Chapter 10
“I’m very serious, Julius. I’m not going to leave you” Whitney was really heartbroken to see how cautious Julius was towards her and was determined to make sure she gave him a sense of security over time.
“Let’s go eat?” He looked at her hopefully.
She used her actions to respond. She stood up and held his hand as they walked towards the dining table.
This was the second meal Whitney had with Julius, without her breaking anything or throwing any tantrums.
The servants in the household were beginning to understand what was going on. Either Whitney was sincere in getting along with Julius, or she was just waiting for the right time to strike him with a terrible blow.
Regardless of her true intentions, they were relieved and happy, as long as Whitney stopped smashing everything around the house. At least they didn’t have to clean the mess after her tantrums anymore. They also didn’t have to be afraid of Julius unleashing his wrath on them either.
“Whitney, can I talk to you about something?” Julius had originally decided against going ahead with this matter, but after listening to what Whitney said earlier, he suddenly thought he should discuss this with her.
“What is it?” said Whitney as she put some food on his plate.
He picked up the food that she placed on his plate distractedly and was still unsure of whether to talk about this or not. But since Whitney was looking at him so eagerly, he finally decided to say, “My parents said they want to meet you tomorrow.”
Whitney didn’t expect that.
In her previous life, she had met Juljus‘ parents before too, but it didn’t occur at this time in her life. She had only met them, after she bad slit her wrists to force Julius to divorce her.
After she regained consciousness in the hospital, the first people she saw in her ward were these two old folks, and they were the only people in the ward.
She had seen the heartbroken look in his mother’s eyes, and even though his father didn’t look the type who spoke much, he smiled when he noticed her looking at him.
When his mother confirmed that she still wanted to divorce Julius, she fell silent for a long time before saying, “If you’re really certain about it, I’ll let you two go ahead with it. I’ll talk to my son for you.”
She had been such a lovely lady.
“What’s wrong? If you’re not willing to, then..” Julius felt that he had been a little too hasty when he saw how Whitney was just staring at him in a daze. He wasn’t quite sure what was going through her mind.
He feared seeing that look of disgust that Whitney used to give him all the time, so he quickly tried to end the conversation before she could even say anything.
But she stopped him from going on by saying, “Tm diright with 1 just didn’t expect this, that’s all. Tomorrow, you said?” Julius didn’t think she would react this way. He stared at her with some surprise and breathed a sigh of relief inside.
“My mother wants to have lunch at home tomorrow, but of course, if you prefer another day, we can always make arrangements for that,” said Julius quickly.
Whitney paused for a moment before looking at Julius and noticing how he seemed somewhat nervous. “Since she wants us to have lunch tomorrow, then we’ll have lunch tomorrow. We really shouldn’t be leaving such things for our parents to

arrange
Julius nedited in agreement. Then again, he was probably going to nod in agreement to anything she said now.
After dinner, Julius went upstairs to his study to settle some work while Whitney entertained herself in the living room for a while before walking back up to the master bedroom.
It suddenly hit her that they had been married for months now. But Julius was still sleeping in the guest room.
She began to wonder if it was better to move her things to the guest room or move his things to the master bedroom.
While Whitney thought that Julius had brought work home because he couldn’t finish looking at everything in the office, he wasn’t doing anything related to work in the study.
He had a voice recording device on his table and Number 7 was standing in front of him.
As the recording was played, the atmosphere in the room seemed to grow teaser and tenser. Number 7 felt that he really needed someone else to bear the immense pressure buildup in the room with him.
At one point, the pressure hit its maximum, then suddenly dropped and everything seemed peaceful and even heartwarming again.
After the recording had finished playing. Number 7 said, “Mrs. Latreille had indeed attacked her cousin only after her cousin badmouthed you.
Julius nodded, gave Number 7 a few instructions, then noticed a shadow go past his door.
Number 7 opened his mouth to tell the person to leave but Julius signaled with his eyes for him to remain silent.
Julius knew immediately who that shadow belonged to and wanted to know what she wanted, so he didn’t make any sound. When the shadow reached the door, she cracked the door open and poked her head in.
“Honey, are you guys done with your meeting?” Whitney was in a furry pajama set which included a hoodie with bunny ears that made her look ridiculously adorable.
Number 7 immediately made himself scarce.
Whitney watched Number 7 walk out and hadn’t set foot into the study when she heard Julius pleasant voice say, “Come over here.”
She obediently walked towards him and he pulled her into the embrace before she reached his chair.
“Don’t look at him,” said Julius a little jealously as he spoke into her neck.
She laughed and soothed his tension by saying, “Alfight, alright, I won’t look at him, I’ll only look at you,
After he was satisfied with that response, he let her sit on his lap and asked gently, “What’s the matter? Do you need something?”
She pretended to look really stumped and said, “Do you think it’s better for me to move my things to your bedroom or move your things to the master bedroom?”
Then she looked up to see him staring straight at her as he asked in disbelief, “You want to sleep in the same room as She nodded calmly and said in a matter–of–fact voice, “We’re married Shouldn’t we be sleeping in the same room?”
No one can blame Julius for reacting this way. Ever since they were married, he had been sleeping in the guest room because

Whitney didn’t like him and refused to sleep in the same rooms him.
Any kisses exchanged were only because Whitney had made him furious, which made him want to lash out at her. Since he couldn’t bear to hurt her, the only thing he could do to vent his frustration was to forcibly kiss her on the lips.
What happened the night before was way beyond what Julius ever imagined would happen. His initial intention was to get Whitney back in her room, then he would go back to his room take a shower.
And even after doing the deed, he was mentally prepared for Wimey to suddenly get angry and start throwing things an him, but none of that happened.
That was already something he never thought would happen, an now, Whitney was talking to him about something he hadn’t even thought about.
“You’re right. That should be the way.” If he still chose to reject her at this point, he must be an idiot.
He could sense how much Whitney was changing in her attitude towards him. Since they both wanted to live happily together, they had to work hard towards that goal together too.
