Chapter 11
Nico could hardly believe it, his eyes full of shock and hurt.
“…True love? Then what am I, just a dog you call whenever you want and push away when you’re done?”
“Rosalie, ask yourself honestly–have I ever treated you badly?”
Rosalie stopped pretending, snorting coldly.
“Well, I never asked you for anything, so you only have yourself to blame.”
“Besides, you’re pretty weak. You say you don’t like your wife, but then you go to bed with
her. What, are you separated from her now?”
“You’re such a coward, only you would listen to your dad and not dare to divorce as a CEO.”
After she said that, I suddenly thought of the lost little life, and a sharp pain hit my heart. It
was so small, never even got to see the world…
From now on, I’ll live my life carryin
its share.
Nico’s face shifted from black to blue as he pushed Rosalie hard.
“Get out of here!”
Rosalie was knocked to the ground and screamed in anger.
“How dare you push me?! Nico, you’ve really lost face! Let me tell you, you’re nothing but a
coward!”
“Did
you really like me? Pah! I’d rather die than marry you!”
“You’re just obedient, got it?”
The two of them completely tore off the masks they’d been wearing. Nico’s eyes burned with rage, no trace of the tenderness he once had for her.
Tch, the man’s so–called true love.
“Fine, I’m useless, I’m a coward,” Nico’s eyes darkened with madness, and he sneered,
“Then let me show you whether I’m really useless.”
In an instant, he grabbed the fruit knife that had been lying on the table and stabbed it
toward Rosalie’s chest.
When Rosalie was taken away by the ambulance, she was already unconscious.
It wasn’t until then that Nico snapped back to reality, throwing the bloodied knife aside.
“No… how could this happen…”
He clutched his head, shaking, as though just realizing I was still in the room. He immediately knelt before me.
“Evelynn, I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have treated you like that… I should have saved you.”
“It’s all my fault! I misjudged people, but I don’t want a divorce anymore…”
Now you regret it? Too bad, it’s too late.
I squatted down, narrowing my eyes as I looked at this man who was now in a pitiful state.
“Regret? What are you regretting, regretting marrying me, or just realizing I was easier to
deceive than Rosalie?”
He stared at me blankly.
“Can’t we start over? Go back to the way things were… is that impossible?”
I almost laughed in anger.”
“Of course it’s impossible! Don’t you understand, I almost died!”
“Our two children are gone. You want me to start over?! Nico, do you think I’m an idiot?”
“You signed the papers. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other.”
Hearing this, he lost all strength, his eyes filled with panic.
“No, Evelynn, please don’t go… It was my fault for not seeing the people around me clearly. The kidnapping was my fault. Please give me another chance, okay?”
“If Rosalie hadn’t lied to me, speaking badly about you behind my back, I wouldn’t be like
this…”
He was overwhelmed with regret, gripping my legs tightly.
