“Is the base’s fire safety up to code? Are all the permits in order?” Lily glared at the base manager, then turned to Director Moore.“Are all the teachers properly qualified?” “The base’s dining facilities seem to have some food safety issues…”
Within ten minutes, Lily had identified every potential problem in the base, from top to bottom. By the end, not only the base manager and Director Moore but even the police officers recording the events were sweating profusely. Why did they provoke her? This woman clearly knew the law inside and out! She must be a law student! The officers straightened their posture. The base manager hadn’t anticipated her tenacity. He was certain the permits were in order, but a thorough inspection would undoubtedly uncover minor issues. These minor issues, coupled with the formal complaint, would be insurmountable! He recalled her threat to contact the media! She’d mentioned cloud backups, suggesting technical proficiency. Perhaps she was a social media influencer! A scandal would irrevocably damage the base’s reputation. He decided to abandon Director Moore.
Director Moore was equally flustered, seeing the base manager’s wavering resolve. When reason fails, there’s force or the law. Lily chose the latter.
“Director Moore, don’t think you can quietly close this camp and reopen under a different name. Those you’ve wronged will be watching you closely.”
“And you, Mr. Weston, this beautiful location will be forever tainted with the reputation of being a scam. Aren’t you heartbroken?”
Lily had never encountered someone who could outsmart her. Let them try; she’d see who would pay the price!
Lily exposed Director Moore’s strategy. His institution’s reputation didn’t matter; he’d simply reopen under a different name, targeting new students. But with Lily’s persistence, this wouldn’t

Li wiped his face, dropping the act.“Ms. Lynch, let’s talk this over. Communication is key, isn’t it?”
“So, you’re willing to cooperate?” Lily sighed. She’d only used one tactic, and he was already surrendering.
Director Moore’s mouth twitched; her lack of satisfaction was infuriating. Lily and Director Moore went to another office; twenty minutes later, they emerged. The negotiations had been successful. The police took statements from the students involved in the fight.
Lily saw several students waiting outside the office; she was surprised. They were badly injured. One had a swollen face, one had a bandaged wrist, and another had two black eyes and a large bump on his head…
Lily looked at her son. Ben nodded; he’d done it! Lily now understood John’s description of him as not one to back down.
Pulling Ben to the front of the five students, she asked, “Tell me what started this conflict.”
“They were the organizer’s lackeys, targeting me. They tried to beat me up. After I fought back, they started making things difficult for me and my classmates!” Recalling Lily’s earlier insults to the instructors, Ben added, “They’re pathetic!”

Some staff, moving equipment, had overheard two teachers discussing this. They confronted Ben, intending to teach him a lesson. Words escalated into a physical fight, triggering further conflict. The teachers, upon hearing Jack’s statement, looked at Director Moore, remembering his instruction.

Seeing their denial, Jack asked Ben, “You looked down on us and got our forms wet!” “The wind blew them onto the ground; I just picked them up!”

“I was also wrong. I apologize.” Ben, more responsive to kindness, also apologized. They found common ground in their shared experience.
Seeing the conflict resolved, Lily turned to Director Moore, who reluctantly agreed.“The institution failed to handle this properly. We’ll refund all fees.”

provide compensation.” Jack and the others were delighted. They’d saved their money for the training; they were happy to get it back.
Ben wasn’t interested in the compensation. He wasn’t short of money; the institution was deplorable and deserved punishment!
