Chapter 6
Irvin was standing right next to Rainic. After she hung up with Whitney, he asked, “How did it go? Did she say yes???
Rainie tried her best to ignore Whitney’s nonchalant attitude over the phone earlier and put on her most determined smile
“Of course
Thanks to the scripts that Whitney had written specially for Irvin, he was a celebrity with nearly 20 million fans now So every time they had to meet, Rainie would always arrange for them to meet in some really secluded and rundown place in the name of making sure they weren’t spotted by fans or paparazzi.
Whitney never complained about the meeting place and never even suspected that the two of them were lying to her.
When she thought about it now, she realized that Irvin didn’t care about where they met because he didn’t think she deserved special treatment in the first place. He felt that Whitney ought to accede to all his requests unconditionally. And that was why Whitney immediately decided that she wasn’t going to meet them at all.
After she had slept enough, she realized it was already 10am.
That was the time Rainie had asked her to meet them. She was afraid that Whitney might get late, so they arrived a little earlier.
upset and leav
if they were
On any other day, Whitney would have been left waiting till past llam, and Irvin would just pretend that he was late because he was busy wrapping up some filming or audition of sorts when that wasn’t the case at all.
But Whitney was always so willing to wait and never made any demands of him.
If she still decided to meet them despite knowing all this, she must be an idiot.
She turned on her laptop and began typing away like an expert. Lines and lines of code appeared on the screen until a prompt with the words ‘Access Granted‘ appeared.
She had some basic hacking skills. “Why?“, you might ask.
That was because whenever anything negative was reported on Irvin in the past, she would immediately use her hacking skills to make sure none of these articles and posts spread online
But now, she was using her skills for the exact opposite reason.
Since she had learned hacking because of Irvin, wasn’t it only appropriate for her to use it on him now?
She proceeded to type away before finally feeling satisfied enough to shut the cover.
Meanwhile, Julius walked into his office after finishing a meeting
He sat down and looked at his watch with a calm look on his face, but his heart was actually pounding very nervously. He had given Whitney a chance to be frank with him, but he still wasn’t sure if she would go out to meet Irvin
After some time, he finally opened his eyes and exhaled deeply. “Eugene.”
Eugene quickly walked over when he heard his name and awaited instructions.
“Did she go?” Julius didn’t say her name out loud, but Eugene knew immediately that the only person Julius was so cautious about mentioning was Whitney.
Chapter 6
Eugene replied expressionlessly. “Not yet
“You may go out.” Julius wasn’t sure if he ought to be relieved or not.
After Eugene left the oflice, Julius looked at the photo on his table and murmure
to himself, “Have you really changed?”
It was nearly noon, but snow fell heavily over Quino City in the horning and wasn’t warm at all. A strong wind started blowing and one could feel the bitter cold in your bones. Anyone standing outside in this weather was going to feel terrible. just like Rainie and Irvin as they stood next to the entrance to a cemetery.
There were no nearby buildings to block the wind, so the howling wind enveloped every inch of their bodies and their lips were turning purple from the cold. The makeup on their faces red dry and cakey, which made them look more terrifying than attractive.
Irvin had never been subject to su
poor conditions ever since he debuted.
Thanks to the success Whitney had brought him, he was treated like a star everywhere he went. Someone would have rushed him into a warm room and offered him a hot drink by now.
But now…..
The more he thought about it, the angrier Irvin became, so his tone was a little unfriendly as he snapped at Rainie, “Are you sure Whitney is coming? Did you tell her that I’m coming along tool”
Rainie was actually just as annoyed as Irvin, so when he snapped at her, she snapped back, “Yeah, I told her all that. Why? You don’t believe me? You’re going to blame me because she didn’t turn up? I wouldn’t have known that stupid woman was going to stand us up!”
After Irvin reminded himself of how Rainie and Whitney were related, he realized that he had been too impatient with Rainie and did his best to soften his tone. T’m not blaming you. I just thought you might have forgotten to tell her.”
Rainie scoffed and refused to say anymore.
“I’ll give her a call,” said Irvin as he took his phone out to call Whitney.
While Irvin and Rainie were freezing their butts off in the cold, Whitney was sitting inside her cozy living room and enjoying a nice bowl of ice cream.
When her phone started ringing, she merely glanced briefly at the words flashing on the screen, then went back to eating her ice cream like she hadn’t seen anything-
“Damn it! She’s actually not picking up my calls!” cursed Irvin. Besides feeling angry, he was also feeling a sense of panic, but he wasn’t really sure why he was feeling this way.
“Irvie, why don’t we leave first?” Rainie couldn’t stand the cold anymore and tried to lean on Irvin to get some warmth.
But the cold weather and freezing winds had made her skin super dry, causing her foundation to crack. Her cakey makeup and purplish lips made her look more like a monster now.
“Ugh, don’t come near me.” Irvin threw Rainie a look of disgust.
Rainie looked very frightening, but what she said made sense too. Irvin couldn’t stand the cold anymore either, so both of them huddled together and got back into the car without noticing the camera flashes behind them.
This was supposed to be a secret meeting, so instead of getting his assistant to drive his usual large van with tinted window he drove a fairly inconspicuous Volkswagen Beetle himself instead.
Chapter 6
They were hoping that it would be warmer in the car, only to find that they didn’t have that much gas left. If they wanted to make it back into the city, they couldn’t turn on the heater. If they turned up the heating, they eventually run out of gas halfway.
Irvin started the car up and drove at 100 miles an hour.
Both of them tried their best not to breathe too hard because the air inside the car was simply too cold.
Irvin thought that this was the worst thing he would experience that day. But he was sorely mistaken,
What was one thing that no celebrity would ever want to go through?
No celebrity would ever want the paparazzi to spot them with red makeup and a member of the opposite sex at the same
time.
But sometimes things didn’t go the way one wanted them to go. Or rather, while things weren’t going well for Irvin, things were going exactly the way Whitney wanted them to go.
Once he drove his red Beetle drove into his estate, reporters suddenly swarmed his car from all directions
But all Irvin–could think about was getting back into his house to enjoy some warmth. Besides, his manager and assistant always helped him with fending off the press, so he didn’t actually know what to do when they surrounded his car like this.
It didn’t take long for the reporters to completely surround his car.
