Juhus‘ first thought was that something bad happened to Whitney
When he was about to leave the office earlier, Number 0 came walking in
His heart nearly stopped as he asked, “What happened?”
But Number 9 didn’t sense Julius nervousness. He reported as honestly as he could, “Mrs. Latreille’s cousin went to look for her at the bungalow. We tried to block her from entering but Mr. Latreille told us to let her in, so we did. Number 7 currently recording their conversation.”
However, Julius‘ attention wasn’t drawn to the fact that Whitney had a visitor. Instead, he asked, “So Whitney didn’t go out at all today?”
Number 9 was confused for a second. He hadn’t said anything about Whitney going out, Wasn’t what he just said sufficient to prove
that Whitney had been home the whole time?
But since his boss had asked him a question, he had to answer Julius. So he nodded as seriously as he could.
Julius‘ anxious heart was immediately relieved to hear Number 9’s answer. He didn’t care who came to visit her as long as she didn’t leave the house.
Number 9 was puzzled by Julius‘ clearly relieved reaction and how Julius didn’t seem to be in a hurry to go home even after hearing his report. But as a subordinate, this was not his place to’say such things.
Julius opened the door to see Whitney using disinfectant wipes to wipe her fingers very meticulously as if she was doing something serious,
Everyone else was either standing behind her or busy doing something else, but it was obvious that none of them were really paying attention to what they were doing.
It was as if they had just gone through a terrible scare and were ill trying to recover from their shock.
“Whitney.” Julius ignored the strange behavior of everyone in the room and felt his heart melt the moment he laid his eye on Whitney.
Whitney looked up at him with her large and pretty eyes that seemed so aggrieved, Julius felt a terrible ache in his heart.
“What happened, darling? Did someone offend you?” Julius sat down next to her, made sure she wasn’t put off by him, then reached out to pat her head.
To his surprise, she lunged into his arms and whined, “My hands are dirty and I can’t get them clean again.”
He looked down at her hands and saw that her fingers were a little red from how hard she had wiped them
An ache rose in his heart as he picked up her reddened fingers and gently caressed the reddened areas.
He even
kissed them and said, “They’re not dirty. Your hands are the cleanest in the world.”
It was a little hard to tell if Whitney was upset purely about her fingers or not. Julius liked how Whitney was so affectionate towards him, but he didn’t like how vulnerable she was right now, Her helplessness made his heart ache terribly.
“Can you tell me what happened?” He patted her back gently as he motioned to the servants to prepare dinner. “Did someone bully you?” he started making guesses since Whitney continued to bury her head in his chest.

“Yeah,” a mullled childish voice came from his chest.
The bodyguards widened their eyes. Whitney was the one who kicked someone else to the floor! How could she say that she was the one who got bullied?
Julius immediately glared at all the bodyguards standing behind them. There were so many of them, yet his precious wife still got bullied!
These bodyguards were completely useless and ought to be disposed of, thought Julius as his eyes gleamed with a threatening look.
The bodyguards nearly fell to their knees to plead for mercy when they caught that glint in Julius’ eyes. Everyone knew that if Julius got angry, he will not show them mercy.
There was once Julius got into a terrible argument with Whitney but he couldn’t bear to hurt her, so he diverted his rage to other things.
Whitney knew that Julius had a habit of terrorizing his subordinates because of her, so she quickly lifted her head and pulled herself away from Julius before he gave any orders. She then looked at him very seriously and said, “Someone said bad things about you today, so I fought with her.”
Priority went to listening to what Whitney had to say instead of disciplining the bodyguards, so they prayed very hard that Whitney would say something that would clear up the misconception Julius had about them. That was the only way they could escape their fate.
“Oh? Did you win?” Julius didn’t look like he was patronizing her and asked her very seriously.
Whitney nodded, then stretched her legs out in front of him. I kicked her away!” she declared smugly as if she were a child, waiting to be praised.
Julius looked at her long and slim legs and instinctively began to massage them as he smiled and said, “Aww, that must have been tough on you”
The bodyguards felt like rolling their eyes. Then again, it did take more effort to kick someone than to get kicked.
“Do you feel better now?” Julius was massaging Whitney very seriously, because if he didn’t do that, she would probably return to her room. He wanted to spend more time with her.
Whitney knew that even though her behavior had changed drastically compared to before, she had hurt Julius very deeply. so he was extremely insecure around her. She had to work harder to make him feel more secure about their relationship.
“I won’t let anybody say bad things about you,” she said earnestlyas she grabbed hold of his hands.
“You don’t have to do anything for me. Whitney could feel his hands tremble immediately after she said these words, so she gripped them more tightly to stop them from trembling.
“I…” Julius wanted to say that he was more than willing to do anything for her, but she placed two fingers on his lips to stop him from speaking.
Was she not going to even give him a chance to do that? Julius began to worry.
“Don’t let your thoughts run wild,” said Whitney firmly. “Everything I’m about to say is very important and I’m very serious about it. I want you to listen to me carefully.”
