Director Moore didn’t get a chance to ask for details before the call ended. The young coach plastered a smile on his face for the police and base management. Our director will be here soon; it’s about a twenty–minute drive.” He quickly glanced at Lily, relieved when she didn’t look at him. After she’d called the police, he hadn’t been able to stop her!
This was his self–serving version of events. In reality, he’d tried to grab the phone, but John and Ben had stood up, blocking him. He’d backed down.
Lily had reported the institution for child abuse, then proceeded to the base management office, reporting the basketball training camp for false advertising and fraud. These accusations didn’t initially worry the young coach; their director had connections.
His complacency vanished as the accusations escalated to include child abuse, collusion between the camp and the base, and allegations of a widespread criminal operation. The base management’s faces turned green as they questioned the coach.
The base management had initially tried to avoid responsibility, passing the issue to Director Moore. Lily, mentioning the police report and threatening to contact the media, and showing her phone, stating that she’d recorded their attempt to evade responsibility and had automatic cloud backups, changed their minds. The police were arriving any moment.
This combined assault left the base management and young coach waiting with Lily for the police. The police, upon hearing Lily’s statement, questioned the organizer, reminding the coach that he still hadn’t contacted him. He called again.
By the time the organizer arrived, Lily had already, in front of the police and base management, thoroughly denounced the institution, with all fifteen instructors present. She didn’t just shout; her accusations were carefully crafted.
“Don’t play innocent. You implemented the punishments! Now you’re playing the victim! You’re disgusting!”
“That student, weak and barely able to walk, wasn’t given time off! Is this how teachers behave? A bunch of bottom–feeders trying to act important!”
Some instructors tried to argue but were silenced by Lily’s eloquence and the validity of he points. Remarkably, she delivered her scathing remarks in a calm tone, yet her words were incredibly harsh.
The three men sat on the sofa, watching Lily’s masterful performance. They’d initially intended to help but found it unnecessary.
“Amazing,” Amy whispered, admiringly. When would she ever be that skilled?
John was filled with pride. Lily was the best!
“Who is she, exactly?” Ben asked, repeatedly, but no one answered. His father and sister were intently focused on Lily’s performance.
He’d expected her to leverage her father’s status to pressure the institution, but she hadn’t done that, nor had she used her father.
Looking at his father, then his sister, then himself, he felt utterly useless…
“What’s going on here?” Director Moore arrived late.

Oh, Captain Aiden, what brings you here?” He greeted the base management familiarly Oh, you know each other? That makes things easier,” Lily remarked sarcastically. He knew! Captain Aiden was clearly intimidated by this young woman. The greeting between Li and the management had been a bad sign.
“Ms. Lynch, please don’t misunderstand. We have video footage; we’ll act impartially, upholding the law.” Captain Aiden stated solemnly. He’d only met Li once at a dinner; they weren’t close.
“Captain Aiden, I’m referring to that acquaintance,” Lily said, nodding towards the base
management.
She’d heard Director Moore call him “Brother Weston.”
The base management, realizing Li knew the police, suddenly felt the heat. Remembering Lily’s earlier statements about the institution’s fraudulent activities and its use of the base for its
scams.
He stepped forward.“Ms. Lynch, please don’t spread misinformation. The base strictly follows regulations. If Director Moore violates laws or regulations, the base will uphold justice!”
Director Moore frowned. Who was this woman, capable of instantly causing a rift between him and the management? And his staff looked like defeated dogs…
“Someone tell me what happened.”
The young coach finally remembered that he’d focused on getting help rather than explaining the situation. He checked his phone: twenty–odd messages from the director asking about the incident. His phone was on silent…
The police explained to Director Moore.
“Our institution will cooperate fully. We might have been negligent in monitoring the children’s injuries, but we deny other accusations. As for false advertising, our initial plan was… different. But circumstances changed. It’s a matter of contract dispute; we can discuss it, and you can always sue…”
No wonder he was the director; calm and composed, he provided justifications for everything.
Lily wasn’t there for a debate. She addressed the base management.“He admitted to false advertising.” This confirmed the institution’s fraudulent use of the base.
“Ms. Lynch, the base only rents space. We have no control over this institution’s actions. We’ll address this matter later.”
Ben nudged Amy.“It’s not looking good!”
Amy felt a pang of worry. What could they do against this blatant evasion of responsibility?
Amy and Ben now viewed Lily as an ally, fighting together against an external threat. This was exactly what Lily wanted; to subtly draw her children closer.
John, however, was unconcerned. Lily had more tricks up her sleeve.
Lily stated, “It seems reason won’t work.”
Amy’s eyes lit up. She was about to unleash her full force!
