She couldn’t stay in that room and she couldn’t keep growling over and over because that would be disrespectful to the meeting they had come for and to the king who had graciously let her tag along. It wasn’t daily that this happened and she didn’t want this to be the last time that King Miroslav let her accompany him anywhere. That in itself would be a great risk, seeing as she was the head of the high guards and needed to be formed of every security protocol so she could make sure the queen was alright.
“Of course,” the Lycan king said and Kara excused herself.
Heion and Viktor looked at her worriedly but they didn’t say shi about it. Instead, they just sat there staring at the father and son making a fool of themselves. They had expected this when they made the journey here but the fact that they were tight was displeasing in the worst of ways. Surely the alpha could have tried to come up with a better excuse, right? But then here they were and with a warrior out, they needed to fast–track this. They all knew there was a chance Kara had reacted that way because of what Drescher had done to her, but there was no telling just yet.

I know this wouldn’t bring her family back, but I hoped that a show of peace and a desire to reconcile would keep us out of the dangers that come with pissing the Lycans off. “Let’s be real here, enforcer. If I apologize, you would still have my head for it. If I twisted the words and made it seem like we were hoping for some shit, you would just flatten Koslov down-” the alpha said and Viktor snorted before speaking.
“We will still flatten it, but go on, make your point, and make it quick before I accidentally rip out your dear son’s heart,” Viktor said while Miro just sat there. It was like he was enjoying the shit show and the fact that he wasn’t stopping his best friends, went to show that they were all on the same page. Perhaps more pain was what they could offer this alpha and his dumb son, right?
“At least you are honest. So why are you really here? The woman couldn’t make it and you came on her behalf, maybe she doesn’t even know about the invite. She doesn’t know because you’re gatekeeping things from her, which might end up getting interesting,” Alpha Rykov said and Heion stared at the man like he wanted to die so soon. Surely the alpha had to have known that they would eventually come to avenge their queen, right? They would make sure everything that made her suffer would experience a pain that no one would ever wish even on their worst enemies, no?
