Chapter 3
Whitney had never smiled at him like that before, thought Julius How could she smile at some other man?
Julius‘ first instinct was to feel jealous.
But he immediately felt jittery after tightening his grip on her land. Whitney’s attitude towards him had finally improved. so he was afraid of doing anything that might displease her.
He quickly let go of her hand.
Whitney wasn’t sure if her rebirth had played any part in increasing her sensitivity to Julius‘ emotions, but she could sense the changes in his emotional state very easily now. Her heart really went out to him.
However, she suppressed the heartache she felt inside and grabbed hold of his hand again, then, looked at him gently and said. “Julius, let’s go get something to eat.”
He nodded and held on to her hand. He didn’t want to let go of her at all.
In fact, he was really happy inside when she took his hand. Nevertheless, when he thought of how she was probably doing this in the hope of leaving him, he didn’t feel happy anymore.
this moment.
It didn’t matter, he told himself. Even if she eventually left him, he was still going to savori
go first Whitney sat down at the table and could sense that Julius was going to head for the seat furthest away from her, so she held onto his hand and refused to let it go. She was sure that Julius wasn’t going to release her hand if she didn’t let
Julius hesitated for two seconds before finally settling down on the chair next to her.
A pleased smile spread across her face.
Why was she so happy, Julius began to wonder? Was it because he was sitting next to her?
But he soon snapped out of his daydreaming when he realized that Whitney had let go of his hand.
He looked down at his hand and could still feel the warmth of her hand in his.
“Have you eaten?” Whitney turned to ask him as she picked up her cutlery.
Julius looked up at her and replied expressionlessly, “Yes, I have
She could tell instantly that he was lying to her.
However, instead of exposing his lie, she chose to say, “Since you’re here, eat a little with me?”
He nodded, then reached out for the bowl of porridge that was still warm and put it in front of her. “Eat this bowl of porridge first.”
She looked at the porridge and remembered the story behind it she had to work while studying overseas and the harsh weather conditions she worked in had taken its toll on her body making her more susceptible to falling ill. After Julius found out about this, he consulted a doctor to see if anything could be done about it
He was afraid that she might refuse to take any medication or receive any treatment, so he got a dietitian to find a way to get the medication into Whitney’s food.
When Julius noticed that Whitney looked a little confused, he thought that she didn’t want to eat it, so he explained, “It’s been a long time since you ate solid food, so I think it’s best that you start with some porridge. It’ll be easier for your

stomach to digest it.”
Whitney snapped out of her thoughts when Julius started speaking. She didn’t tell him what she was thinking about and just began eating the bowl of porridge obediently
In her previous life, she didn’t know that this porridge had been specially prepared. But now, she could taste something else besides just the rice and condiments.
“I remember that you liked eating this. Have some to Whiteyould see that Julius only cared about her and he hadn’t caten anything himself, so she took the initiative to put something he liked to cat on his plate.”
And how did Whitney know what Julius liked to eat? Back then, she didn’t want him to come home because she didn’t like him, so she deliberately observed his eating habits for a while and laced his favorite foods with laxatives. That ended up sending him straight to the hospital and he wasn’t able to come home for the night.
So, when Eugene noticed Whitney putting food on Julius plate he became concerned.
He just knew this little troublemaker was up to no good! Julius indulged her all the time and she always took advantage of
that!
Just when he thought that the furniture in the house was safe and that Whitney wasn’t going to pull any stunts today, she started putting food on Julius‘ plate. So, that was what she was plotting!
“Mr. Latreille!” Eugene immediately shouted out in protest.
Julius merely glanced at Eugene expressionlessly, then, he put the food on his plate into his mouth.
He didn’t care if Whitney’s intention was to land him in hospital. This was a piece of meat that Whitney had specially placed on his plate!
Also, if landing in hospital meant that she wasn’t going to leave him anymore, then, it was all worth the pain.

Whitney had no idea that so many thoughts were running through the two men’s heads just because she had placed a piece of meat on Julius‘ plate. All she wanted to do was to get Julius to eat because he hadn’t eaten yet
She continued to eat and put food on Julius plate at the same time. Julius didn’t protest or make a face and ate everything on his plate.
Eugene got Tom, another servant in the house, to call for the armbulance while he continued waiting for this happy moment to fall apart.
He didn’t care if Julius was doing this to make Whitney stay or just to make her smile. His first priority was to make sure that Julius didn’t end up getting fatally poisoned!
Julius‘ expression didn’t change at all throughout the meal, but he was actually thinking about what the doctor advised him the last time and started calculating how much more of the food he could probably eat before his stomach protested.
“I’m full.” Julius put his cutlery down.
Whitney gave him a puzzled look. She couldn’t eat too much at one go because she hadn’t eaten in two days. However, he had barely eaten anything, so why was he full already?
Then, it suddenly hit her.
It was all her fault that he was behaving like this. Again.
She didn’t apologize and she didn’t become unhappy either. Instead, she got up, stood right next to him and whispered into his ear, “Scared that I’ll poison you?”

As he turned to look at her, he could feel the ends of her hair touch his face and also smell the fragrance of her body.
His Adam’s apple moved visibly as he replied in his pleasant and sexy voice, “No, I’m not.
Whitney nearly swooned from hearing his voice. This man oozed charm with every word he uttered. The attraction they had for each other was magnetic.
“Have some more? Whitney sounded like a siren bewitching the fortunate sailor that had come her way.
Julius had initially decided against eating, but he didn’t know how to refuse Whitney when herexpression was so inviting.
Meanwhile, Eugene began cursing Whitney in his mind, Julius was going to die at this rate!
While Eugene was on the verge of hitting the roof and Julius was valiantly ready to put his life on the line to please his wife, Whitney proceeded to do something that shocked them both.
