xavier saw it too.
He didn’t say anything, knowing that even if he regretted his actions now, it was futile and Natalie wouldn’t turn back.
Easton saw the beautiful glass bottles inside, picking them up one by one, all of which were labeled.
Stomach medicine: take two pills at a time. Easton thought, ‘Her handwriting is elegant, neat, and precise!
Fever medicine: take one pill at a time.
Eye medicine: take three pills at a time, three times a day.
Seeing the records, Easton reflected on how he favored Jennifer recently and was cold towards Natalie. He thought, ‘I deserve what happens to me today!‘
Easton took two stomach medicine pills and carried the medical kit upstairs.
Xavier watched his lonely figure fade away and shook his head slightly.
Natalie blocked them all out.
The number he used to call had already been blocked by Natalie.
Xavier didn’t dare to go back and stayed in the backyard as Easton wouldn’t be able to find anyone to help if he hurt later tonight.
So, he went to the backyard to rest.
Easton returned to his room, placed the first aid kit away, and sat on the light beige sofa.
Leaning back casually, he seemed calm and composed, extremely quiet. However, his cold, distant eyes were becoming deeper, and the emotions churning inside were as unreadable as ocean waves.
Nick immediately sent some tonic to Wendy when he got home which was sent via her assistant these past few days when she was on a business trip.
Just like before, Wendy was applying a face mask.
Before Nick could say anything, she smiled. “Nick, you’re so thoughtful. Once you got back, you made me tonic. I’m quite tired from going out these days. Hurry and bring it to me. I’ll drink it once I take off this mask. I’ve felt more energetic lately thanks to it.”
Hearing this, Nick smiled gently, his voice slightly raspy. “Honey you work so hard for the company every day. It’s my responsibility to take care of you. I’m going to freshen up and don’t forget to drink it later.”
