Chapter 6: The Real Mistress
“Butler, who is she?”
Ignoring Lily, Vivian, suppressing the urge to scratch Lily’s face, asked the butler, subtly highlighting her familiarity with the house.
The butler was stumped.
John hadn’t given him any instructions.
More accurately, Mr. Janson had been completely preoccupied with Lily and hadn’t had time to brief him.
However, he knew she was the hostess in the family.
But without John explicitly saying so, he couldn’t introduce.
her
such.
His hesitation gave Vivian a blow to her ego, particularly with Lily’s light laughter adding insult to injury.
Vivian’s face turned from green to red.
Lily’s next words were even more infuriating.
“Excuse me, ma’am, are you a relative of my honey? How should I address you?”
-Ma’am-”
Vivian felt a jolt.
Then another, as she saw Lily adjust her collar.
You slept together?!”
Lily paused, realizing the misunderstanding.
A stray hair tickled her neck.
She adjusted her collar, revealing faint marks from John’s grip.
Her delicate skin showed slightly red and purple marks, vaguely resembling those left after intimacy.
“Oops, sorry. My apologies.”
Lily didn’t explain, maintaining a cheerful facade while mentally cursing John. She adjusted her collar again, covering the marks.

Vivian, despite the mask, saw the smugness in Lily’s eyes, interpreting it as a gloat. She seethed inwardly: A shameless, uncouth vixen!
“Not every woman can enter the Janson home. Have some self–respect. Don’t make a fool of yourself and disgrace the family. There have been many before you, and none were successful. You’ll only hurt yourself in the end.”
Vivian often used this tactic against other women interested in John, the condescending tone leaving many speechless.
“Oh! I understand. You’re honey’s mother!”
Lily feigned realization.

The butler stifled a laugh.
The new mistress was delivering
was delivering blow after blow, subtly implying Vivian’s age. Noticing Lily’s glance, he stepped forward, “Ma’am, there’s a misunderstanding. She’s Miss Amy’s
aunt.”
“Aunt? A distant relative? I thought she was a respected member of the Janson family. Apparently
not.”
Then, loud enough for everyone. to hear, she muttered, “A pig in lipstick.” -Pretending to be something she’s not.
A stifled laugh escaped someone’s lips.
Vivian glared around the room, the staff keeping their heads down, fueling her rage. No one had ever dared to speak to her like that!
Thanks to the Jansons, Vivian had enjoyed
“Do

social status.
“Do you know I can have “you” thrown out?” Lily mimicked, clapping twice. “So powerful and intimidating!”
Vivian had a sharp tongue.
She’d dealt with various types of women pursuing John–strong career women, sweet interns, elegant teachers….
Each woman, whether strong–willed or naive, either confronted her directly or played games. Vivian always won.
Those women never gained John’s attention, but she could freely enter the Janson house.
Amy and Ben were even close to her!
This was her leverage, making other women cautious.
No one had been
had been as defiant as this vixen, behaving more childishly than Amy!
It had been a long time since someone had made Vivian so angry.
Lily had done it effortlessly.
Footsteps sounded from upstairs.
John was coming down.
Vivian perked up, quickly dropping her acidic tone.“This
woman is outrageous!”
She turned to John, “You brought her home, disregarding my niece? Amy is returning next week; she’s been away for six months, and the first thing she’ll want is to see you. Seeing a stranger here will devastate her…”
Lily scoffed.
What a great act.
John reached the bottom of the stairs just as Vivian finished.
Glancing at the butler, he said expressionlessly, “Show her out,”
Chapter 6 The Real Mistress
Vivian glared at Lily, smug.
See if I can get you thrown out!
Then-
She was escorted out.
“Vivian, this way, please.”
Vivian thought the butler hadn’t understood.
Why would she be the one leaving? That woman should be the one going! “Honey Who is she? Does she represent the Janson family?”
Lily beckoned to John from the sofa, her face tightening “She tried to throw me out!”
“She’s not important, and she doesn’t represent the family. You’re the one in charge here. Only you can evict someone.”
Lily was a natural actress, and John was her perfect partner.
Others couldn’t handle Lily’s dramatic outbursts, but John was always in sync. And it was also what John was really saying.
Vivian was speechless.
The shock was so great that she was practically dragged out of the house and stood dumbfounded at the gate for three minutes.
Heaven’s!
That vixen’s skills were impressive; she’d completely won John over!
Vivian never anticipated this.
Knowing she wouldn’t get anywhere, she called Amy.
For the first time, she felt truly threatened.
This vixen was unlike any other woman!
She needed to poison Amy against her!
Inside the mansion,
“It seems Mr. Janson has been quite the ladies‘ man these years.”
John inwardly panicked.
Vivian had clearly spread rumors.
“Not Mr. Janson, Lily, I’m honey.” John moved to sit beside her.
“These years
years, I…” John tried to explain, but a phone call interrupted. The landline rang-
Lily nodded towards it.
“Ignore it. Our conversation is more important”
Lily watched him silently.
After three seconds, John gave in and answered the phone.

“Let her answer.”
