Chapter 21
Whitney turned to look in surprise at Julius.
Julius smiled back and said in a very gentle voice, “Do you like it
She nodded excitedly.
The room was decorated with lots of roses and other pretty flowers, a rustic looking four–poster bed with luxurious curtains, copper embellishments and embroidered pillows that looked fit for royalty.
The noon sun shone in from the window to illuminate the equally vintage looking writing desk by the side.
She felt like she had walked into a queen’s bedroom.
“When did you prepare all this?” She walked further into the room and felt like she was in a French castle.
Julius subconsciously wrung his hands and seemed really nervous.
He pulled himself together and took Whitney’s hands in his, but let go of them again as he said in a rather awkward voice, It was while you were talking to my mother.”
She noticed his nervousness and restlessness. There was a tinge of happiness in her voice as she said, “Julius, I like it very much.
The décor was grand and luxurious yet incredibly romantic at the same time. Of course she liked it
“But why did you suddenly decide to do this?” she couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
Some of Julius‘ nervousness finally showed on his face as he cleaped his throat and said, “I did a quick search on Quora and found that most girls like surprises and like big romantic gestures.”
She nodded. She was one of those girls.”
“And why would you know about a site like Quora?” Julius had plenty of assistants to look up anything for him. He didn’t need to do this himself.
Julius didn’t know how to tell her that he had overheard her conversation with Jacqueline and realized that he had started their relationship on the wrong foot. Whitney was willing to stay by his side now, but Julius couldn’t forgive himself for not doing things the right way.
At the same time, he didn’t really understand the process of getting to know one’s partner before falling in love. But since his mother mentioned that it was something that all women would want, he was going to work hard to do just that
“Eugene often spends his free time going through the website, so I decided to take a look at it. Julius quickly pretended that he wasn’t really that interested in the site and that Eugene was the one who told him about it.
He wasn’t going to tell Whitney that he had no clue where to start, so when his Google search results turned up Quora, he began reading everything on it and couldn’t stop.
Whitney wasn’t particularly bothered by the fact that Julius was on Quora. She was more distracted by his comment on how most girls like ‘big romantic gestures“.
Did he choose to decorate this place romantically because he wanted to….
She stopped her thoughts from going down–the gutter again.

Chapter 21
“So are we going to…” Her entire brains was filled with R–rail images again and she couldn’t seem to speak in proper
sentences
This man was sometimes flirty and suggestive without even realizing it, and he also did things that made her think he wanted to take things a step further. It was as if she was always thirsty! Arght
When Julius finally got over his own awkwardness, he noticed that Whitney’s face was red and didn’t look too happy.
He had no idea what was wrong, but he knew that if he made heangry, she could became so angry that nothing he did would appease her.
“Whitney, I’m sorry, I was wrong,” Julius apologized very sincerely even though he really didn’t know how he had upset her. Whether he was really in the wrong or not didn’t matter. She was upset, so that was definitely his fault.
She tried not to laugh and continued to pretend that she was angry with him. She refused to look at him and scoffed. “And what wrong i
you do?”
He hadn’t the foggiest idea! Julius was practically shouting in his mind, but none of that showed on his face.
His expression was still contrite as he said, “I’ve made you angry
“Whitney, don’t be angry anymore, please? I was wrong. Please don’t be angry anymore.”
Julius didn’t know what else to say besides repeating these phrases over and over again, but it made Whitney feel really pampered.
After a while, she couldn’t continge pretending to be angry anyhore because he sounded so pitiful. But she did enjoy being coaxed like a child from time to time.
Now she felt bad for pretending to throw a tantrum
“Silly boy, I’m not angry. You looked so anxious just now, so I thought I’d make you coax me a bit more,” said Whitney before leaping into his arms.
Julius could see that she was just pretending after he started apologizing to her for a while, but he just liked indulging her.
Before this, Whitney was like a person who isolated herself from others by building a high wall around herself. Nobody could get in and she didn’t intend to let anyone in either.
Her playfulness and little tantrums actually made Julius really happy.
It meant that she had let him into that exclusive space she had created, or at least the door was now open to him.
He was finding it harder and harder to control his urges as she hugged him and moved from side to side, so he whispered seductively into her ear, “Hey Beautiful, do you know the consequences of moving around like this in the arms of a young, hot blooded man?”
